@PointMeAtTheDawn Hey mate, you're welcome to revise this table if possible and re-release yourself as a revised table. I'm happy to take this one down if yours makes improvements. I don't really have the time to continue updating this table. If you need me to send you the table file just let me know and we can sort it out.
PointMeAtTheDawn Sep 2, 2022 @ 5:21pm
Oo yea, you did the newspapers just fine at least for case 5!
PointMeAtTheDawn Sep 2, 2022 @ 4:57pm
Sam I -think- that you've made stated objects out of card objects, which may be the cause of this behavior. If you use custom tiles or other sorts of objects, I bet you wouldn't run up against these issues. Tested that custom tiles with your URIs behave as expected for state objects. Going to make some of these for the case my group will be tackling, and think I'll also make an index to go alongside it so we know which page to flip to. (Pity that state names only show up after you already visit them, and the index in the context menu is just numbered)
PointMeAtTheDawn Sep 2, 2022 @ 4:34pm
Tip: change your ruler from inches to centimeters. They match EXACTLY 1:1 with minutes traveled. Bravo on that attention to detail Sam <3
PointMeAtTheDawn Sep 2, 2022 @ 4:30pm
The directory is an extremely oddly implemented object. It has some of the characteristics of a deck of cards (can be dealt/shuffled, but remains the same object), and some of a stated object (literally has the state functions and can be paged up/down, but NOT indexed via number hotkeys). Hitting Reset on it breaks it. I haven't done enough modding of my own to recognize what this implies for its implementation, but it's unexpected functionality.

@Wrayden You'll just have to guess. That's the limitations of the media converted to that format for Tabletop Simulator. Blame the devs. We've already finished the entire game and enjoyed it immensely. You'll get a feeling for where something may lie after a while.

@Crown of Laurels Edit the notes from their properties. I right click on them to get the menu, but your button might be different. Check your TtS settings.
Crown of Laurels Jan 17, 2022 @ 2:53pm
is there a way to use the notes? i cant find a way to write on them
Wrayden Dec 30, 2021 @ 11:13pm
How to find the proper passage to read? It's tedious to try to guess the right page.
Wind's Aria Jul 8, 2021 @ 4:05pm
Just finished case 2 with a friend. Loving the game so far. Thanks so much for making this mod, I probably would never have had the chance to play such a great game otherwise.

We did run into an instance of seemingly missing leads regarding a question in Case 2 (The Tin Soldier) though. Could you double check to verify that entry 26NW in the case book for Marshall Guilfoyle's home is actually complete? It seems to be a very short blurb of text that's quite sudden and missing a bit of introductions to the scene. That might be why we could never figure out how we were suppose to connect him to the final answer of what he was up to that morning when he was late to work. Of course we might also just be overlooking some other lead, but short of reading through every single entry one by one in the book, we had exhausted all possible leads and even went through the entire Holmes ally list top to bottom just to make sure we were missing out on anything.

Sorry for the delay, but the corrected/fixed errata pages are now included in this table to fix cases 3 and 6. I've added notes where needed.
Heavenly Pete Apr 11, 2021 @ 10:02pm
I have no idea how to play this game
Footeball Apr 4, 2021 @ 7:09am
Case 7 is broken in this mod. Missing story in the newspaper and a missing page in the locations for this case.
Coppelius Mar 27, 2021 @ 1:31pm
I have used this version to make an updated one, which uses the unofficial errata provided at https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/125895/sherlock-holmes-consulting-detective-unofficial-er This hopefully makes cases 3 and 6 easier.

you can flip through the states with the pgup/pgdn keys on the keyboard.
Ownsin Jun 1, 2020 @ 10:50am
Hi, how can I flip through pages? This mod doesn't work well like other mods for flipping through the rule book or directory.
Super Wet May 14, 2020 @ 9:36am
Nice work! Any plan on 'Carlton House & Queen's Park' and 'Jack the Ripper'? Would appreciate that!
Knaughx May 11, 2020 @ 6:53pm
Hi, wanted you know that your mod has been added to my collection: Board Game Geek - BGG - May 2020 - Best Mod for each of the Top 500 Rated Games. Collection here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2086043930

The collection used this priority system:

1. Mod's Files Availability: Mod with all/most files still available for download
2. Feature completeness: Mod with greatest inclusion of expansions and/or promos available for the board game title
2. Scripting: Mod with scripting that most reduces work in setup/play for players
3. Component Quality: Mod with the best visuals/usability in terms of component quality
4. Table Setup/Ambiance: Mod with the best immersion with table, background, and other modeling.

Please also note that a mod that makes selection for this list very well could be one in which the mod author borrowed the majority of assets from another workshop listing, so full thanks to all who worked on a mod.

Thanks for your hard work!

Hi. I just finished a game with the mod with some friends. I'd like to suggest the addition of the corrected pages for cases 3 and 6 from the Errata :

https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/125895/sherlock-holmes-consulting-detective-unofficial-er

We played the 3rd case today, and it was somewhat saddening to fail due to the material being intrinsically flawed by the publisher.

Great mod and will definitively play again. Thanks!
GregChops May 9, 2020 @ 8:48pm
hey krunster, thanks for that pdf link. Do you know of any links like that for any other cases? or the other games like jack the ripper? thanks man
You know my name. May 4, 2020 @ 6:07pm
Do you plan on adding the other sherlock holmes cases from the other 2 sets?
Yuck May 2, 2020 @ 11:00pm
i have finished the first two cases and am planning to start case 3 soon. however, i have read on bgg that case 3 is "unsolvable" because of poorly translated text. may i know if the cases are from the ystari edition which i understand has the translation issues? if so, should i download the unofficial errata that fixes many of the problems?
XenoGuy May 1, 2020 @ 3:39pm
you can't flip through the states of the directory and rulebooks because in this mod they are card objects. they should be custom tiles instead. i can probably convert them for you if you want.
ken r Apr 30, 2020 @ 10:56am
Thanks Sam for the newspaper tip, I don't know why I assumed they were two pages each. I think some sets , like jack the ripper, have two.
Janvier Apr 30, 2020 @ 9:06am
I usualy go for "alt" when I can't guess the covered word...
sam the brave  [author] Apr 30, 2020 @ 8:43am
So an issue I've come across using them as PDF is the 'next page' and 'previous page' buttons overlap the text. Unless someone knows of a work-around?
Janvier Apr 30, 2020 @ 5:07am
If some people were ready to handle you the PDF of the documents in other languages, would you implement them or would it be too much work to do so nicely and too much of an ugly result to throw them in a bag in a corner?
WZ9XP Apr 29, 2020 @ 10:39am
krunster's pastebin link does not have pdfs for cases 1-4. Can somebody post them?
krunkster Apr 28, 2020 @ 4:20pm
I cleaned up an older version of the game previously... I'm not maintaining it though, and I've heard it doesn't work anymore.
But many of the cases have already been converted to PDF and you can use the links in your version:
https://pastebin.com/j15a2a5H
I hope it saves you some time!
QQ Apr 28, 2020 @ 1:02pm
Super well put together. Very impressed :).
sam the brave  [author] Apr 28, 2020 @ 2:41am
Yes, not sure why that's happening - though we don't intend to resolve that issue, we want to re-import all the booklets and newspapers as PDF objects so you can simply use the 'next page' and 'previous page' buttons TTS uses for that, so stay tuned!
JanusFenix Apr 27, 2020 @ 4:19pm
Hello! The instruction booklets seem a little buggy - normally TTS seems to let you use the number keys to move through states, but in this version (and weirdly all the SHCD versions I see on TTS) it just draws it into your hand, treating them as cards instead of documents.
sam the brave  [author] Apr 27, 2020 @ 1:28pm
Hey Super! You got us into it, aha. We should play again sometime.
Super_ Apr 27, 2020 @ 11:47am
Wow that's funny. I hosted a game for you guys and you made it a mod. :D
scoota Apr 26, 2020 @ 6:48pm
Awesome version of the game, we did the first case! Previously purchased it, this is a great way to play!
Weeping_Angel Apr 26, 2020 @ 7:09am
Thanks for the great mod. which version of the game is this one?
DonnaDoo Apr 25, 2020 @ 6:30pm
Hi, Thanks I just kept dragging out the newspapers until I got to the correct one.
sam the brave  [author] Apr 25, 2020 @ 6:08pm
The newspapers are also located in the case ‘Bookshelves’ keep dragging items out of the necessary case bookcase to retrieve the newspapers. You might pull a single one out but it may have two states, representing a page each. If you have to, copy and paste the object so you’ve got each state as an individual object, for ease of use.
DonnaDoo Apr 25, 2020 @ 6:00pm
Hi, The newspapers appear to missing on my screen. I have two directories, the case files, rules and list of contacts but I do not see the newspapers. Where is the deck of newspapers located?
DonnaDoo Apr 25, 2020 @ 5:50pm
Hi,

I don't see the newspapers. Where are they located on the screen?
sam the brave  [author] Apr 24, 2020 @ 7:07pm
Hey ken r - the newspaper come out in a deck so you will have to skim the top off if there are two. They're one page 'cards' so you can zoom in or hold Alt on them to magnify the pages.

Other documents will need their 'state' to be changed. You can do this by right clicking the booklets and directories and selecting 'state' then choosing the page.
ken r Apr 24, 2020 @ 4:32pm
How do you read the newspapers?
UrbanArtifact Apr 24, 2020 @ 10:34am
I have the game IRL, will be nice to see how this on plays
