The proper term for a "broadsword" is arming sword, and single bladed curved swords is falchion or scimitar. sabre & shortsword is correct.

i have a certain very cool skyforge weapons retexture mod that i use, and i do believe that this conflicts with that.... could u change the skyforge sword up so it doesnt interferer

I think the glass sword is more of a gladius than a broadsword. Just compare it to the Imperial Gladius and you'll see what I mean. I guess it's just a bit odd since it's slightly longer. At least I think it is.

The only problem I have with this is that I have a shortsword mod (I'm not entirely sure why I got it; immersion, I guess), which already has a silver shortsword. Maybe you could rename the silver sword "longsword"?

As long as it's not rediculously long and unpronouncable, don't worry about obscure-ish names. If you say spatha people will know what you mean, it's like saying rapier or bastard sword.

Personally I reckon the orcish one looks more like a kukri than a scimitar, but anyway, nice idea!

I just want to give some general responses. I have looked into the thing with broadswords, and Black Mage is right, but calling them longsword would be equally inaccurate as broadswords are longer and have longer hilts than any of the weapons in the game. Maybe i will make a longsword version somewhere along the way. The silver sword actually is shorter than the others.
About calling things spatha, kopis or xophis, I'm hesitant to do that because i don't want to go into very obscure names.

Agreeing with Black Mage here. Besides the silver "shortsword" is exactly the same length as the rest of the "broadswors"

None of the swords are actually broadswords by the way. Broadswords have a hand guard that is shaped like a basket.

I think the Daedric sword is more of a Xiphos of the Spartan Hoplites.

is it compatible with real nordic hero weapons and real skyforge steel weapons (i dont know the actual name sorry)

It shouldn't cause any compatibility problems except if you have a mod that also renames one or more of the above weapons.

Might this be incompatible with any follower mods? I'm really happy to have found this - absolute must of a change. I greatly dislike the similarity of item names in the game. I only pray this will not conflict with anything.

I took a closer look at the silver sword and found you were absolutely right, shortsword is a much more fitting name for it. I made the change and uploaded it.

The silver swords are actually much shorter than the regular vanilla weapons. If it's easily enough done, I would change them to "Silver Shortsword" instead.

I'm sure many who are knowledgeable about weapons (e.g. not me who is a pathetic noob - does it have 2 edges? yep, sword) will appreciate this mod. One thing I enjoyed is that the Imperial sword is now called "gladius" which sounds pretty, well, Imperial.
Riekling bro looks pretty hardcore on the screenshots. I think he knew his picture was being taken.
