Thanks for the quick response! I'm going to conclude you're not building in Unity (like half the world lately) :)

It sounds like they could complement one another well.

I like details, but use Mac. <sigh>

Again, thanks for the response. :)

As far as I understand Mapfogre operates large blocks, and DPS operates detalis.

We do not plan to release for Mac in the near future.
dulcaoin Feb 28 @ 12:46pm
How does this compare to MapForge (currently in Kickstarter)? That one seems to be oriented torwards art packs as a big focus.

Also, any plans for a Mac version the Dungeon Painter Studio?
Pullo Feb 26 @ 12:48pm
Great work, Thank you!
CJSchou Feb 24 @ 10:44am
Pleasss get relleased soonnnnn... i have been waiting patient but i cant keep the intrest going
Wynter Feb 22 @ 11:45am
I'm excited to use this for my sessions! I normally use dungeon generators because I host over fantasy grounds, but with a program like this, I can create a digital map with ease to share with my players. I do use the online painter - however with a actual digital download of this, I'll use it all the time. I hope to see it soon! Goodwork!

Great thing

I can barely wait for this tool as well. Currently creating my first campaign and the ocean of mediocre tools is out there. The easiest job (consider that I know the software from before) have been either RPG Maker or Photoshop, both kinda tedious in their own ways and Dungeon Painter being the easiest/best browser version so far. This is going to make the job as a DM so much easier and mapping out stuff will be a dream.

Keep up the good work!

Don't mean to be impatient, do I need to add something to a kickstarter? Our Star Wars RPG starts soon and this editor will make map making so much easier and so much more awesome. As soon as this drops, its mine!
Tolstoj Feb 20 @ 6:37am
Pyro, I must thank you for all the hard work you've put into this application. Dungeon Painter is something I've been waiting for, for months - and I've been using the online app for all my Encounter maps. DP Studio has seriously made developing my campaign a breeze, and that much more immersive when I try painting a picture for my players. Kick ass work, m88.
KOOD Feb 19 @ 9:33pm
Looks great! Keep up the hard work pyro! "The mind is the limit, as long as the mind can envision it, nothing is impossible." - cool Schwarzenegger (cira 1979)
Negathus Feb 18 @ 12:03am

Any estimate on sale price?
pyro  [author] Feb 16 @ 1:32pm
Hope sales will begin next week
Pullo Feb 16 @ 9:21am
@Shumaker2001 - on the 26th of last month we got a "very soon." So hopefully any day, I know I am snatching this up as soon as it hits. I've already started my campaign on roll20, and this is going to make map creation so much easier.
Shumaker2001 Feb 15 @ 9:54am
Around when will this be available? I'm starting a DnD group and this tool seems really useful.
Drauganar Feb 14 @ 1:56pm
Genial para las partidas de rol. Organiza un poco mejor los menus o nombra los iconos. Mucho tiempo buscando puertas.

to Ficklespark : default resolution is 70 pixels per square (optimal for roll20.net) , and you may choose another value between 32 and 200 pixels. Look at the last screenshot for details. You may change square pixel size value in online tool too (at export options).
Ficklespark Feb 11 @ 9:46am
This looks exactly like the very thing I've been wanting to have for a long time (and couldn't be bothered to make myself), so many, many thanks for that! Now, I have a question, what resolution (in pixels per grid square) is this softwared optimized to work with? I've been using the online tool, but the assets are mostly low-res in relation to the grid size and don't look that good when printed out at a scale of one grid square per inch.
Kanbie Feb 10 @ 11:11pm
@Ash... Haushaltswaren, That isn't a problem; Valve is just going to let everyone release programs instead of having them go through greenlight. Also, steam has already reached out to Pyro upon the greenlighting of his program. Use Pyro's web release until he finishes his steam project, you may be pleasently surprised how well the webapp works!
Ash... Haushaltswaren! Feb 10 @ 9:53pm
Valve wants to delete greenlight, so hurry up the release, so that the programm wont get scapped entirely.
Mercanist Feb 10 @ 8:19pm
Is it possible to get beta access? Would greatly be appreciated!
Proxy_Gnome Feb 6 @ 3:59pm
@Pullo
Thanks for pointing that out. I somehow skipped over that when reading through the comments. Thanks :D
Pullo Feb 6 @ 3:24pm

Pyro: "Part of items will be added in updates for free, some will be released as DLC. And we hope our users will add content using workshop."
Proxy_Gnome Feb 6 @ 1:10pm
I have use the web version of this software and I am really impressed. Keep up the awesome work. I cannot wait until this comes out. Will there be more art tiles and DLC than what is on the web version?
Drzuma ~ Ami ~ Drzumatella Feb 6 @ 3:40am
Can't wait for this to be fully usable D: <3
pyro  [author] Feb 5 @ 9:59am
to Hasenfang : Yes, you will be able to use your maps without any restrictions.
Hasenfang Feb 4 @ 8:57pm
Will this product be offered for commercial use? Just curious, as I make board games on The Game Crafter and am wondering if I can use it as such.
pyro  [author] Feb 3 @ 9:18am
to joshklement : yes, we have undo option in new app
joshklement Feb 2 @ 8:38am
one suggestion... the online tool is great, but if you could include and 'undo' button... I accidently deleted an entire group once...
arimil508 Jan 30 @ 12:18pm
cant wait to use this. for the longest time i used the site.
this will make this faster.
most often than not i use the sight to make a mock up of the floor plan walls and objects inside.
then export each as different pngs then take them all into photoshop and ad proper lighting and stuff. in the end it looks alot better. than a map strait from the site. hopefuly this will make this process faster.
Yoda Jan 29 @ 2:21pm
you probably get this question alot, but whatll the price be?
Pullo Jan 27 @ 5:11am
Very excited to see a progress update, I am definitely grabbing this the moment I see it's up for sale!
pyro  [author] Jan 26 @ 2:50pm
to Dkafamus : Part of items will be added in updates for free, some will be released as DLC. And we hope our users will add content using workshop.
Dkafamus Jan 26 @ 1:54pm
One question. Will you guys sell DLCs containing extra items for the map and stuff?
pyro  [author] Jan 26 @ 12:38pm
We decided almost all the issues with the registration of the business, so sales will begin very soon.
Dkafamus Jan 26 @ 12:30pm
So, when we'll be able to actually buy this?

I think it's better and easier then the website
Soul Jan 22 @ 3:45am
Куда кидать деньги?) Серьезно, попробовал онлайн, прям то что надо, тайтлов и объектов конечно пока не на все хватает, но все это мелочи. Не бросай, очень годный инструмент. Спасибо тебе!
hovergirl Jan 21 @ 5:09pm
This looks really awesome! Can't wait for the release. :)
Kanbie Jan 20 @ 1:26pm
@[EoD]Trevor Pyro said he was in consulting with Valve, we don't know the release date in part becuase he doesn't know when he can release. But he did say it was very soon.
[EoD]Trevor Jan 19 @ 6:49pm
How long until we see the final product?
Ignitionfactor Jan 15 @ 8:56pm
thanks for blowing my fucking speakers
Yoda Jan 15 @ 7:52pm
Just wondering, will you have to import your own textures or will it come with textures? Congrats btw :)
Yoda Jan 15 @ 7:47pm
Ohhhhh this is gonna be so cool...
