Any tutorials on how to clone skills?
I like the idea of making my own class and I have watched some Youtube videos on how to use GUTS.

But I can't see myself designing my own skills complete w/ animations and effects.

What I would like to do is clone the skills I like and combine them into a class.

Anyone know of a tutorial where it explains how to clone skills and add them to the character I have made?

Thanks Steffire!

Yes video was very helpful - followed it to the "T" as far as I can tell - and then when I was 3/4's of the way thru - GUTS ran out of memory crashed - and since then even after rebooting my pc - GUTS will not run again :(

Steffire I found this guide by Natasha; it was better for me as it was laid out step by step and very visual; https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=138588277

Although I am still having problems copying skills - I am on TL2 Discord most times - not sure if you are comfortable around using GUTS; I have most of it done - but I am getting an error message "SkillTreeoverrifes/SKILL_TREE_TITAN.layout is invalid for this scene."

I have never modded in Guts although I have used Guts to upload mods for modders onto the Steam Workshop. My knowledge is limited however I'm good at finding info on the internet usually.

Hopefully this Link will help.

That issue can fixed by selecting the UI layout tab in the bottom left hand corner and the trying to load the skill tree layout. Guts auto defaults to scene layout and the UI layout files will not load on the scene tab.

Maybe it's a typo but I notice you have written 'SkillTreeoverrifes' instead of 'SKILLTREEOVERRIDES'. The directories are not case sensitives but the spelling has to be accurate.

Thanks everyone! I finally figured it out.

For anyone else with this issue;

"If you make a custom skill and it doesn't show up on your skill tree, make sure it has it's own GUID number and own name (use a text editor), then go into the .layout file and make sure it's widget name is the same name of your skill; go into the player panel and select skill from menu - save everything, shut GUTS down and boot it up again.

Now if I can just figure out how to edit or modify skills. For instance I want to increase the knock back of Seismic Slam or add a knockback to an already existing skill.

But I don't really understand how affixes work - and I can't seem to find a thorough understandable guide on it.

I don't want to make a new skill.

I simply want to take an existing skill and modify it.

Also I am in Discord TL2 in general every day if anyone wants to pop by and chat about modding; etc...

To do the affix changes you need to look at the skill and find out which affix that skill is using. Once you know this you can then go into the affixes and adjust it accordingly. The guys over at torchmodders have a decent guide on affixes and what some of the terms mean.
