How long is too long?
I just wanted to hop on and ask a question. more an opinion poll then anything.
After a big game update like we just had, how long is reasonable to wait for mods to update?

obviously bigger mods like giga and its spin offs its going to take a while but?

I'd say a couple of weeks to a month dpeending on the specific mod, what it changes and the actual dev being active or not. usually for bigger mods, or so I've heard, the paradox team will actually hand them over the new code in advance to ensure they don't take too long for the mod to stay updated.

considering the number of mods all over paradox's workshop? yes.

some of these mods havent been actually updated since 2.
Some mods don't get updated, because the mod maker understandably moves on from the game or whatever.

I tend to wait 3 to 6 months for those mods I care about the most. Many modders have lives and this game is real old. Not everyone is still playing after nearly 10 years.

If the mod is small to medium in size and complexity, it's worth going into the mod files and looking to see if you could update it yourself. Most of the games files are text based and just take practice to edit.

I've done this with several mods before. Either that, or look at how you might be able to replicate the effects of the mod you really can't do without, via some other means. I've used modded empire modifiers, given by an event that I've manually triggered via console, to gain the effect of a mod, that wasn't updated for years. It isn't quite the same but it can work.
