No, RON is not a requirement if you want to manually place the roads. RON is a replacement tool for existing networks, and is useful for upgrading roads already in place. You would only need RON if you were trying to load a save that contained NExt2 roads, and then RON would automatically replace the NExt2 roads with the roads from this set when loading the save.

You guys are true Chads :steamhappy:

Then it doesn't sound like my roads. Are you certain you are using one of mine? The mesh doesn't include the "wall" that makes that black "wall"
Streeto 21. feb. 2023 kl. 12:01
Any ideas? I think I've had this issue before, but I can't remember how it was solved! :(
Streeto 21. feb. 2023 kl. 11:33
Just the black void that you get with vanilla tunnels, nothing too strange.
cylis  [ophavsmand] 21. feb. 2023 kl. 11:16
Hmm, weird. I was asking what you saw when you placed a tunnel.
Streeto 21. feb. 2023 kl. 10:04
I cannot see your comment, it's awaiting analysis :(

Started a new city, but these roads aren't showing rendered tunnels for me? No matter which road I use. Am I missing something?
cylis  [ophavsmand] 6. feb. 2023 kl. 16:50
RON is set up to automatically replace the NExt2 roads with this collection. You must unsubscribe from NExt2 first. RON would then find the entries for NExt2 and replace them with this set.
StayHungryStayFoolish 6. feb. 2023 kl. 16:31
@Streeto no, if you subscribe to RON. You can find RON and more mods on the Financial District compatible modlist.
Streeto 6. feb. 2023 kl. 16:15
If I uninstall NXT2 and sub to these will it break my save?

I have attempted to fix some of the issues with the nodes and textures, however, algernon is going to look into the issues caused by replaint, and we'll see what comes from that.
cylis  [ophavsmand] 24. jan. 2023 kl. 14:01
Indeed, it must be something with repaint... If you look at the 3 lane highway, it looks fine compared to the 1+2 Asym, even though the only difference between the 3 lane highway and the 2+1 is the diffuse texture. they are using the exact same mesh, alpha, road, and pavement maps.
Also, since that option should only be changing vanilla highways.... it is targeting workshop highways in error... and on my game, it caused a number of nodes to have a large black box on the shoulder of one side.
dalearends 24. jan. 2023 kl. 11:37
I tested the roads again and the issue remains. However, I am starting to think it is a Repaint mod issue. It seems to be tied to having the option in Repaint to 'Retexture vanilla highway on next load' turned on. With that setting turned off, everything displays properly.
cylis  [ophavsmand] 23. jan. 2023 kl. 11:50
while it does look ok on my game, I have discovered that my r map is slightly off which may be causing the lines not to be drawn properly. I'll update my texture files and reupload, and see if that solves the issues with repaint.
dalearends 22. jan. 2023 kl. 14:26
@cylis Solved, I think. The only mods I have that touch textures are Theme Mixer 2, Environment Changer, and Repaint 1.7.3. I'm using the standard Temperate base theme and no cutsom map theme.

So some testing done by disabling one or another mod and restarting (from the desktop, of course) showed that the problem was being caused by Repaint 1.7.3. With that disabled, the roads' nodes look correct again.

@niter This is a road collection, a group of individual asset files for each road meant to replace Network Extensions 2, this is not a mod. Chinese is not a language I understand, so I would be unable to translate into it, and I don't know how to change the localisation of an asset.
cylis  [ophavsmand] 22. jan. 2023 kl. 2:24
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2921846271 is what I see for those 2 roads, is that not what you see?
cylis  [ophavsmand] 22. jan. 2023 kl. 1:44
Are you using a particular theme? Are you using any additional mods that may have altered the textures of nodes?
dalearends 21. jan. 2023 kl. 20:45
The latest update of the 2 lane highway and the National Road both have end nodes that aren't displaying quite right. They have the insubstantial appearance as if they are partially overlapped by another texture or are a bit off registration.
niter 16. jan. 2023 kl. 9:58
Can the author translate your mod into chinese
cylis  [ophavsmand] 5. dec. 2022 kl. 14:49
Yes, RON is already configured to automatically replace NE2 with this road set.
4ronMit2xA 5. dec. 2022 kl. 8:55
Can I use this to replace the NE2 streets with RON?
cylis  [ophavsmand] 20. juni 2022 kl. 22:31
Zoning adjuster is required for the tiny roads, since vanilla CSL starts zoning at 16m. To fix the gap between the tiny road and where zoning begins, that is what Zoning Adjuster is for.
nahuelma97 19. juni 2022 kl. 16:59
I saw in the description that there's mention of needing the Zone Adjuster for installing this properly. What would I have to do exactly? Are these roads replaced without zones and then I have to enable them with the mod? And, if so, is that just for the replacements but the new ones I build are fine? I'm quite new to the game, there's a lot I might miss in terms of what to do to make sure it runs fine lol

I have fixed the lod issue (the blue triangles) with the small four lane road.

IT'S AN OPTICAL ILLUSION!!! :steamfacepalm:
I didn't realize the tunnel got wider. I feel dumb.:steamsad:

But yeah I did mess with the node controller. In fact, the illusion got worse when you sloped it. The part that got me was that the tunnel got wider, so the walls looked like they were going up, when they were really just getting farther from each other. The lane markings disappeared, so instead of looking like it was getting wider it looked like it suddenly jumped up. I had to look really, really closely to see that this wasn't the case. Even glancing back on the old screenshots I still fall for the illusion.

Thank you for the help! I may try to use a different road just because I can't get the illusion out of my head. I now realize that what I was seeing was part of the design. I didn't use NExt2 really at all, so I'm not used to these roads. I've only been playing for a year and 8 months or so. I just want rendered tunnels.
StayHungryStayFoolish 22. feb. 2022 kl. 12:29
@timstim use Node Controller and change the layout of the junction + make it slopped.
timstim_x 22. feb. 2022 kl. 11:58
@StayHungryStayFoolish
Thanks, but I already have that--I need a 4 lane road. That only comes with 2 and 6.
cylis  [ophavsmand] 22. feb. 2022 kl. 11:56
@timestim_x if you could show what you mean.... I have used these roads in many games. If you mean an issue where the road follows the grade of the land, that is a built-in feature of Cities: Skylines. You can also use mods such as the moveit mod to level the nodes to make a flat tunnel.
StayHungryStayFoolish 22. feb. 2022 kl. 11:33
@timstim_x I prefer this road, it has a nice rendered tunnel, perfect for first-person ride: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2365944326
timstim_x 22. feb. 2022 kl. 11:30
I'm having an issue with the tunnels for these roads. Whenever I create a tunnel, at the node where the tunnel entrance/exit segment ends and the first full tunnel segment begins, the road gets shifted upward and looks awkward. It looks like it's a meter or two higher on the tunnel segment than on the entrance/exit segment.
This happened with both highway and regular road pieces, but it seemed more pronounced on the highway pieces.
StayHungryStayFoolish 13. feb. 2022 kl. 6:31
Great road collection. Much better to subscribe this way! Forget NExt2 mod!
dalearends 21. nov. 2021 kl. 13:54
It would be in the small roads set. It is simply a one-way version of the two-lane, two-way road. I could have sworn that it was in the NExt2 set.
cylis  [ophavsmand] 21. nov. 2021 kl. 11:13
I just looked through the list of roads provided by Network Extensions 2, and there is no 2 lane 1 way with the exception of the bus road and highway. Could you tell me which road size it falls into? (tiny, small, small heavy...)
cylis  [ophavsmand] 21. nov. 2021 kl. 11:07
I'll look into it.
dalearends 20. nov. 2021 kl. 16:19
This is a good set but it seems the 2-lane 1-way road is missing. I've had to use the 2-lane highway and use TM:PE to adjust the speed limit.
mikmoen 17. sep. 2021 kl. 15:16
I decided to finally unsub from NExt since there's talk its been unsupported for a while now, and to lessen my RAM use, but then I immediately regretted now having some essential roads it provided. With this I can cherry pick the ones I want! Dude you're awesome.
cylis  [ophavsmand] 11. sep. 2021 kl. 5:52
In the list it was between the Four-Lane National Highway, and the Four-Lane Road.
