Ring of Apokalypsis Update

For anyone that ever doubted me, here is my retort! I reported as much changes & bugs as I could, but it is likely I still missed a few things. If I missed anything, do let me know! I know I said this before, but this will likely be the last major update for the mod, bug squashing aside. I'll also be pushing for a tag release on the gore system in the future, as well as pushing for a standalone "Brutality Classic," where the maps and sandbox is 100 percent faithful to vanilla CE, since I know not everyone may be fond of the changes I made.

General Changes

Assault Rifle max ammo buffed to 420.
Assault Rifle has an independent grenade launcher, can no longer throw regular grenades.

Brutes have their own unique gib effects.
Brute Spike Grenades added as a third grenade type.
Brute Plasma Rifle added, courtesy of CMT's H2 Coagulation mod for Custom Edition.

Magnum firing sound replaced with revolver, courtesy of Fubih's Aerial mod.
Magnum's first person model tweaked with red bevel.
Magnum's texture updated.
Dead Orion Cyborg bipeds removed.
Master Chief's death sounds are now using more notable screams from Halo 2 and 3.
Rocket Launcher now uses ZTeam's first person H2 animations, including a faux lock-on hud element for firing homing rockets.
Rocket Launcher's HUD now has target elements to help aid with firing homing rockets.
Removed the dual pistols due to redundancy, both with the default pistol and magnum present.
Sentinels have Major variants from Halo 2, courtesy of The Flood: Forgotten Exile Developers.
Smaller gib landing sounds are now more "icky" sounding.
Slugman shaders re-vamped to better match the Hunter's armor (they're both made up of the same worms, after all).
Custom sounds re-compiled to Xbox ADPCM.
Weapon zoom sounds from later Halo games added for weapons that can zoom in (rocket, pistol, ect.)

KNOWN BUGS
Brute Flood lighting is busted under dynamic flashlights.
Hornet AI biped refuses to close the cockpit.
Some impact effects for the Brute Plasma Rifle appear blue when impacting some bipeds.
Slugman Spec Ops's gibbing defaults to the regular Slugman shaders. I simply forgot to make the separate effect.

Update: Jun 25, 2024 @ 4:52am

Revelations Update

Any emerging bugs aside, this is the last major update for Halo: Brutality Evolved, and I intend to end it with a BLAM!

- 357 magnum added, courtesy of Jahrain and altis94. Sounds by Crowbar Collective.
- Additional Elite death audio added, ripped from Halo 2 and 3.
- Additional encounter tweaks to all of the levels.
- Additional music cues added from the Halo Legends soundtrack.
- Armored Marine chest gibbing backported from CMT SPV2.
- Billboard updated.
- Charged homing rocket damage nerfed. It now shares the same damage values from firing a normal rocket.
- Covenant uplink crates have additional audio cues from the original Xbox UI sounds.
- Dual pistols firing sound swapped to classic.
- Elite limb gibs reduced by one leg gib.
- Final assault in Two Betrayals includes ODST backups, taking inspiration from HAVOC MOD.
- Foehammer's death scream restored, both in the final cutscene as well as destroying the pelican with explosives.
- Fuel Rod Cannon FP animations by Jackal Stomper of TM Mapping Team.
- Fuel Rod Cannon shaders fixed, courtesy of Halo CE Revised on Github.
- Golden MOA rewarding a rare grenade type: C4. C4 has a three second arm time, and the explosion radius is huge. Use with caution by taking cover after a toss! Courtesy of Tiamat.
- Golden MOA spawns adjusted in each level for hard to reach places.
- Gore sounds re-worked.
- Grunt minors can now only be decapitated. Any other grunt rank gibs like the rest; leaving a head around. This wasn't because of any performance or bugs. I just wanted to add some gib diversity.
- Hud elements tweaked
- Level Keyes Floodcarrier coolant spam spanw replaced with infected combat elites.
- Marine animations backported from CMT SPV2.
- Needler animations backported from CMT SPV2.
- Needler damaged buffed against Hunters, taking inspiration from Ruby's Rebalanced.
- ODSTs! Special units appear in rare circumstances, mostly in T&R and Two Betrayals. Gibs also included!
- Pelicans can be destroyed by explosions! Doing this may affect the outcome of your missions, so proceed to betray with caution.
- Rare case missile launcher added, courtesy of of Bungie, 343 & the Digsite crew. Third person camera courtesy of Halo CE Revised on Github.
- SLUGMAN! Cut slugmen enemies make a return on select missions, courtesy of Bungie, 343 & the Digsite crew. Gibs included!
- Some turrets replaced with a non-pilotable, but turret usable Shadow, courtesy of of Bungie, 343 & the Digsite crew.
- Spirit dropships & explosions backported from CMT SPV2.
- The Library's audio ambiance made creepier, from the original Xbox UI sounds.
- The Library's map lighting is made darker.
- TSC Ghost spawns from Dropship restored.
- Unique limb gibs for Jackals.
- Warthog run's second half plays Gungnir Mix.

There's likely a few other tweaks made that went over my head. If there's any bugs or any other issues with the mod, then do let me know. Have fun!

Gib Reduction Act

- Limb gibs reduced to two instead of all four. This helps with gib spamming, dropped weapons & ragdolls de-spawning. This also helps with the overall presentation of the gibbing instead of having limbs awkwardly cluttered at times when a body explodes.
- Flood horde audio queues added to The Maw.
- Last hidden weapons cache in The Library tweaked. Gravity Hammer replaced with the Fuel Rod Cannon. Environmental storytelling was also tweaked.
- Dual pistols & ammo spawning in The Silent Cartographer fixed, but for realsies this time I swear!
- Truth & Reconciliation's pelican is classic; no chainguns. The level is stealth, so it makes sense to drop the turret variant. More importantly, this is also to fix a bug regarding troops being dropped off on the second level of the hanger.

This will likely be my last major update to the main campaign for Brutality Evolved. Why? Well, I want to concentrate on bonus levels for this mod, as well as work on other projects like Trottingham Firefight improvements. Be sure to re-sub to the mod to see changes, and stay tuned. TYVM!
