Housekeeping update (finally got to it).

Changelog:
  • Modified ship size and asset files to significantly reduce "spam" in error.log file
  • Added built-in support for Dark Avian Shipset
  • Added built-in support for Guilli's Plantoid Ship Graphics Pack
  • Considerable spam will still be there in the error.log file until the authors of the two mods above update their compatibility fixes with the udpated asset files

Changelog:
  • Adjusted annoying ring tilt to match planet axial tilt. Planets with no axial tilt will still have tilted rings.
  • Ship view
    • Increased window size to accommodate up to 8 component slots from 7 (+2 for other mods like Ship Power Stations and Advanced Ship Behavior Modules)
    • Increased window size to accomodate 14 armaments and utilities slots from 13
  • Removed nanobot drone deployment sound for support cruisers coz its annoying when there are a lot of them in one place
  • Made aura range circles even more subdued
  • Reduced ship aura and nanobot cloud particles to improve performance on lower-end setups
  • Re-coded ship auras as a workaround for AI component selection bug in Heinlein v1.3.1
  • Electronic-Attack Cruisers and Support Cruisers should now be built by AI with the correct ship auras

Version 1.4.2

This update focuses on the support cruiser and the new electronic attack cruiser, both of which belong to the new auxiliary class of ships. Here are the details:

NOTE: Heinlein v1.3.1 made a mess of combat computers and ship auras. AI ship designs (and clicking on the auto-complete button in the ship designer) will always default to corvette combat computers and defensive auras. This means AI electronic attack cruisers might have defensive auras so I have temporarily disabled the AI from building it. Players will still be able to do so. We will have to wait until Paradox corrects this.

Support Cruiser
  • Defensive auxiliary-class ship. Intended for improving survivability of smaller sub-capital ships and can serve as escorts for civilian ships
  • Requires Sentinel Point Defence and Spaceport Level V to unlock
  • Weapons loadout: 2 x PD slots, 1/0 x M slots, 2/4 x S slots (Broadside/Gunship stern)
  • Utilities loadout: 3 x L slots, 6 x M slots, 2 x A slots
  • Defensive auras:
    • 1 x nanobot cloud (fixed), 1 x shield recharger (optional when researched)
    • Fixed aura slot has no power/mineral cost
    • Optional aura slot costs 195/250 power/minerals
    • Both auras work simultaneously but will not stack from multiple ships
  • Aura has limited range (40) so the ship utilizes cruiser-class combat computers for median range engagements
  • Several ships may be needed to cover a large engagement area
  • New cosmetic effects and animation:
    • 8 x nanobot drones (emits green nanobot cloud)
    • Zoom in close enough and you will see the nanobots swarming around
    • Blue lighting theme (defensive) to differentiate from the e-attack cruiser (red theme)
  • Changed ship section names so existing support cruisers will need to be scuttled or upgraded or there will be missing 3D models for the mid and bow sections

Electronic Attack Cruiser
  • Offensive auxiliary-class ship for fleet electronic warfare missions
  • Requires Sentinel Point Defence and Spaceport Level V to unlock
  • Weapons loadout: 2 x PD slots, 1/0 x M slots, 2/4 x S slots (Broadside/Gunship stern)
  • Utilities loadout: 3 x L slots, 6 x M slots, 2 x A slots
  • Offensive auras:
    • 1 x shield dampener (fixed), 1 x quantum destabilizer (optional when researched)
    • Fixed aura slot has no power/mineral cost
    • Optional aura slot costs 195/250 power/minerals
    • Both auras work simultaneously but will not stack from multiple ships
  • Aura has limited range (40) so the ship utilizes cruiser-class combat computers for median range engagements
  • Several ships may be needed to cover a large engagement area
  • New cosmetic effects and animation:
    • Red lighting theme (offensive) to differentiate from the support cruiser (blue theme)

Other Changes
  • New aura effect on allied and hostile ships (blue for defensive auras, red for offensive)
  • Toned down aura range circle (color remains the same, difficult to change)
  • Changes in the aura effect will make this incompatible with the Reduced Aura Graphics mod
  • Ship view
    • Increased window size to accommodate up to 7 component slots
    • Increased window size to accomodate 13 armaments and utilities slots
  • Increased ship fleet icon spacing to accommodate 9 icons from 8
  • Changed species-specific engineering techs to trigger only on tech increase (credits to folk for this improvement)
