How To Play With More Than 4 Players

This guide will teach you how to install my mod for larger lobby sizes in PEAK!

Features include:
- Raising the max player limit
- Adding additional marshmallows for your extra climbers
- Adds extra backpacks proportional to number of players (in line with balance of game)
- Fixes the end screen
- Configurable via an in game menu (Press F2) or configuration file

Do achievements work?
- Yes!
Does only the host need this?
- Yes! Only the host needs to install this mod! Other players can optionall install the mod to see a working end screen!
Is the mod safe?
- Yes, you can view the code on github.
Is the mod still working after the most recent update?
- In all likelihood yes - try it before asking. Please report any issues to the github page.

Installation

This can now be installed via thunderstore! https://thunderstore.io/c/peak/p/glarmer/PEAK_Unlimited/

Only the host needs to install this mod!

Manual Install
1.) Download Bepinex from here https://github.com/BepInEx/BepInEx/releases/download/v5.4.23.3/BepInEx_win_x64_5.4.23.3.zip

2.) Extract the contents of that zip into your game directory (default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PEAK) resulting in a folder that has the following files:



3.) Start the game and close it again, this does the first time set up for BepInEx.
This creates the bepinex/plugins folder, it is necessary

- If you are on linux add the startup command: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b" %command%

4.) Download the mod from here (Click Manual Download): https://thunderstore.io/c/peak/p/glarmer/PEAK_Unlimited/

5.) Open the downloaded zip file. Copy and paste the PeakUnlimited.dll file into your PEAK directory - (steam directory)\PEAK\BepInEx\plugins. All the other files can be ignored.

If you don't have a plugins folder, you either need to do step 3, or your bepinex installation is incorrect.

6.) Run the game

Configuration
- Configuration can be found at: (steam directory)\PEAK\BepInEx\config\PeakUnlimited.cfg

Important

- DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE COMPLAIN ABOUT BUGS TO THE DEVELOPERS WHILE USING MODS. UNINSTALL MODS IF YOU ENCOUNTER BUGS AND THEN REPORT THEM IF THEY ARE STILL PRESENT.

- Always check the steam discussions first if you experience a bug, it seems the game has a few common issues that are unrelated to the mod and you may find a solution there.

- Try swapping between DX12 and Vulkan if you are having issues. Personally I find DX12 to work best.

I'm doing the WINEDLLOVERRIDES but it doesn't seem to work. I get no folder created for plugins to put the PEAK DLL into. Is there an additional step I'm missing for Linux? My distro is Mint which is Debian based.

I seem to have the same issue as @tomb. Is there anyone else who has this and knows how to fix? I use Vortex.

I noticed that sometimes when someone late join, one or two players start to see the late joiner as super glitched and as if they teleport around all over the map. It never happened to me as the host tho. Can this be due to something with the mod? Not a big issue, since a rejoin tends to fix it most of the time.

@Agent-Spider it should do. If you install the mod you can check it's working by pressing the menu key (F2 by default). If a small menu opens in the top left then the installation was successful.

Also if you find it easier you can use a mod manager like Gale or R2Modman to automatically install peak mods

Hi Glarmer, I just wanted to know if the Bepinex you linked on here will still work with the peak unlimited mod. It's probably a stupid question but I wanted to make sure since I'm playing with a few friends and my gf this Sunday

Turns out it had to do with file write access level in the Program Files(x86) folder. I tried launching Steam in admin mode and removing the read-only flag in the game folder (just in case). Works now!

@glarmer also confirmed it works when I tried on a different pc. Maybe I have something funky going on with my main pc, since I also noticed BeplnEx only creates folder & write outputs when I launch the game directly via exe instead of the Steam launcher on my main PC.

@Lemon the mod is working on the most recent version. Make sure you have the most recent version of the mod from Thunderstore and do you have other mods installed - they may be causing issues

Hi @glamer, any chance this is confirmed working in recent v.1.27.a? I get the correct logs with no error for mod installation with config, but I'm still not able to open the config menu (tried binding to different keys too) or see lobby metadata on the top left you mentioned in one of the earlier comments.
