Stirring Dragon Games  [author] Jan 21 @ 5:23pm
@dugalm Sorry no demo or early access planned. We would rather put all our efforts into finishing the game completely instead of releasing and maintaining demos.
dugalm Jan 21 @ 12:41pm
is there a demo to try?

seans_maddi Jan 20 @ 10:32am
Gratz ! Its nice to see that some people wants to bring back the "good old feeling" !!!!!

f1lupo Jan 17 @ 5:55am
backed this on kickstarter and can't wait to play it on my Commodore 64 the way I played Ultima IV when I was in my early yeen years!
Ultima fan? C64 fan? TRUE old school RPG fan? YA GOTTA GET THIS !!!
Fie Claussell Jan 16 @ 10:00pm
I never really got into actual old school RPGs, but this game might be that spark, what with all the modern design enhancements it has. It is 2017 and there is a game being developed for the C64. You are madmen. Take my money.
Spooky Deg Jan 16 @ 2:54pm
Looks great, definitely would buy ;D
zachjaggers Jan 16 @ 1:26pm
Looks amazing and deep and the graphics actually seem to add to the atmosphere. Reminds me of the good old days of RPGS
Wayward Son Jan 16 @ 8:03am
Been following this on the Codex and recently caught up! A game that reminds of the old Ultimas, that is a true goal to work for.
LostPenwell Jan 15 @ 4:46pm
Looks great! (Love the Rush poster) ...Also, backed on Kickstarter. I'm excited to get adventuring!
Parallax Jan 15 @ 12:37pm
One of the games like in the good old days... an RPG which takes you deeply in an Adventure. More People than now have to get notice about that this game is getting real!
ioloavatar84 Jan 15 @ 6:59am
Ultima and just like the Questron series...Going to check out the kickstarter .Have my support .
Blazerstrike Jan 14 @ 4:10pm
Love the idea and yes the feelies are real. :P
Nasty Nate Jan 14 @ 3:13pm
This has become my most anticipated game of 2017. Ultima V has and will always be my favorite rpg, can't wait to play this!
BrianHammerhand Jan 14 @ 8:43am
Exactly what we needed and took me by surprise. Will be writing about this in the next 'Walkabout book.
Braindead [GER] Jan 13 @ 5:17pm
Since i am a kid of the eighties and i still have a (heavily modded) C64, i was going YEEAAHHH ! When i herad about the game.
tyfash Jan 13 @ 6:34am
Nowadays many games have great graphics but no soul. On Unknown Realm I feel the effort and love that Stirring Dragon Games put into it. So therefore I can't wait playing it but take your time to make it even greater! Kick its start and back for it, I'm convinced its worth!
Bahototh Jan 13 @ 5:25am
I'm convinced! Bring it! So looking forward to this.
Stirring Dragon Games  [author] Jan 13 @ 5:06am
@Germano_Mosconi You're welcome and thank you for supporting us on KS and on Steam! We decided to make our overworld slightly smaller than Ultima V, although we have lots more locations to visit and explore in that world, so in terms of actual tile locations you can explore it's actually much larger. We didn't make over 1500 tiles for nothing (Ultima V had 512 tiles). Our town, castles, etc..are also larger than Ultima V's which had only 32x32 location grid sizes.
Stirring Dragon Games  [author] Jan 13 @ 4:47am
@bwendt No hype, we were already funded on Kickstarter long before going on Greenlight. :) Although we won't lie, we would like some of you digital only players to experience an old school RPG like they used to be made, with physical manuals, cloth maps, and feelies! If we can convince only one, we'll be happy. :)
bwendt Jan 13 @ 2:38am
Kickstarter hype!
Germano_Mosconi Jan 12 @ 6:57pm
Thank you Stirring Dragon for making me truly look forward to a new Game! This hasn't happened in a very long time. I've backed for the C64 collectors edition and can't wait! Question: how big hill the land be in comparison to say Ultima V?
Stirring Dragon Games  [author] Jan 12 @ 2:54pm
@PolyHertz Some of what you're seeing is just a byproduct of video capture and GIF capture that doesn't show up in actual gameplay. These capture slower than the rate at which the game runs.
PolyHertz Jan 12 @ 2:30pm
Yes I understand what you're going for with this, I grew up on games in the 80s too. That said, I don't remember screen tearing being a universal issue back then, so I was just curious if it could be toggled. Not a huge deal if it can't, but would be nice to have.
Stirring Dragon Games  [author] Jan 12 @ 10:14am
@polyhertz While this game pushes the limits on what previous 8-bit rpg's from the 80's accomplished, it will still deliver an experience more in line with those classical rpg's, such as the early Ultimas, etc. Keep in mind the game is in pre-alpha and not fully optimized yet. However, in the end, it's still a different style of game from the smooth scrolling or 120FPS action rpgs people might be used to these days.
Bahototh Jan 12 @ 10:11am
Yes! yes. yes.
PolyHertz Jan 12 @ 9:16am
For the video options, will it be possible to turn off the screen tearing thats shown in the video?
HiddenX Jan 11 @ 1:29pm
Nice!
Shades of Bath Jan 11 @ 9:44am
This looks like a lovely, professionally made homage to older rpgs like Ultima.
I'm sold looking at the screenshots. A very solid looking game that I'm glad to give my upvote!
TD Bauer Jan 11 @ 8:19am
@Raptor85 LOVED Legacy of the Ancients, and Legend of Blacksilver as well. Both were great games I thoroughly enjoyed playing on my C128 back in the 80s. Backed this as well on Kickstarter, love the feelies and can't wait to have an actual game box in my hands again that harkens back to the glory days of gaming, which for me was the mid 80s to early 90s. Can't wait to see this on Steam if it gets approved.... will for sure buy a handful of keys to give away as gifts.
dugalm Jan 11 @ 5:59am
the fact that it is available for the MAC is a big plus for me!
Chefdachs Jan 11 @ 1:23am
i love that game design :)
Natural Outrage Jan 10 @ 11:57pm
Oh man awesome cover/store art
Raptor85 Jan 10 @ 8:52pm
definitely feeling the ultima vibe in this one, and aged as those games are their gameplay still stands. It's incredible to hear the name legacy of the ancients in the description as well, I was starting to think i'm the only person alive who fondly remembers that game.... voted yes and followed, it's clear theres a LOT of work put into this and the game looks very solid, if only the other 99.9% of greenlight entries would try this hard...
Barbaroi Jan 10 @ 8:30pm
I honestly don't know if I'd buy a game like this just cause it's retro, its rather stylized I will give it that.
