士/仕 move and capture by moving exactly one square diagonally and within the palace (i.e. there are only five legal spots on the board for them to be at any time).
馬 move like the knight in western Chess, with the exception that if a piece is occupying a space adjacent to it, it cannot move in that direction (thinking of it as a L-shaped move, the 'long edge' of the move always has to be clear). They cannot move in any other fashion.
象/相 move and capture exactly two squares diagonally and can thus be blocked if a piece is diagonally adjacent to it. They cannot move in any other fashion. (As stated, they cannot cross the river).
I do not want to add them at the back because the chess can be used to play another game if they are all flipped to the other side
