Look's good appart of exalibur itself... Made an full skin that completed look of helmet and then it may be awesome, but for that You also need to change vanila geometry of model. If Your skin will be change only textures that be suck and no sanse.

i feel like this would fit better with rhino, i mean, i would normally be against telling someone that they should try adding this helmet to a different frame, but this doesn't really fit with excalibur well in my opinion and he doesn't really need any more helmets.

I like this because Excalibur being a melee frame this makes sense looks good upvote

The helmet looks nice. I like the idea, but I'm not sure if it's fitting. I'm not saying that it's bad or anything (hood-alike part is cool), it's good, but... Maybe it's just too different for me. Good job, still. ;)

Very, very cool helmet. Saw this on Polycount, and have been quietly rooting for it since. Love th inspiration, and the design sits pretty neatly between the inspiration and Warframe's style. It's not quite perfect yet. The roughness feels a little... too much like Grineer metal, maybe? And a little too uniform. Maybe a slight difference in roughness between what would be the mask and the helmet itself, and a more metallic look to the obviously techy parts on the mask. I'm not quite sure what could be changed to make it fit perfectly. It's already so close, and such a cool idea. Keep working at it, and I apologize that I can't be more specific.

Solid helmet design.

We were pretty limited on alt helms. The contest that this is for was to open the doors of the Workshop. Initially textures were pretty new to Warframe. With this contest they're hoping to test the waters on the Workshop designing alt helms, weapon model swaps, even drop ship remodels. For the period of the contest however, only a few things were possible to model for as they hadn't opened workshop support for them.

Awesome sculpt, but i'd rather see it on a completely new warframe. :D

This would make a great hlem for rhino, especially together with a full body skin. It would be beetle-rhino inspired by the rhinobeetle

@Dr. Pamcakes M.D. Referring to the above, the contest only let us design alt helms for Excalibur, Mag, or Volt. I'd be down for taking a look at other alt helms in the future though!

Seems kinda strange to make this for Excalibur, more fitting for Rhino considering the appearance and name of the beetle it was based off of.

This could do with a syanda (sydana? Forgot spelling, whoops) with this style for him or an Excal skin with said thing, and every time he does fast jumps, etc, the back opens to reveal a pair of beetle wings fluttering away (also when doing that slow-fall, moreso) to slow the fall or speed you up...

Hey thanks man! You're totally right. I researched the Japanese rhinoceros beetle, and upon discovering it was called 'Kabutomushi' (Kabuto being the helmet that samurai wore) I had my name, and a full design inspiration.

I like the inspiration on this one, it looks like a mix between some kind of samurai helmet(I think) and a beetle horn.
