Austrian classic electric locomotives

Description
After WW1 Austria got new borders and now there were no more coal mines inside the country. This made the supply of steam engines complicated. In the year 1920 a program to electrify the Autrian railways was launched. The necessary electric locomotives were predominant on the railway lines for a long time and legendary vehicles like the "crocodile" or the "camel" became famous internationally.

These distinctive vehicles can be found in this package and are all characterized by:

- 37 variants showing important conditions and liveries
- Original sound-set (roaring engines, whistle)
- Aging and Colorblend
- Fake locos included

The Karwendel locomotive (1912-1942) - kkStB 1060 / BBÖ 1060 / DRB E60.1
- Available: 1912-1942 in different conditions
- Top speed: 40 kph
- Power: 620 kW
- Tractive effort: 75 kN
- Weight: 53 tons
The kkStB series 1060 was the first standard gauge electric locomotive in Austria for mainline railways. Their area of operation was the Mittenwaldbahn, three locomotives were also used on the Pressburgerbahn. The locomotive was very primitive with a large repulsion motor and kerosene lamps. They soon proved to be too weak and slow.

The Crocodile (1923-1979) - BBÖ 1100.1 / DRB E89.1 / ÖBB 1189
- Available: 1923-1979 in different conditions
- Top speed: 75 kph
- Power: 1.900 kW
- Tractive effort: 224 kN
- Weight: 116 tons
These locomotives were designed to take heavy express trains over mountain passes. Based on the Swiss crocodiles, the same design with movable "noses" was also used in Austria. A total of 16 locomotives were produced in two series. Initially, they had additional, narrow tunnel pantographs until the tunnels on the Arlberg were rebuilt. After the WW2, the vehicles increasingly migrated to the freight train service. The locomotives were never very popular in workshops because the used technology was complicated and quickly worn out.

The Camel (1923-1975) - BBÖ 1029 / DRB E33 / ÖBB 1073
- Available: 1923-1963 in different conditions
- Top speed: 75-90 kph
- Power: 1.160 kW
- Tractive effort: 110 kN
- Weight: 74 tons
For short distance trains locomotives quite similar to steam engines were built. These locomotives were nicknamed "camel" because of the large wheels and the central cab. In the 1950s they were rebuilt for 90 kph and put out of service until 1975.

The Turtle (1924-1993) - BBÖ 1080 / DRB E88 / ÖBB 1080
- Available: 1924-1990 in different conditions
- Top speed: 50 kph
- Power: 1020 kW
- Tractive effort: 193 kN
- Weight: 77 tons
This locomotive type was built for freight train services on the Arlberg pass. The three middle axles are equipped with an engine, which are coupled to each other and to the non-driven end axles. Due to the low speed, the locomotives were soon pushed into shunting duties, where they were used until 1993.

The Arlberg-Box (1926-1993) - BBÖ 1080.1 / DRB E88.1 / ÖBB 1180
- Available: 1926-1990 in different conditions
- Top speed: 50 kph
- Power: 1300 kW
- Tractive effort: 200 kN
- Weight: 81 tons
Improved variant of the 1080 series for freight train service on the Arlberg pass. The three middle axles are equipped with an engine, which are coupled to each other and to the non-driven end axles. Due to the low speed, the locomotives were soon pushed into shunting duties, where they were used in Tyrol and Vorarlberg until 1993.

The Brenner-locomotive (1928-1983) - BBÖ 1670 / DRB E22.1 / ÖBB 1670
- Available: 1928-1983 in different conditions
- Top speed: 100 kph
- Power: 2.350 kW
- Tractive effort: 185 kN
- Weight: 107 tons
This was an express train locomotive with single-axis drive, which reached a top speed of 100 kph. There were many problems in the mechanical equipment and they never became very stable.

The bulky engine (1934-1995) - BBÖ 1170.2 / DRB E45.2 / ÖBB 1245
- Available: 1934-1987 in different conditions
- Top speed: 80 kph
- Power: 1.840 kW
- Tractive effort: 200 kN
- Weight: 83 tons
This bogie locomotive was not part of the initial procurement. These 41 universal locomotives were suitable for all types of trains. They were very successful and served 61 years in daily service.

Since the latest game update a few modded locs, including the Eumel, crash my game when I go to first person view. Any idea what the cause can be? (I haven't tried the other locs in this package yet)

Super Mod! Dankeschön für die Loks!
Muss ich da etwas bei den Einstellungen ändern, damit die Farbe beim wegzoomen von Orange auf Grün wechselt?

Hi Dom train, great mods. Thank you for enriching this one. Just one problem, apologies if someone has already said this, my German's the wurst. The driver in the express engine now sits in the engine compartment and the driver view is out of sync. I can live with it, just thought you should know.
