Thanks CJ! Heroquest is an awesome game - both boardgame and the remake (http://members.quicknet.nl/lm.broers/index.htm) - so assume you wil be creating a series of tiny rooms that you flick between - perhaps try and create a method to generate dungeons so once you've built one, the others ouwld be simple to recreate - I don't think there is a decent completed turn-based battle-system for VX Ace, but MV I heard might have some: depends how much like a boardgame you want to make it. [some games like Bloodbowl and Talisman are inspirations too]. Good Luck! Keep us posted! Would love to see the first Goblin-filled room! (with a Gargoyle boss!)

This is neat, and totally made my day! I'm working on a version of the classic DOS game Hero Quest for RPG Maker, any suggestions or insight about how to port an old CRPG to RPG Maker?

...oh, and just to add: press'k' to issue group commands, and each female character and most male characters have fairly unique battle-cries: Wuuf barks like a bitch, (and Sonja shouts like Gwen Stefani) so jsut FYI. So hope you enjoy this: they also have individual 'ouch' noises, various grunts and shouts as you battle: meantion this as Wuf is one of my favourite battle-cries ;). [and hold 'K' to recall group: hopefully equally satisfying ;) ] cheers all.

Well from what I've played so far it's still amazing and I hope you keep doing this sort of thing because with the effort that went in here you could go semi-professional. I also bet some people would actaully pay money to play this kind of game too.

And yes, I will even offer cameos for users' PCs for game reviews in future versions... just to see if people actually like this sort of game mash-up idea. but hey, a trickle of interest is stil linterest, :D. thanks again for all the nice messages of support.

This is a fan-made tribute to the almighty 1987 FTL Doug Bell / Andy Jaros et al classic dungeon-crawler - but top-down and with a ton of backstory and side-quests.
