Welcome to the Riven Isles!

The Riven Isles are a large cluster of islands somewhere on the Northern Hemisphere.

Note: The terrain looks more challenging than it is. Most of the islands have plenty of flat, level build space. While not suited for a massive metropolis, you can still build a fairly large city across the map.

- Temperate map.
- Theme: New Caledonia (Custom Pavement)
- Completely hand crafted, not based on a real world terrain.
- Islands, islands and more islands!
- Many of the larger islands have flat, open terrain.
- Suitable for various play styles.
- Available connections: Highway, Rail, Ship, Plane.
- Available resources: Ore, Fertile and Forestry.
- Highway, Rail and Ships available on starting tile.
- 100% vanilla; no mods, assets or DLC required. The Map Theme isn't required to play, but is recommended.
- Perfect for fthe Mass Transit DLC. Will you use ferries, blimps, monorail or good old-fashioned roads to cross the water? Or maybe not at all!

Designed for use with the 81 Tiles mod. Also playable with the vanilla 9 tiles or the 25 tiles mod.

The starting tile intersection is a heavily modified version of the 3 Way Stack by agusingnavy.

Kudos to Hazard262 for the name!

If you run into any problems or have any questions, please let me know!

And of course all comments, likes and favs are much appreciated! I'd love to see the city you build on it! :)

@AngryDragon That's okay. Finding the right map is part of the fun. :) Hope you find the map you're looking for!

Well sorry then. I've had the chance to load the map. It's good, but it's not what I'm looking for.

That is entirely a matter of personal taste, and in no way relevant to the actual map.

It's a bit tasteless to lecture people on their personal colour preferences, don't you think?

Relight came out a month after this map. No point suggesting settings for something that hadn't been released yet.

Based on the screenshots I see here, I would say that you are PostProcessFX or some other mod which creates occlusion. It's obviously set way too high. The default settings are good enough. I would also guess that you are using Relight? The base settings leave the map a bit too dark. I've had to play with it quite a bit on my own end to get it setup just about right.

Otherwise, good work, this map has me curious. I'll give it a shot.

@Genomecop There are several waterspawns and drains. However, like in the real world, not every location has a perfect water drain. You'll need to look for a good location in the Water view, or use a non-polluting method.

Playing this now. The one big problem is there is no current in the body of water so your polution just sits there.

genuinely incredible,

This is really great map. Just be careful not to build multi track train station on the cliffs because it will mess up pedestrian access to platforms. Odd tracks may not be accessible due to excessive bending.
