Urgh. Dunno what happens then.

the back drone still explodes when released :/

Thanks!
I'm not really into stormworks yet, i love overly complicated games but right now that's too much. I'll check it out for sure though.

By the way, I've moved a bit from FtD to Stormworks. If you want to see the kind of builds I make there, check out my current submarine: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2893516189

Updated again, this time for the drones, they should take off with less issues now. As for the movement, you should use the navpoints for navigation. If you really want to take full control, there are two ACBs on the upper deck (the one with all the windows) that force the AI to get into Fleet or Combat mode depending on whether there are detected enemies. Deactivate them and you'll get full control on what the AI does or doesn't.

You should make a guide on how to use this, i can move it manually but i don't know how to turn movement off.

that was quick, so navigation is all good now?
Rufus Shinra  [ophavsmand] 9. jan. 2023 kl. 14:16
I've uploaded a navigation fix for the frigate, apparently some update made fleet orders incompatible with patrol orders, but that's corrected now. As for the drones, I'm looking at them and will see if I can post an update to correct this as well.

Another problem I've seen is that one of the drones explode when released into combat.

Yeah, I'm testing it in creative and it moves properly on its own in combat, but the patrol AI seems broken in a way I do not yet understand the Yaw PID is stuck at 180 for no reason.

Can't wait to see it, i had just built it for my campaign, and wanted to ensure i could control it if i needed to. not that it couldn't do perfectly fine on its own. its what inspired me to build my own group of destroyers, though not as advanced :(

Phew, it has been a long time since I went over this build (as proven by the utterly outdated map in the CIC, lol), and apparently, some updates half-broke it while I had to understand my logic in it, since it's half-AI, half-lua. For example, at some point since the past couple of years, the devs added a "manual/automatic" setting for the propellers, and the automated setting seems to work... ish while the manual one was somehow broken.

Phew, there seems to be quite a number of things soft-broken now in the AI. I'm working on it now.

how do you get it to go where you want it to go?
i can't control it manually or tell it to go somewhere with patrol or fleet move mode.
El_Cappucinno 25. mar. 2021 kl. 20:33
ya, imagine 3 ship dashing through GT and straight to SD boss
Rufus Shinra  [ophavsmand] 25. mar. 2021 kl. 17:15
Heh heh. The Scarlet Dawn are still wondering what happened to them in the campaign, right? :-P
El_Cappucinno 25. mar. 2021 kl. 16:37
this bloody thing deserved f*cking upvotes!

Anyone reading this, get the latest update of this ship, it has been reworked for much higher survivability against the new Huge-sized missiles while improving its effectiveness against submarines of all kinds. Why, yes, I've spent a lot of time yesterday tinkering with it to defeat the new and improved Black Current.
Rufus Shinra  [ophavsmand] 12. dec. 2020 kl. 10:32
TBH, reverse-engineering the frigate will be simpler anyway, considering how the holo emitters and engines are structured compared to the SSBN setup.

Thanks for the Heads up
Rufus Shinra  [ophavsmand] 12. dec. 2020 kl. 7:47
There isn't much in the submarine that isn't in the frigate, TBH. The code is roughly the same.

Personally FtD in general seems to fall apart lately.. in my Opinion atleast
it would be still cool if you could share your older Marvelous Crafts for Learning Purposes

Since People like me and my Friend tend to play with older Builds of the Game
Maybe on your Discord instead of the Workshop?
Rufus Shinra  [ophavsmand] 11. okt. 2020 kl. 23:08
Heh, sorry, this is unlikely to be re-uploaded anytime soon. I'm only reuploading a handful of ships at all since FtD is slightly going back from a balance route that had the devs explicitely saying that the design types I was doing were lazy, cheesy and antithetical to what they wanted in-game and therefore had to be made unplayable. Stuff like the submarines is unlikely to come back.
The Offensive Lemon 11. okt. 2020 kl. 15:34
So, about the signature tactical map...

Why did you remove the standalone version from the Workshop? And do you have any plans to reupload it?
dSbKe.Redzu 10. okt. 2020 kl. 23:56
nice built ship, and armed with realistic arsenals! Awesome

To people yearning for the life of a supervillain, I've uploaded a variant that includes British spy interrogation and holding rooms (with lasers), hangars with amphibious tanks and an underwater dock with a full-fledged submarine: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2253391544

Cost down to 800 k without the chopper, there's a bug in the steam turbines in the latest dev release that had the turbines cost waaaaay more than normally, so I replaced them with small turbines instead, saving 50 k or so.
Rufus Shinra  [ophavsmand] 8. okt. 2020 kl. 12:23
Chopper not included, 840 k. Which is to be expected for a non-cheese Tyr-capable ship. :-P
Thundercraft 7. okt. 2020 kl. 16:39
Cost?
