You know this is merely a recreation of Kane Pixel’s ‘The Oldest View’ version right? It’s not supposed to be a proper rendition of the real mall, although it could be, it is just a map based off a famous YouTube series.

You call it accurate yet you have the rooftop exit, blocked of exits and worst of all.. NO AMC!

Headcrap says "there's a different guy that's working on a vvmall map but he's getting there slowly". He did not say who.

He does not have any interest in continuing development of the map. I believe he has already made that clear.

The creator has run into Source problems with the map and is unable to continue work on the map.

And due to constant pressure from certain commenters wanting the map to be more, it has stressed to creator out greatly!

So for now, until something major happens, may we wish the creator luck and our best wishes!

@JayJayPro There's 64 pages of comments in here. If Headcrap changed their mind they should've changed the description too.

@bigulator I’m pretty sure the description hasn’t been touched since the maps release, maybe check the creators comments

the models aren't overly complex, a good modeling program for source is sketchup, its only somewhat difficult to port and due to how outdated it is its easier to convert a model from sketchup than a modern program that might be more complex and use newer formats that don't work as well with source

Fair enough, it could also be because of the models used as well! The more space taken, the less the map will take. I’m assuming that the models used in this map are of smaller sized polygons, making the model smoother in shape, the more polys, the more detail! Could it be the poly count?

honestly there probably is a way to make more geometry, computer limitations for stuff like this may be easier to bypass on computers made for CAD/Architectural software/ more IT oriented stuff imo (some of which i have access too), the map's complex and big but this map doesen't seem big enough to max out the engine or never be expanded, it just might be like that on headcraps end, i would take a crack at it and test the limits to see if i could build the GMT wing or something but theres a big giant "no export" sticker in the description

I wish there was too, but sadly, there’s nothing, atleast I think there’s nothing, that we can do to this 21 year old engine.

Awesome map, wish source engine wasn't so limited I'm sure there's a loophole or a fix for that.
