Blue Dawn: Rise of Nationality is a mod created to show you guys the conflict in Afghanistan between the Soviets and the Afghans and the conflict in the Balkan in the Yugoslav State and maybe educate you guys in what was going on there.. The thing we want this mod to be focused on is realism and historical events. We researched our intel which we are using by reading loads of stories and articles of the war written by both sides. Also, we will not tolerate any political opinion posted on our forums or mods because this will be punished by a straight ban.

Soviet-Afghan War:

When in the 1970s the Afghan Government which got support of the USSR was in a disaray because the old fashioned tribes in the mountains were having an uprise the Afghan Gov. called for the help of the USSR.
When they called USSR forces for help the Soviet forces had hit heavy enemy contact in the mountains and the Mujahadeen were waging a guerilla war against them. Now the Soviets send a bunch more troops to Afghanistan to counter the rebellion. This escalated in a huge brutal proxy war between the West and the East.

Yugoslav Wars:

When the people of Yugoslavia became more proud of their nationality a lot of states wanted to break away from the state that had kept them united since Tito. The Yugoslav Army consisted mostly of Serbian and Montegrins so the other people felt opressed as a minority. First Slovenia broke away in a rather peaceful way with only 10 days of war. Then the other states wanted to break away only this didn't go without any resistance. A bloody civil war between many ethnicities and beliefs occured and fueled the hate of each other a lot more.

1st Chechen War:

After the collapes of the Soviet Union in 1991 new states formed out of the terretorry of the former USSR and Chechnya was one of the 15 new countrys to leave the USSR eventhough it wasnt reconized by the majority of countries as a sovering state and still counted under Russian territorry, attempts to seperate from Russia were made and were on the way to sucess with that Plan. Economical cirppeld Russia wasnt to happy with that desicion as the Caucasus as an oil rich area and would have killed the Russian economy which was bad at the times not thinkable for Boris Yelzin who wanted to win the votes as president of Russia. After a failed attempt to bring down Dudayev that ende up with Russian soldiers trying to enforce russian loyal chechens which ended in a failure and on december 1994 the Russian army perpared an invasion that would leave a deep scar in Chechnya for 3 years

2nd Chechen War:

In 1999 after Vladimir Putin became prime minister elected by Yeltzin, the metro bombings took place. Quickly responsible people were found the so called Chechens. After the disaster of the first war for both Chechnya and Russia. Chechnya was heavily isolated and heavily hit by the outcome of the first Chechen war and also the presence of radical islamists in the area made for a dangerous mixture for further attacks. Though the main points for the 2nd war were the Moscow Apartment bombing (belived to be orchestrated by the FSB or radical Chechens, heavily controversial topic) and the attack by the "Islamic Liberation Brigade" on the still Russian province of Dagestan taking place in summer 1999 after these events Vladimir Putin made a quick decision "There is no border with Chechnya".

Russo-Georgian War:

There has always been a conflict between the Georgians and the minorities. But after the wars of 1992-1993 with Abhkezia the Georgians started having a conflict with the seperatist movement from South Ossetia as well and this one was also supported by the Russian Federation who believed Abhkazia and South Ossetia should be part of the Russian Federation. When in 2008 the Georgian Armed Forces started attacking a big South Ossetian stronghold the Russian Government retaliated and send peacekeepers and combat troops to counter the Georgian advance and keep the peace. The outcome of these peacekeepers weren't what they were intented to do. Separatist began shooting from Russian Peacekeepers positions to Georgian Frontlines. This was to provoke Georgia into shooting at the Russians so that Russia would declare war. Eventually Russia send tanks and combat troops to South Ossetia which in the Georgian president eyes was an invasion of Georgian sovereign land so Georgia retaliated. This turned into a deadly war of ethnic cleansing and fighting in urban environments.

• Reworked Supply System: We've reworked the supply system so that if you run out of ammo because you only have limited ammo you really need to find an source of ammo (Looting death bodies or Ammo Truck).
  
• New Hitbox System: This system makes the place you hit on the body actually matter.
  
• Reworked Body Armor System: Makes the usage of Body Armor important because it can save the soldiers life in critical moments.
  
• Realistic Tanks: Controlling tanks will actually feel like they do in real life and the way to work with armor is realistic just like in RobZ.
  
• New Helicopter System: Your Helicopter will hover now like it is done in real life so they will be a real threat to ground forces.
  
• Reworked Recoil/Accuracy System: This system will make your weapons feel like they have realistic recoil and make weapons feel much more immersive.
  
• Reworked Weight System: Weight is now a real important factor because weight slows your units down by a lot and this might get your soldiers get killed if it is not properly handled.
  
• Reworked Armor System: This system will make armor react differently to various kind of shells.
  
• New Mortar System: Soldiers will now actually take cover when they hear a mortar flying in.
  
• Random Texture System: With this system faces will be randomized to give you an immersive feeling to the game.
  
• Reworked Weapon System: All weapons have been reworked so they have their real life fire rate, muzzle velocity and weight.
  
• New Armies/Forces: We've added the combatants of every involved party in our mod.
  
• New Death Cries and Sounds: We've added sounds to the game that will make explosions and people dying sound much more realistic and scary.

  Do not look at the steam file size counter because it is bugged. The mod is much larger than the counter displays.
