Location of/Changing, or Adding Music Files
So, SR:R Workshop Community, I'm currently working on a custom campaign for this wonderful game and, during it's development, I've hit a bit of a snag. I cannot, for the life of me, find where the editor finds the music files.

I'm wanting to add custom music to my campaign, but I can't if I can't find the music file directory.

So, basically: Does anybody want to help me locate this directory?

Thanks,
~Josh from Nothingtobeseenhere

Thanks The Godfather! This is great to hear. Who knows? We may be able to crack into this code and figure out a method to add music! :squirtyay:
I'm not at my computer, so don't have time at the moment to test it out or really dig into the details, but this looks like it might be able to help? Maybe?

You said "every bit of info helps", so I figure maybe a "Unity Assets Explorer" might be a step in the right direction? I'll test it out when I get back to my computer later tonight (if someone else doesn't get to it first)
Oh this definitely looks interesting! Thanks for the link. I'll have to take a look into this. :squirtyay:
So, has anyone found anything new yet? I've tried searching through the asset files with the tools that The Godfather pointed me to, but I have not found anything yet.

Thanks тоска! Hopefully you find a way in!

So after I got home I dug around a little bit and this is where I'm at...
I don't think I'm saavy enough to unpack the .asset files, I downloaded Unity and tried messing with them to no avail. Before I went to sleep I had a breakthrough though.

Maybe you can use Unity to create your own asset files and point the editor at those for your music? I won't know untill I have a few days off and some time to tinker but it's a start.

That sounds pretty interesting. I'll give it a try! Also, try using this to crack into those asset files. I've been able to get promising results: http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=10085 (Courtesy of The Godfather)
I'm unpacking them now. Good find with that unpacker. One can always count on The Godfather.
Hahahaha, alright. I'll keep searching as well.
The hunt continues...
Yeah, I gave it a shot, and no luck here either. I think I'm officially giving up for now. If there is a way to hack into this thing, and make the custom music happen, it's somewhere way above my head. And even if I did figure out how to do it, if it takes breaking apart assetbundles, and swapping stuff out, and matching file sizes, and recompiling, and then even if that worked, figuring out a way to call that music from inside the editor, and then ON TOP OF THAT, try to figure out a flexible way to implement the music on a situational basis from inside the game, especially with more than 1-2 songs, etc...

It's just too complicated... I think the wind is officially out of my sails at this point, in regards to creating custom content for this engine. I was well on my way to creating a Splinter Cell style stealth game out of this, until I hit that "no custom sounds" roadblock, and then *pfffffft* My love for it fizzled...

I sincerely hope the guys over at HBS reconsider the custom audio in a future release, and if that day ever comes, I will come running back to this thing like Rihanna ran back to Chris Brown... but until that day comes, I'm just going to sit here feeling wounded and dejected. This engine was ALMOST the best thing since sliced bread for me... but now I'm beginning to question whether or not I even LIKE bread...

I'll continue to check out all of the stuff the other creators are making in the meantime.

Sorry to hear that you couldn't find anything. Thanks for trying anyways, though. Also, if you know anyone who can help out, please, direct them here! We could use all the help we can get.
Resources.assets.resS is actually just a bundle of multiple ogg files listed one after the other. Use OggExtract to separate them.

Sweet. Thanks, Quibbage. I'll check this out, right away! :squirtyay:
Credit goes to Zetor on the Shadowrun: Returns modding IRC channel on Freenode! :P He also found you could repackage it all with new ogg files and the editor will recognize them.
