This mod adds new buildings and modules for starbases and orbital rings designed to enhance the utility and add character to starbases with descriptions and graphics which match the style of the base game. In some cases existing starbase buildings from the base game have been changed to provide bonuses to many of the new modules.

Administrative Starbases expand your interstellar bureaucracy. They are created by building Administrative hubs which increase your unity production. By adding a Deep Space Black Site you can increase their efficiency. The Byzantine Bureaucracy civic adds a further +1 Unity generation per Administrative Hub.

Industrial Starbases and Foundry Starbases are two new starbase types which are created by building either Industrial Hubs or Foundry hubs respectively. Both have a building which increases their productivity as well as the mineral upkeep cost by 50%. These starbases are especially great to have during the early to mid game when your Forge Worlds and Factory Worlds are still developing.

Cultural Starbases are established through the construction of Cultural Hubs where your artists and cultural leaders congregate. By adding a Convention Center you can boost their generation of unity and society research. And should you have an Artisan Enclave within your borders you can turn your station into an Art College which attracts the greatest creative minds in the Galaxy.

Energy Starbases are formed by building either Energy Generators or Solar Power Networks, the latter of which is available to gestalt consciences. These starbases can generate vast amounts of income in even the most resource deprived systems without attracting pirates.

Farming Starbases are seeded by constructing Hydrdoponics Bays. These can grow vast amounts of food which frees up valuable space on your colonies for more advanced industries. Food Processors will enhance the yields of any hydroponics facilities.

Mining Starbases are started by building Mining Hubs, which mine orbital bodies in the system or salvage wreckage for useful scrap material. Mineral purifiers and Nebula Refineries boost their mining efficiency, making these starbases especially useful in stellar nebulae.

Refining Starbases are expensive alternatives to planetside refineries. Though they require massive amounts of raw minerals they can be useful when your empire lacks natural deposits of rare resources. If you also installed my mod: “Upgradable Refinery Buildings” you gain access to the Synthesis Arrays building which is a huge drain on your mineral income but allows you to yield massive amounts of synthetic resources.

Research Starbases are places of learning where your scientists can perform research in zero-G conditions. Specialized laboratories provide your researchers with even better equipment and controlled environments in which they can perform large scale experiments which may be too dangerous to perform in a planetary environment. If your empire is on good diplomatic terms with a Curator Enclave in it’s territory the station may build a Curator Think Tank which boosts any research performed on the station even further, making it a true linchpin of the Galactic Scientific Community.

Orbital Resort Rings are special starbases that can only be built on Orbital Rings constructed around Resort Worlds. These luxurious stations can support up to four Visitor Terminal modules at their maximum size. These modules increase the housing capacity on the world by +20 per module by literally circumventing the surface construction bans. After building at least one Visitor Terminal there are also two buildings which add either luxury suites (and jobs) for elitist societies (Aristocracies, Theocracies, etc.) or extra space for highly egalitarian societies which are much more willing to share their premium real estate.

Orbital Prison Rings allow your prison wardens to squeeze even more productivity out of their labor camps by cramming most of the prison infrastructure into the orbital ring where the risk of escape is minimal. Prisoners don't need much space and don't deserve much comfort after all. Galactic Emperors can build a special dungeon complex for their pesky political opponents, inspiring terror and enforcing obedience across their empire.

does this modify orbital rings? I'm having an issue with ASPR and trying to troubleshoot the issue

I've just updated this mod to the 3.9 version of the game. I've boosted the science hubs to +5 science of all three types because it was a bit underwhelming before.

will this mod work with expanded starbases if i put it this one under it in the mod order? has anyone ever tested the two? I encountered a bug where multiple starbases are generated per star and i think its do to an old mod and the mod to replace it is expanded starbases

Would you be willing to look into buffing the research buildings somewhat? The forge module gives you 15 alloys, as much as 3 pops on metallurgy without buffs, but the research thingy only seems to give you half a pop's output, maybe one at max. They just feel kinda weirdly balanced like that.

Actually nevermind, I was missing the tech to build Forge-Decks. So it seems to work fine.

Using this mod on 3.7 with NSC seems to mostly work fine.
However the Foundry-Designation does not seem to work (Station with only Foundries is still designated as Mining)

Mid game or New Game?

This seems to be working just fine as of 3.6.1, excellent mod as always with just the observation that the Synthesis Arrays sometimes works and sometimes doesnt (as in it shows up as buildable in some playthroughs and doesnt in others)
