What mods are you running?
I see that there is around 20 pages of mods and not sure which ones are essential to making the base game better. With that many mods there is also the issue of compatability. So can anyone share a list of all the mods they are using?

Sort on stars, and most good ones float up.

IMO, the only unmissable one is Tibbles' Racial Reskin. If you allow plugs, check my Corrupt the Source - Extensions, and I have a couple really small mods as well.

For me the Empire Building Mod is the one that really shines. I also like some of the spellbook mods that make the summoning spells less random.
