Description
Welcome to the Summermist Plains!

A Builder's Dream! Lots of flat, open terrain for you to build the city of your dreams!

This big open land is almost completely flat in the 25 tiles area. North of the rail line you will find rolling hills, which eventually become large mountains on the edge. The other edge of the map is a large ocean.

Details:

- Big flat open space!
- Completely hand crafted, not based on a real world terrain.
- Surrounded by mountains and an ocean.
- Suitable for various play styles.
- Available connections: Highway, Rail, Ship, Plane.
- Available resources: Ore, Fertile and Forestry.
- Highway and Rail available on starting tile.
- Water movement. There are about 50ish waterspawns and drains on the map, including 2 spawns and 1 drain in the starting tile lake.
- Temperate map.
- Theme: New Caledonia (Custom Pavement)
- 100% vanilla; no mods, assets or DLC required. The Map Theme isn't required to play, but is recommended.
- Perfect for a big, sprawling metropolis!

Designed for use with the 81 Tiles mod. Also playable with the vanilla 9 tiles or the 25 tiles mod.

Don't like the vanilla trees? I hear you. I've used vanilla trees so people can easily replace the trees with any tree of their preference with Prop It Up.
If you want to play it in a different environment (For instance, winter), you can use the Environment Changer (+ Improved Theme Selection) mod.

Intersections: Timboh's Turbine Interchange, CreativeDEX's Frwy Trumpet A10/100 and Eclipse's stack interchange.
Roundabout is a custom build.

This is my first big Builders' Map (I normally make slightly more challenging maps), let me know if you want to see more maps like this with lots of open space!

If you run into any problems or have any questions, please let me know.

And of course all comments, likes and favs are much appreciated! I'd love to see the city you build on it! :)

@AquilaSol heck, that would be it right there. I must have completely forgot I still had tree snapping in my mod list. I just had downloaded the other day unlimited trees, so that must be it. Thanks for the tip.

Are you using both Unlimited Trees and Tree Snapping? Because those two mods are not compatible with eachother and cause trees to float. It has nothing to do with the map.

I don't know if it's just me or not? But there feels like a lot of floating trees in this map that's causing camera issues when you try to zoom in closely. Does anyone else have this issue, or is it just me?

Great map! I'm new to C:S this year, and Summermist is the setting of my first 100k+ megacity. Flat and sprawling and just goes on and on forever!

Thanks for this Map, I'm still exploring it but like it a lot!

@glgamble You don't need 81 tiles for a ship connection.
Three tiles in the bottom right have access to the main shipping route. These are the two major ocean tiles, and the bay tile with the lake&highway access.

(The shipping lane doesn't have to run through a tile to have access to it; the game creates additional routes between the main shipping lane and the harbour when placed. All you need is a directly line across the water from the shore to the shipping lane.)

Mayors who play with the vanilla 9 tiles will have to choose if they want to go for the harbour, or extend inwards and use other methods.

Thanks - great map! You may want to mention in the description that you need the 81 tiles mod to build a harbor (i.e., get ship connections).

This is such a perfect map! Lots of open, flat space to build but still beautiful with ocean and mountains as a backdrop. Great work!
