What's the best way to make a map?
See title. I could theoretically make it out of simple geometries, but I don't want to, since there's not really a good way to texture them.

Make modualar map parts. You can mix and and match inside the game engine. https://youtu.be/QBAM27YbKZg I already posted this. If Erik hits me up and shares some source code I might help him make a level builder.

Edit: Great point in video 43:10

I figured I would do modular stuff, but having one model for each time a texture tiles doesn't sound like a good idea, lag-wise.

I'd love for a built-in Level Editor to exist, but I doubt it'll happen anytime soon. As for helping with the design of maps, I can't say I can help, other than to just forgo textures altogether, unless we can come up with some other solution to Blender's inability to loop Textures.

Best way right now is either to do each part by hand with Size & Scale or use probuilder.

but then you can't use textures, and probuilder sucks unless you pay way too much for a simple tool

I just had a realization that in many cases a basic level concept sketch or primitive mockup would be about as useful as a full 3D modeled level, since I have to do so much work on my end anyways.

So if you're not really into the 3D modeling thing, feel free to submit a drawing of your level layout and I can take it from there.
