Thanks for the quick update, everything works flawlessly.
A perfect mod for fellow Legionnaires
DerAlleinTiger  [autor] 16 iul. 2015 la 8:08
I've just updated to 2.4. I fixed the issue with the vanilla sword and bow improvement recipes using the Skyforge variants instead of the vanilla variants. You should be able to improve them now. I also changed the material type for all Skyforge Imperial gear items to Steel. This should NOT change whether they're heavy or light, but it should mean they're all affected by the Steel Smithing perk for improvement. I believe they will shift to the Steel section of the smithing menu now, but that shouldn't be much of an issue since they should only show up at the Skyforge anyway. So it won't be cluttering up every single forge you visit.

I'm pretty sure this mod is unsupported now but found a few bugs
It seems that the vanilla Imperial sword becomes unimprovable at the grindstones (I don't know about vanilla bow) I've checked it with other mods that I use and this mod is definitely the one that causes this bug.
The heavy armour set including the officer's helmet and the closed helmet are the only ones that are on-perk with steel smithting. Light armour sets can be improved but it would be better if they are on-perk like the heavy set. Also, skyforge Imperial sword and bow are off perk too.
p.s. Heavy Imperial armour is too heavy, heavier than Daedric

The legion needs more powerful warriors these days, the ebony warrior may not be able to help but the empire wants you to get skyforged weapons and armor, me? i go all out with that!
DerAlleinTiger  [autor] 13 nov. 2014 la 15:36
Precisely. It would explain the rarity of the helmet and also its likeness to the horseman helmet from Oblivion.
Darkslayer 13 nov. 2014 la 12:21
I've yet to see a Legion Cav detachment.

Using Cavalry in Skyrim is kinda like trying to use Tanks in Afghanistan, challenging in the most accessable areas.
DerAlleinTiger  [autor] 13 nov. 2014 la 12:19
Now that I'm thinking about it, it would make even more sense to be a cavalry helm because of its rarity. Skyrim's a harsh and rugged land, not the most suitable for large cavalry units. So cavalry would likely be pretty rare there, though probably not nonexistant. Regardless, it's a cool looking piece of armor and I figured I should include it anyway. And the extra little objects you need to craft it make it that much harder to craft.
Darkslayer 13 nov. 2014 la 12:11
I'm going to have to agree with you outright, you presented a solid statement backed by what you saw on Oblivion.
DerAlleinTiger  [autor] 13 nov. 2014 la 11:39
@Darkslayer_87 - No, no problem at all! Thank you for your support! The only thing I'd disagree on is the plumed helm because that is never confirmed to only be a general's helm. In fact, there are several places you can find it in the world. One is up on the mountain behind Froki's Shack, sitting beside a bunch of Legion gear that was dedicated to a shrine of Talos (hmm... funny that, Stormcloaks...). Another is inside that shipping den you meet the Argonian in during the Thieves Guild questline (can't remember the name) on a shelf. There are a few others places, too, but those are the two that I know for certain. It's common enough that I don't think it's only a general's helm. In fact, I always figured it was a cavalry helm since it's very similar to the Imperial horseman's helm from Oblivion.
Darkslayer 13 nov. 2014 la 9:47
Awesome mod. I enjoy being able to make every item on the list. The plumed helmet is unneccessary though, only General Tullius warrants the plumed helmet. However being able to make Skyforge of all Light, Medium (Studded Curiass), and Heavy Armor (Legate's Helmet included) is amazing. Good work.

I also use your We are Legion mod in order to have a diverse Legion that represents all races of the Empire with troops from all over the Empire instead of having a Legion that looks like it was recruited only locally and from the neighboring provinces.

I apologize for the freaking novel I just wrote on your mod page. However I would like to say that your mods (this one as well as We are Legion) are just plain awesome.
MSPainting 4 nov. 2014 la 10:48
How about a general tullius version?
low-res magic CONSUMER OF COFFEE 27 oct. 2014 la 18:48
oh ok, sorry to bug you
DerAlleinTiger  [autor] 27 oct. 2014 la 18:45
@CatGuyNoah - Two issues with that:

1. That requires an entirely different skillset from just modifying some objects in the CK. I need modeling software and the time/ability to create textures. While I am fairly handy with Photoshop, I frankly just don't have the time or patience to learn a modeling software for this; plus I'm not doing a whole lot of Skyrim modding anymore.

2. That kind of takes away from the point of the mod. The whole point is that you can wear the uniform alongside your Imperial Legion comrades and still have good gear. Making it a custom model would, well, kind of be counterintuitive.
low-res magic CONSUMER OF COFFEE 27 oct. 2014 la 17:31
Could you make custom models or just add decals to the skyforge variants.....or is that just me being picky?
DerAlleinTiger  [autor] 27 iul. 2014 la 18:27
@djpiggy557 - I actually liked the theme of the Legion. However, I was an NCR guy through and through. Tried all the different paths, but mostly favored the NCR. Legion were just dicks in that game, which I think might have severely influenced some peoples' thoughts on the Legion in Skyrim. I know it did with me. Not to mention the game opens up with them in a very bad light. You have to really look at the backstory and lore to appreciate the Legion in Skyrim.
Duffy 27 iul. 2014 la 18:23
Hell yes it is!, expet for fallout new vegas where it just does not belong
DerAlleinTiger  [autor] 27 iul. 2014 la 16:57
@djpiggy557 - I am, indeed, an Imperial supporter. I was with the Stormcloaks when the game first launched, but switched sides not long after for plenty of reasons. Also, the Roman theme is just awesome.
Duffy 27 iul. 2014 la 16:02
are you for the imperials or storm cloaks? just asking because you make alot of nice imperial mods (im for the imperials)
Mykomatos 14 iun. 2014 la 19:08
Ho thanks dude, i need this!
Down with the Stormcloaks!
DerAlleinTiger  [autor] 18 mai 2014 la 19:37
What do you mean by that? Can you refine them in-game at crafting benches and wheels? Yes, absolutely you can!
That1Guy 18 mai 2014 la 17:11
can you improve the weapons and armor?
DerAlleinTiger  [autor] 31 dec. 2013 la 1:57
lol Glad I could supply you with some better gear. Now go out and gut some rebels with it!
sierra_one_ 31 dec. 2013 la 1:53
After crying my eyes out in Castle Dour because my comrades called my lovely imperial blade a pig-sticker, I think I will greatly appreciate this mod.

Now I will have a Skyforge pig-sticker! Yay!
marshalice 14 dec. 2013 la 6:07
ok, thanks i guess, i will look into it first.
DerAlleinTiger  [autor] 13 dec. 2013 la 15:28
Also, you may want to check out this mod, made by the same person who made the Stormlord armor.

You're welcome to do that, and I don't want to sound aggressive or anything, but just remember that that's a lot of work. Modding is one thing, but creating new textures is another. I haven't tried it myself, but I've spoken to people who have, and they all say that it's far from easy. I suggest you get your feet wet with just using the CK before trying to dive into new textures.
marshalice 13 dec. 2013 la 2:32
I know, i was just saying that it would be nice, i don't need it, but if i were a modder (which i might one day become) i might do that...
DerAlleinTiger  [autor] 11 dec. 2013 la 2:03
Like I said before, I have neither the skills nor the software to create new textures. There's actually quite a lot of work that goes into creating new textures, work that I - frankly - do not have the time for at this point in my life. Plus, the whole point of the mod is to blend in with your fellow Legionnaires without having to use crappy armor. Giving it a different texture would kind of defeat the purpose.
marshalice 10 dec. 2013 la 23:44
Thank you, however i do agree with some people that the textures might better if they were unique.
DerAlleinTiger  [autor] 23 oct. 2013 la 11:44
Well, I don't really do retextures at the moment because I have neither the skill nor the proper software to do so. Plus, the whole point of this mod is to have high-level Imperial gear so that you can blend in with your Legionnaire comrades during the Civil War. Retexturing it would kind of ruin that, unless the new texture is applied to all the Imperial armor.
Wagglenak 23 oct. 2013 la 8:37
This mod is actualy alright but it could do with a retexture
DerAlleinTiger  [autor] 2 oct. 2013 la 12:14
I apologize to any of the intelligent users of this mod who may have received message notifications; but we had a troll issue. I play along with things for a post or two to see what's up, but I'm done when it comes down to "you mad?" as a response. It's laughable that these little weirdos think they're anything worth getting mad over. All they're worth to me at that point is a single mouse click right on the 'delete post' button.
DerAlleinTiger  [autor] 11 aug. 2013 la 22:53
Once I get a bit more experience, I might be able to create some sort of unique forge. I don't know what that might entail, but I can always fiddle around with the CK whenever I get the time for it.
skyrim boss 589 11 aug. 2013 la 22:52
ok
DerAlleinTiger  [autor] 11 aug. 2013 la 22:51
Well I'm not that experienced of a modder to create something like that. The Skyforge is convenietly set up in a way that it's coded as a unique forge. So you can set items to only be craftable at that forge. Since I didn't want to take away too much from the original armor set (why create the old when you can create the new just as easily?), I decided to go with the Skyforge as a unique requirement. Plus, it's just a way to make the whole thing make sense and sort of tie it into the lore/game logic.
skyrim boss 589 11 aug. 2013 la 22:50
whole not hole
skyrim boss 589 11 aug. 2013 la 22:49
didnt read hole description sorry
skyrim boss 589 11 aug. 2013 la 22:49
ok just saying you could invent your own forge
DerAlleinTiger  [autor] 11 aug. 2013 la 22:42
Not to be mean either but did you read the description? What's Eorlund going to do when you can use the Thu'um to Shout his wrinkly face halfway across Jorrvaskr? It's understandable that he wouldn't make it; but that's why he isn't the one doing it. You are.
skyrim boss 589 11 aug. 2013 la 22:40
just make an improved imperial armor or make up your own special forge
skyrim boss 589 11 aug. 2013 la 22:39
this isnt being mean but why would eorlund greymane make stuff for imperials since he supports the stormcloaks
DerAlleinTiger  [autor] 11 aug. 2013 la 19:28
@The Last Warbender
I believe I have fixed the issue with tempering the sword and bow! Unlike what my previous comment claimed, I did, indeed, screw up. With so many CK items, I got mixed up while making the tempering recipes.

The issue was that I copied all of the recipes off of the original ones (i.e. the temper recipe for the vanilla sword). Problem is, I forgot to change the product of that recipe from the vanilla sword to the Skyforge sword. So you were basically getting a tempered vanilla sword rather than a tempered Skyforge one. I made the same mistake when I added the bow.

It should be fixed now. Let me know if it's still giving you issues. Just note that you're going to have to re-craft and re-temper the sword and bow before the true values should show up.
cmzpowrrangr 4 aug. 2013 la 13:00
having a sword pressed against ones neck can change ones mind but like you say stubborn as all hell
DerAlleinTiger  [autor] 4 aug. 2013 la 12:35
No. I have neither the programs nor the experience to create brand new textures. Tullius already has a unique cuirass in the vanilla game. I've seen one mod that adds in some Imperial Generals Bracers that you can craft, but I don't think Tullius uses them. Someone might have made a mod that adds in boots and bracers for him to wear. You might want to search for one.

Also, I don't think the Legion would just execute an innocent man for not making them armor. He's not making armor for the rebels. He's simply not making any for them, and that's not something they'd execute someone over. Just because he's backing the Stormcloaks and one of his sons has gone off to join the rebels, that does not mean they can execute HIM. He's still a civilian. And even IF they did threaten him with death, he'd likely take death over helping his enemy. He's stubborn like that.
cmzpowrrangr 4 aug. 2013 la 12:13
so either way they would get skyforge armor and weapons
cmzpowrrangr 4 aug. 2013 la 12:11
oh and it would make sense if rikke got the new armor AFTER you defend whiterun (since whats his name lives in whiterun which would be under imperial control so really he would have no choice in the matter either that or he would be executed
cmzpowrrangr 4 aug. 2013 la 12:08
hm do you know about making new armor or manipulating existing textures?
because it would be kind of neat if tullius had special armor
DerAlleinTiger  [autor] 4 aug. 2013 la 12:04
And now that I think about it, the Legate don't even really fight. Rikke is the only one I know of who actually fights at all. So I might put some on her just for the sake of making her tougher (though she really doesn't seem to need it).
