Nomads In Midgard

Description
*Redux version of this mod is available now on the Workshop!*

Nomads In Midgard is a custom scenario inspired by the first Norse level "North" in the Fall Of The Trident campaign. You start in a randomised spawn location and have to search for a settlement to build a Town Center, after that you must survive 5 snow storms where enemies will attack you, If your Town Center falls, all is lost. You can not get god powers in this scenario through ageing up, instead, you must explore the map for hidden Statues of Thor, offering 3 relics to these statues will grant you god powers. Optional side objectives will also appear as the level progresses, completing these will provide extra rewards for your town. That's everything you need to know, good luck have fun!

This mod modifies god powers and techtrees, be sure to disable this mod if you plan to play other scenarios, campaigns or multiplayer.

Details
- Singleplayer only campaign
- All 4 base factions are playable (no chinese DLC support)
- Randomised enemy waves
- Randomised starting locations
- Randomised food, gold and relic placements
- Modified god powers (most god powers in this scenario recharge over time and removed damage caps)
- Over 1000 triggers in total
- 10 Optional mutations (you can pick up to 3 at once)
- 500 X 500 diameter map (considerably bigger than large maps)

Balance
- Your Town Center provides additional pop (you'll be dealing with a lot of enemies, especially as the level progresses)
- Walls and Gates cost more (creating choke points is very easy in this scenario, creating walls stops enemies from approaching from a single direction entirely)
- During storms, your Villagers have reduced LOS and speed (this is to make them more vulnerable and encourage you to play more defensively with them)
- Campfires heal nearby friendly units slowly

Difficulties

Easy
- Begin with bonus resources
- No Fenris Wolves on first attack
- Fewer Nidhoggs

Moderate
- Begin with slightly more resources
- Enemy have classical age tech unlocked

Hard
- Higher frequency of enemies
- More enemy tech unlocked
- Large Gold Mines are replaced with medium ones
- Enemy Nidhoggs deal a small amount of bonus damage to heroes
- Fewer Relics
- Enemy wolves move faster

Titan
- All Norse tech unlocked for enemies
- Relic benefits for enemies
- Enemy myth units deal more damage
- Medium Gold Mines are replaced with small ones
- Enemy Nidhoggs deal a moderate amount of bonus damage to heroes
- Enemy wolves move even faster
- No longer start with a scout (no Pegasus, Raven, Oracle or Priest)

Known Bugs
- Atlantean culture music does not play at the start of the map

Any chance of making a Tug of War map? Always loved that scenario and would love to play it with other gods.

Thats another one on my to-do list... you and Cannibalh are the best AOM modders atm I'd say. Well done sir, for people like me that don't know anything about coding, or triggers, or texture packs... it truly is a blessing.. Especially considering the developers did such a half-arsed effort when they released the Expanded Edition & Chinese DLC.

@matt.j.brown It actually only took me 3 weeks to make, Lonely Sands, my other scenario, was a project that took me over a year to make though, as I was figuring out how to use the editor.

To go about disabling the mod, launch the game and click the steam icon, select Nomads In Midgard and disable it, or if you think you are finished with the mod, you can always unsubscribe as well.

So while I have this mod downloaded i seem to lose all my godpowers in other games as well?
In random maps I start with just my Archaic age power and I dont gain anymore through out the ages..


Wicked mod though super fun, Ive play 4 or 5 games with the myth units only mutation andboy is it fun
If you can research hera in the game youre playing then I recommend that mutation because its a pretty fun mixture having the stronger myth units and only being able to build them
Hel as well makes its a fun one to play

I'm disappointed that is not a literal campaign, but it is a pretty good alternative for survival game.
