If you're feeling OCD about a perfect layout for your base then look no further.

Press Shift-F to begin, press Shift-F again to update buildable area.
Press Ctrl-Shift-1 to remove large rocks, Ctrl-Shift-2 for small ones (shows a confirmation before).
Ctrl-Shift-Alt-D to delete object under mouse (any object and there's no confirmation).

You can rebind keys with the in-game options (scroll to the bottom).


Known Issues:
Stay away from the edges of the map, the game doesn't really like you fiddling around there.

LukeH has a mod to change those, enhanced landscaping I believe.

I think it's funny how they added landscaping mechanics to the game yet we can only level to a flat spot on an existing height, and connect 2 existing heights with ramps, but increasing/decreasing height to a desired level seems impossible.

Is this obsolete because it won't work with the current version of the game or because they added terraforming tools?

If I'm understanding correctly there is still no way to raise or lower terrain or create mountains in the base game?

am seeing something odd. When I switch this menu on to do some light terrain scaping, afterward, what looks like a debug menu appears in the lower left corner of the screen? It shows event driven messages like sector scanning and eventually covers the entire side of the screen. I have to close out the game and restart it to get rid of it, and can confirm it only appears after using the editor.

You have to press it in that order, also you can rebind it in the controls (scroll to the bottom).

I don't have any issues toggling the editor mode?

I try to update the pathing, so it should be fine, though you may need to save/load the map to update some grids.

Never heard of rockets not launching, mind zipping up your logs folder and uploading it somewhere?
