Sorry for necro, about those issues described in the posts below. It's not as bad as FPS goes here, my rig has resources to spare, but I have a noisy GPU, and I do hear my fans spinning up like crazy whenever I go into the workshop build menu to hang a painting. So there's something there, most def.
Might be just the sheer numbers of assets though. As the author has written above, it has 160! paintings each in several different sizes. Do the math. So if framedrops get too bad, try out which size pictures you like in-game, then just nuke the other sizes in FCS.

@Mechanica: One thing I really don't get though is why the costs are luxury goods. It's not a criticism, just a design question. It's all just decoration, serves no tactical or economical purpose, so why make the player pay for it with hard-to-get items instead of just, say, fabrics or build materials? Was the idea that only the rich people should have nice things^^?

I also noticed the frame drop when scrolling over this when in the Research window. Tried changing load order but didn't seem to help.

When saving the images as dds what should I use as the setting (I'm using paint. net btw)?

Hi i discovered a serious issue with mod installed. In the research men with this mod active, frame rate jumps up and down, spikes like crazy...for example 110 fps down to 50,up to 90,down to 30.... i thought my mouse was broken at first, realised it was jsut in research menu, then uninstalled UI mod, wasnt that, uninstalled one by one all research mods, and landed on this one.

Really odd that the frames can jump up n down like that just by being in menu,i understand u have lots of paintings so i can only guess in research menu the CPU or GPU is attempting to load them in virtually.

Either way please look into it i cant find it being a conflict.

Thank you i didn't realize thats all i had to do, i will fiddle some more with it and thanks again my family all play the game as our selfs so we put our actual family portraits in game lol :D.

@Team_KoD: If you open the mod in the FCS and find a painting that's the same shape as your picture, you can right click it and create a duplicate. Then if you open this new painting and right click the material, you can replace that with a copy using your picture as the texture map.

Updating the build mode icons would usually just require you to delete the old icon files, then the game will create a new one next time that thing is selected in the build menu. Due to the way I made the models, it's a little more complicated for these paintings. The game will generate icons with the camera facing the back of the painting, so to make the picture visible in the new icon you would have to remove the canvas part and change the material type from "default" to "foliage" (double sided)

love you for making this after spending hours about 6 *ashamed* i figured out how to change the pictures but my real question is how can i add more pictures? for the life of me i cant add them and i can't figure out how to change the picture when im in build mode so i can tell what im actually putting down still has the old icons o.O.

much much love either way!!

@Soy_sauce. Yeah, you could move the mod from the workshop folder to the kenshi mods folder, then replace the texture files with your images, or use the FCS to make new paintings if you want to keep the originals.

Is it possible to replace the image of this mod with one I drew?
g0jira 28. maj 2019 kl. 16:52
hah lol i didnt think about that :D thanks
Mechanica  [ophavsmand] 28. maj 2019 kl. 16:40
@g0jira It sounds like you might have built them facing the wall. If that's the case you can press Shift+F12, select the building and click interior edit mode, then rotate the paintings. When I update the mod I'll add use nodes so they're easier to build facing the right way.

hi, i built paintings, but they are empty, while... any idea whats going on ?

Nice mod, with the man pictures from the game as paintings after exploring for 6 books. There are four sizes: small medium and very large, with all images always cost 1 luxury goods. Here I would wish depending on the size of different quantities of luxury goods. The fix on the wall is Fummelarbeit, since these are mostly oblique and between picture and wall gaping a lie.

@Mechanica found it, "Art Collection" research, thank you for reply and for sharing your mod. awesome!
Mechanica  [ophavsmand] 29. mar. 2019 kl. 6:52
@abraham_allende No it doesn't require an import. There's a research to unlock them, have you completed that? Once that's done you should be able to find them in the paintings category on the construction menu.
Gaming in a Daydream 29. mar. 2019 kl. 0:51
Hi, is it required to do an import?, I can not find it anywhere on the construction menu how to build the paintings.
