A moment of silence for this game.

this game is dead
Eypgorilla Mar 9, 2016 @ 4:06am
Congratulation for Greenlit.
No One's Space  [author] Mar 7, 2016 @ 7:04am
Thanks, I'm glad you like it. Don't worry about the dialogues, it was just meant to be funny. The other dialogues (hopefully) won't be that cheesy. Otherwise feedback is always welcome.

A Japanese language implementation would be awesome, but I'm afraid we would need a translation volunteer. And the coding would need some work, too.

Aerensiniac Mar 1, 2016 @ 1:01am
Looks promising. If it has only half the stuff spaz does, its going to be gr8.
The writing/dialogue seems to be cheesy as hell though, like 12 yo-s in space.
Halfgeek Feb 27, 2016 @ 4:10am
Well done and congrats! Look forward to the release! o7

please I want a Japanese language implementation.
No One's Space  [author] Feb 16, 2016 @ 3:16pm
So many Thanks!

I'm glad you like it. Thanks for the vote and the recommendations. I also like the idea of coop and mods. But because of we are a small team, we need to focus and add features step by step :)

It's so nice to see players who already played old versions. The new campaigns are already in progress.

Hey. Thanks! Yes, we changed some things and added gif files. You can also find some news on the development on our social channels.
ACharacter Feb 15, 2016 @ 5:13am
Wow this has really progressed since I last had a look at the Greenlight page! I shall buy sale or no sale !

jks I love the looks of this game
Konqi #notiemplay Feb 13, 2016 @ 9:57am
I tried this a year ago and it was really fun. I'm really looking forward to see some new campaigns an so on.
Brenediction Feb 12, 2016 @ 11:43pm
Hmmm looks like it has potential. I like how it captures the classic arcade space shooter look. You have my vote, I hope you can deliver. Also I would recommend allowing mods and coop. Such things extend a games life immensly.
No One's Space  [author] Feb 5, 2016 @ 5:27am
Thanks everybody for the great comments!

NOS won't support an online multiplayer mode. There are too many technical arguments against it. On the other hand, a local coop-mode with split screen should be technically possible.
But currently we don't have that scheduled in our timetable and therefore will not work on it any time soon. We see it as a nice to have feature that could be added later.

Thx for your promo at your game Star Nomad 2
never. Feb 4, 2016 @ 3:41pm
Looks cool! Any chance of multiplayer coop?
Halfgeek Feb 3, 2016 @ 2:35am
Good luck! :)

No One's Space  [author] Jan 28, 2016 @ 2:13pm
Haha, I'm really enjoying this :)
It's interesting to see other people's thoughts on the game and races.

Space elves... Might be, might not be, you'll find out ;)

I'm looking forward to see your reactions when you've played the game!
Robert-42 Jan 28, 2016 @ 12:38pm
About the white ships:
So a high evolved society portrayed as “good”, “Powerful” and highly “evolved” and somehow “mystical” (because we wish a world without war, and a society without war is some kind of Utopia for us), we try to apply this character into their ship designs.
But why white?
I think that on all planets a species evolutionary evolved, predators will use the night for hunting. So it's natural, that species, which aren't the dominant one without technology, will start see bright colors as mythological "good" and dark as mythological "bad". I think we can see this even here on earth, where Aztecs and European Mythologies saw the sun as the powerful good force and the darkness as the bad ones.
I think it's rational to assume some parallelism to happen here:
Why round shapes?
On earth, spikes and high contrast colors are used by animals to signalize a warning. Round is “safe”
Robert-42 Jan 28, 2016 @ 12:27pm
I can't understand why you hate "Space-Elves". I think, it's just a logical conclusion. In SciFi, authors try to avoid putting humanity into the "Center of the Universe" as the most technologically and cultural highly evolved species. They must think of something more evolved than humanity, if they don't want to use humanity as the most evolved one.

How do show a more evolved species? As war is one (if not the) most terrifying states a society can get into, extrapolating a society from a society we see as a not so evolved one (where many awars happen) over our current state results in a society without war.
This video actually supports the theory, that more evolved societies left war behind:
PirateEagle Jan 28, 2016 @ 11:56am

TL;DR I hate space elves. And I have an gist of how the other races will be.

I like to judge a book by it's cover. Every sci fi game has certain charachters that sorta HAVE to be there. And the charachters I see in the small 5 frame little gif, well I like to think they ascribe to these cliche's. Because I'm a judgemental ass hole.

SIRIANS, the 'ascended'. Ah yes, 'wars', we used to have them before we ascended. Ah yes, 'disagreements', we used to have them blah blah, well clearly humility was blocking that acsendence. In other words, space elves. So high and houghty, clean white futuristic space ships and advanced technology. Eeeevery single space game and film with aliens has at leat one space elf race and I HATE THEM.

So how wrong am I?
No One's Space  [author] Jan 28, 2016 @ 11:38am
Thanks to everyone for the positive comments and votes!

Just for curiosity why will you hate the Sirians?
PirateEagle Jan 28, 2016 @ 12:11am
Oh, I can comment now. This looks good, hope you manage to get it sorted. Good luck. I can already tell I'm gonna hate the Sirians.
FallOut(eX) Jan 27, 2016 @ 5:39pm
Reminds me of Custom maps in WC3 and SC2. Battleships! Fun fun.

Id play it at least once :)

This looks nice, reminds me of SPAZ a bit.
Fred von Schleck Jan 24, 2016 @ 12:22pm
Sieht sehr interessant aus. Die Grafik und der Sound sind schon mal toll.
No One's Space  [author] Jan 23, 2016 @ 6:11am
I'm glad you like it. NOS will have different game modes. One of them is called the mercenary mode. That's the most SPAZ like part of NOS. But the mercenary mode isn't exactly a free roam mode. It's more a roguelike gameplay (with permadeath).

Thanks for the comments. No, it will be single-player only.
Panda Jan 22, 2016 @ 5:23pm
Will No One's Space have multiplayer ? :)
Panda Jan 22, 2016 @ 5:22pm
Alex Jan 22, 2016 @ 5:09pm
will there be like a galaxi to explore or someting ?
Alex Jan 22, 2016 @ 5:09pm
will this game be free roam similar to SPAZ (Space pirates and zombies) ??
Alex Jan 22, 2016 @ 5:08pm
Yes! This looks super and I love the fleet battles and the mother ship!I wish this game gose far and that it gets greenlighted!
No One's Space  [author] Jan 22, 2016 @ 3:00pm
The mercenary mode isn't exactly a free roam mode. It's more a roguelike gameplay (with permadeath).

You start off as an ex-soldier and can choose between different procedural generated missions.
In each mission you will gain wrecks of ships or weapons which you can either scrap and use as resources, or repair and equip.
After completing enough missions, you can move to the next, more difficult sector, and so on.

There is also the possibility of unlocking new career backgrounds, which will give you different benefits and initial ships.
No One's Space  [author] Jan 22, 2016 @ 1:55pm
Glad to hear that you like it and thanks for the upvote!
The physics is completely self-programmed, using quad trees that determine the contour.
But we really don't recommend to do that.

Shadow of Spades Jan 22, 2016 @ 1:40pm
Is the mercenary mode like a free roam thing?
Ð4Rk3lEmEnT Jan 22, 2016 @ 1:02pm
About friggin time -K
thelastmonte Jan 22, 2016 @ 11:04am
Looks good. I'll definiately vote this up. I see you have a lot of physics based interaction. What system are you building this in?
No One's Space  [author] Jan 22, 2016 @ 10:17am
Thanks to everyone for the positive comments. We really appreciate it!

Steam workshop should be possible. I can't see why not.

Wow, a dev couldn't wish for a better comment. Thanks a lot, it's very kind of you!

Thank you for your spanish comment ;D (don't know what it means, though)
ACharacter Jan 22, 2016 @ 7:03am
Yeah thanks for responding. I don't think the game will need a free roam because of the mission creator thing. I think it will be good for replay ability and let your imagination control the game instead of the game controlling your imagination! Will these mean workshop missions?
vladik Jan 22, 2016 @ 6:56am
Nice game :steamhappy:
ntroPi Jan 22, 2016 @ 6:54am
:steamhappy: Can't wait to see all the things that have changed in the many years since I last played the story.

Players take note: This team will never stop improving the game. They've been at it for an eternity and I can't imagine any other scenario. You will not be abandoned while waiting for addons or patches as may have happened to you with other games.

Oh about the game itself? It's a very polished 2D Space fighting sim with a massive emphasis on the epic story. It's not a boring good vs. evil story either. The vast universe of No One's Space hast extreme depth, many races and adresses their different goals and technologies.

Looking forward to the steam release!
No One's Space  [author] Jan 22, 2016 @ 5:39am
We are going to release different modes.
In the arcade mode you can choose from a variety of instant battles against different ship classes and races.
The story mode will be predefined to the most part, but there will be some alternative (sub)missions and further story details to explore.
The mercenary mode will provide procedural generated missions, so there will be a lot of diversion, and you can get any ship and equipment you wish through the money earned in the missions or recovering wrecks.
And last but not least, there will be a mission editor, which allows you to map your own custom missions to your heart's content ;)
@i dont even know y i play this
Yeah, we've come a long way ;) But we're finally going to finalize it.
Glad to see you back :D
No One's Space  [author] Jan 22, 2016 @ 5:38am
Yes. As the light is static, even when the sprites rotate, there is an "inconsistency" caused by this. But this is on purpose.

Edited post from before:
Thanks for your comment!
We are using the shading technique of Star Control II - The Ur-Quan Masters. That's a well known game from 1992.
Our shading is done by hand and is a very important retro aspect of NOS.
Please, take a look here:
The light source is located at the top left, to create more depth. It's not the most common top-down shading technique, though.
Eypgorilla Jan 22, 2016 @ 5:22am
@No One's Space, yes, but the sprites are rotating and the light direction changes individual for the sprites. Anyway, the gfx looks nice and you have to take a deep look to recognize it.

Thanks for your link.
lukas Jan 22, 2016 @ 4:37am
If you like this kind of gameplay, you can just play the first phase of spore... no need to buy a complete new game. sorry:steamfacepalm:
ACharacter Jan 22, 2016 @ 4:31am
Otherwise It looks decent in everyday!
ACharacter Jan 22, 2016 @ 4:31am
So the game will be a campaign only or will there be free roam (eventually)
