Just to let you all know I'm starting a reboot of the mod

@MasterOfGrey It's been two years. I don't think he's fixing it.

I would say that this should be in vanilla, but that would mean Paradox stealing it.

Please update the mod! Everytime that Paradox updates the map this will break the game!
MasterOfGrey 18. dec. 2024 kl. 17:06
This mod makes its changes to the building and state history files by overwriting the relevant vanilla files in full.
This is poor practice and is a compatibility torpedo with many other mods.

If you could address that by extracting your changes into different files for compatibility that would be greatly appreciated.

Would you consider adding an event to represent when Botswana successfully petitioned GB to become a protectorate - to prevent South Africa from colonising it?

Cygnus 11. aug. 2023 kl. 19:19
Good, I liked everything that the mod proposes, but is it outdated? If so, it's a shame because I didn't get to play it =(, but your work on this mod is appreciated, greetings from Argentina :3

Update. Keeps crashing
Lovis 25. mar. 2023 kl. 8:14
Is this mod dead?
flieger 18. mar. 2023 kl. 5:06
the puppeting doesn't work, they instantly unpuppet themselves. I annexed them through console and when I formed the union of south africa, the game just crashed. There also doesn't seem to be a way to annex basotho, if I didn't miss something

I guess the new update broke it sadly, but still cool mod
MetroTrekker 4. jan. 2023 kl. 9:57
Boina instantly gains independence from Merina
Hazmon198 23. dec. 2022 kl. 7:18
Could you do eventually add Rhodesia with English and Boer as accepted cultures? And Angola and Mozambique with Portuguese?
Celestial 22. dec. 2022 kl. 18:30
Can you make Polish language? Please:)
Mēkaru 15. dec. 2022 kl. 17:56
@Timur Thanks!
Timur  [ophavsmand] 15. dec. 2022 kl. 17:55
@Hammurabae sure
Mēkaru 15. dec. 2022 kl. 13:15
Would it be ok to use this for a roleplay mod pack mod with accreditation?
Timur  [ophavsmand] 14. dec. 2022 kl. 7:24
@anthonator88 yeah it was originally just annexing. I need to test this further to see what the best way to handle this would be.
anthonator00 13. dec. 2022 kl. 10:46
it may not be perfect to history, but having cape colony just do the annex play, or force start an annex war (because i havent tested far enough to the zulu war to see if it works) may be the only way for this to work
anthonator00 13. dec. 2022 kl. 10:44
just did a run and got past 1845, britain did not get the puppet on waterboers land or however its spelled, or they just released it or it broke free instantly, probably because its so isolated, the only way this mod can work is not by puppets, by annexing likely
Timur  [ophavsmand] 13. dec. 2022 kl. 10:18
@Twil the puppet journal entries were changed to make it so they make puppets for GB and not Cape Colony
날막(Twil) 13. dec. 2022 kl. 8:25
@Timur It seems like none of the puppet journals work and therefore ruining the final journal. Maybe because puppets can't have their own puppets?
Timur  [ophavsmand] 9. dec. 2022 kl. 8:31
@Sigma Willie what is broken? Could you be more clear what isn't working?
Freeman Willie 8. dec. 2022 kl. 9:00
It is broken, none of the events work, going to have to use the cheat menu to fix it but good idea probably is about another 6 months out
Damocles242 6. dec. 2022 kl. 10:00
Thank you for this mod, love to see more SA and Southern African focused content to come!
Timur  [ophavsmand] 3. dec. 2022 kl. 12:37
@Dmitriy Moyazov no problem, that's fine
Nightingale 3. dec. 2022 kl. 8:39
Hello!

I would be interested in incorporating parts of this mod into a larger overhaul mod me and a friend are working on, with credit of course. Please respond if that would be okay by you, and feel free to add me if you have questions.
Timur  [ophavsmand] 3. dec. 2022 kl. 7:05
@anthonator88 I changed it so that the journal entries revolve around the UK owning the subjects instead and with the Union of South Africa journal entry it annex them to South Africa.
Timur  [ophavsmand] 2. dec. 2022 kl. 4:58
@Danny Archer good idea
Danny Archer 1. dec. 2022 kl. 16:16
Any plans on adding Walvis Bay in Namibia? It was established in the 18th C, although it wasn't really a year round settlement until the late 19th C. Regardless, I feel like it's something that'll never emerge dynamically, and for that warrants inclusion at game start.
anthonator00 1. dec. 2022 kl. 2:11
true but thats all they can do, colonize, until they are powerful enough to declare independence, thats it
Timur  [ophavsmand] 30. nov. 2022 kl. 16:47
@anthronator88 I mean they can still take a lot of land, they just can't really hold on to Griqualand or the boer states as puppets until these fixes come around
anthonator00 30. nov. 2022 kl. 10:52
because i am very interested in this mod, but cape colony just cant do much of anything as it is until its tweaked
anthonator00 30. nov. 2022 kl. 10:51
Yea a simple checklist that if cape colony is a player, it starts a war to annex the countries maybe, then for ai and a player non cape colony in the area, you get the same event just later to build up
Timur  [ophavsmand] 30. nov. 2022 kl. 5:23
@anthonator88 I think I will tweak this by making so you annex the nations but if cape colony is an AI and one of the boer states are a player it would be much harder to annex them through the journal entry. The First Boer War could be a ticking disaster where they break off if certain requirements aren't met.
anthonator00 29. nov. 2022 kl. 23:29
got a game where i managed to min max the economy to stay a minor power, got the event, didnt get the puppet on waterboers land, looked into it a little, i wouldnt be able to start a make puppet diplo play even if it was possible for a crown colony, because puppet subjects cant have puppets, basically to make this possible through puppeting the neighbors, cape colony already needs to be a dominion, or the game rules need to be changed for crown colonies (which would likely cause other major issues) or the events need to be changed to annex events, like the canadian events and how they auto annex the other canadian governments when their gdp is greater
anthonator00 29. nov. 2022 kl. 22:20
yea that would work, maybe keep the years you can puppet the same, but prevent the trigger from occuring until you have the ranking to hold them, either that or make it so that its 3 options, 1, delayed and automatic for ai. 2, the same option there is otherwise, or 3 same dates as the early current options, but it starts wars against them for conquest
Timur  [ophavsmand] 29. nov. 2022 kl. 17:12
@anthonator I have had friends who have been able to pull it off pretty consistently but I get where you're coming from. The thing is you're expected to make the puppets later on in the game when you're stronger and if I made it so Cape Colony had a good chance to directly annex the boer republics early on there could never be boer war content for the puppets trying to break free. The only solution I can think of is just preventing the journal entries to puppet the boer republics from being done if Cape Colony isn't a minor power.
