Also, yes Earth does have a deity. In Greek Mythology, it's Gaia, and in Roman Mythology, it's Terra.

But there's an asteroid named Io, and Io is also the name of one of the largest moons of Jupiter. This means that there can be objects with the same name.

Thank you, and yeah, turns out Uranus is a greek god, my mistake. There are exceptions to naming schemes, with Pallas being another example of a greek name slipping in. This doesn't change the overall Roman trend though.

Actually, Uranus is named after the Greek god of the sky "Ouranos", breaking the trend. The Roman equivalent would have been Caelus.
