Exo Miner
August 11, 2015 - SwanseaAxeman

Due to some unfortunate events, we have lost our lead designer and programmer for the project and run out of development funding. We are looking at our options at the moment, but there is a possibility we may have to either cancel the project until we get some funding or hand it over to the lead designer and programmer to finish.

We were dealing with a publisher for over 9 months in the hope of them funding and publishing the project, though after several 'yes we will fund it' and then 'sorry we don't have the cash, try us in a few months' we realised this was not going to happen. But we had already wasted lots of time and money pursuing this avenue.

This is not at all how we wanted it to go, but without staff and finance to finish the game it will be very difficult to get the game completed in a timely fashion. I thank everyone for their support so far and hope we can sort this out and get back onto development, but I feel it is unfair to hold this information back from you.

We don’t want to end up with something we aren’t proud of and would rather put the game on hold until we secure enough funds to develop it properly. I hope you all can understand that this is painful for us to announce, but it is the right thing to do.

As mentioned we are not giving up on Exo Miner and you all deserve to have the game we want to make and not some 'quick, throw it together to make a few bucks' cash in.

I thank everyone again who voted for us and if we go to KickStarter I hope some of you will still continue to support us.

We have been extremely busy for the last 6 months and have not updated anything on this page, though we did put a development blog together in September.

So, where have we been for the last 6 months? Firstly, we moved out of our old office and into a shiny new office closer to the city centre. This took us a little while as we couldn't move in immediately because there were a few delays we couldn’t do anything about. We spent the best part of a month having to work from home which isn’t a major problem, but it did mean more disruption.

After moving into our lovely office with lemon yellow walls..... Yes, lemon yellow!! We have been busy working on some core components of our engine and game systems for Exo Miner. The main updates have been tying up the procedural galaxy zones and building space stations. We showed the new procedural planets in our last development blog and those planets play an important part in navigating star systems.

We will be more visible from here on in and will be back to making Developmet Blogs every 4-6 weeks, or when we have something awesome to show. :)

Big super massive thanks to everyone who voted for us and made Greenlight a reality. We are busy working on the game and will have some new footage to show soon and will have a demo available some time after that.

Can’t wait to show you what we have been working on. Till then, thank you folks.

Development Blast #03 is now live on the Exo Miner blog site.

This month we take a little look at some of the artwork and concepts for some of the ships we will have in the game. There are only 4 of us in the team and as a result we all have to chip in with the artwork, but most of the concepts here are done by Tim.

Will keep everyone updated on further developments.
