tried the Mod.info change to 3.262.1 works so you can activate the mod, but it still crashes when loading the mission. anny Ideas?

I've figured what the problem is. You are using vanilla mortars to which mod ammo boxes do not fit. You need to replace tham with mod version of m-1 mortar. Youcan replenish it's normal rounds with arty boxes and WP ones with special ammo crates.

You need to add special ammo boxes to replenish the mortars. Else red infantry will eventually swarm the deffence positions.

yeah, i started it last night and finished today. played through with no issue.had to change mod info to latest version of the game but works no problem. good mission

You could try using it. There was some weird error I kept getting whenever I loaded a newer version of Robz and it kept crashing for me. Maybe its just an issue on my end.
