AC Mod - Alternative Creatures
Hi!

I made a global mod for Heroes VII. Its goal is to give every faction 2 more alternative creatures to choose from. The creatures come from the pool of the ones that were - until now - neutral. Choosing an alternative creature instead of a standard one is possible the same way champion creatures are chosen - by building the right town dwelling. The mods now also introduces (or reintroduces) 10 new creatures. Short list of alternatives:

Haven: Griffins and Radiant Glories
Academy: Shantiri Golems and Efreeti
Necropolis: Juggernauts and Succubi
Stronghold: Mermaids and Air Elementals
Sylvan: Kappas, White Tigers and Earth Elementals
Dungeon: Cave Panthers and Faceless

Yes, in theory it is definitely possible. Adding a new faction is technically very doable as well as adding new creatures. H7 system is quite open and the number of factions or creatures is not hard coded. In practice the biggest problem - next to the amount of work needed - would be 3D animations. While we can import 3D models from H6, we cannot do so yet with animations. So either we need a way to import or have a 3D animator to make new ones.

But techically and theoretically - yes, we have the possibilities to add how many factions and creatures we want. The game's code does not limit us.

I kinda like it ^^
When I first saw an artwork for this creature, I laughed for 2 minutes. I don't think it should be treated seriously.

Great mod, but shoehorning Inferno creatures into Necropolis and Stronghold / Academy throws me off a bit.

- Added 10 new creatures: Radiant Glories, Efreet Sultans, Juggernauts, Succubi, Nereids, Kappa Shoyas, Cave Panthers, Faceless, Faceless Assassins and Sea Elf Renegades
- Modified growth buildings to include alternative creatures
- Moved Efreeti to Academy and Air Elementals to Stronghold
- Replaced Darkness Elementals in Dungeon with Faceless. Elementals are neutral again.
- Added Kappas as a third alternative in Sylvan
- New creatures and White Tigers can spawn as neutral stacks. They also appear in Heropedia.
- Various small tweaks and stat changes
- Updated website

I think if I could make a creature mod like this then this is what I would do:

1. Sylvan
take treant out of champion spot and replace the deer with treants and balance the stat's accordingly and make treants melee tanks

2. Dungeon
take hydras out of champion spot and replace striders with hydras and balance the stat's accordingly

3. Necropolis
take lamasu out of elite spot and replace spiders with mummies
take grim rider out of champion spot and rename them to death knight and make them take the lamasu elite spot and balance the stat's accordingly

4. Academy
make the upgraded version of golems be steel instead of sandstone. rename base version to stone golem
make gargoyles not immune to magic but instead 80% resistant
replace arcane eagle with phoenix
rename apprentice to magi and arch magi
replace healing tent with floating mana crystal that restores mana per turn rather than healing units
make cabir not immune to fire but instead 80% resistant
replace rakshasa with whirling dervish creature design concept[vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net]

5. Haven
make the healing sister a regular tier 1 unit that heals and does melee. replace the dogs with healing sisters. make healing sisters able to resurrect if they heal passed a single unit's health threshold.
replace healing (warefare unit) with healing/medic tent
replace catapault with trebuchet (keep the same stat's)
take landsknect out of champion spot. replace guardian with landsknecht. balance stat's accordingly (keep cone of attack ability). rename to swordsman and crusader

6. Stronghold
replace brutes with wolves. balance stat's accordingly. remove feral charge and replace it with double attack. increase movement of wolves by 1.
increase health of wyvern by 5. increase movement of wyvern by 1. increase defense of wyvern by 2. rename to wyvern and wyvern monarch. make the acid spit a passive ability that decreases enemy armor with each attack instead of doing direct damage.
rename cyclops upgrade to cyclops champion. make them throw rocks (non upgraded) and retaliate with melee; when upgraded they fire eye laser as basic attack (not activated ability) and retaliate with melee

AWFUL! sylvan is the best line up till now. coherent, fresh and it works altogether!!!!

AWFUL! striders are an extremely good idea for dungeon! minotaurs got replaced by the facelss and the facelss should have the passive buff the warmachine has, but it would only work for striders since they are the striders' masters.
medusa can be replaced by the arcane archer, troglodyte by the panther, and tracker by the evil eye/beholder. as for the warmachines, a witch for the buff and a "Dark ballista" for attack!!

AWFUL! necropolis works fine, the vampire could be replaced with the night lady since necro has only the ghost for a female unit!! also necromancy need another nerf it is still too powerful!

why all the renamings?? it's stupid! go play heroes 3 already! will ya!!
but i do agree about the immunitites. not balanced at all!

i agree about the sister but that's it. guardians are awesome unlike you!

i never cared for stronghold really.

I'm damn tempted to stop playing Trial by Fire. I just can't get into the Dwarves, where as, they killed the Dead and they sorely need a second shooter. I'll think about this for a while. I love the map Alternate History and not having that 7th race for the final spot kind of unblances it. I'll continure to hope you can get this mod to work with Trial by Fire, the Dwarves need help badly too.

this mod has magic written all over it

if this mod was finished and included ALL the totally badass new additions that acid dragon and other talented artists have worked on for this mod........

this would be the most EPIC FREE dlc in history

for those that are curious, google acid dragon and see what insane work they have done

this game has been a huge go to for years for the whole family
lets hope it still has a future
