Just had another idea (in line with the one I proposed). I don't know if it's possible, but if yes, you should try to make it so when we dual-cast the spell (with the perk), it doubles the effect, meaning that a greater soul gem would be transmuted to a black soul gem directly. This would add a use to the dual-casting perk if used with my first idea.

Or alternatly, make lesser versions of the Azura's star. Like have a way to fuse three of four Common soul gems together to make one permanent Common soul gem that isn't destroyed when used in crafting. It wouldn't let people turn petty soul gems into Black soul gems with repeated castings, but it would let them turn lots of petty soul gems into permanent petty gems which could help ensure that you always have copies of the lesser gems on hand when harvesting souls. That and when gathering the bigger gems you can make them permanent so its not a problem if they get filled with a smaller soul.

Just got the mod so I haven't had a lot of time to test it (plus with my current char, I haven't been doing much enchanting and was planning to use the Azura's Star Replica mod to get multiple black stars and was mostly looking for a mod to get lots of black soul gems... so I really haven't tested this much).

But anyway, if there is any concern about the balance of using one spell to turn petty soul gems into black soul gems with repeated castings... maybe have multiple spells? Like 'Trasnmute Petty to Lesser', 'Transmute Lesser to Common', and so on. Each successive level of transmuting has a higher magicka cost and so forth (maybe even list the 'Transmute Grand to Black' as a Master level spell that you have to complete the Alteration Master Ritual thing to be able to buy. It would make the spells seem like something more to aspire to. (maybe even have a spell that turns common gems into petty soul gems to explain the presese of all the soul gems without big mining operations).

@Aidyn Yeah, I found out that the bug only effects the filled gems that dont have the top quality soul in them. So it doesn't seem to be to big of a deal, as for your other idea that my good sir is brilliant. I will definitly look into that

Also, while I think about it, I only saw the tome available at the alteration trainer in the college (don't remember his name). Is that normal? If not, it might simply be one of my HO-SO-MANY mods conflicting.

Great mod, tried it for a few days and works fine. By the way, it doesn't seem to transmute my filled soul gem, so the bug might not be with your mod. Anyway, if I may make a suggestion, transmuted soul gems should be transmutted to something different. For instance: A greater soul gem should be transmutted to a "transmutted grand soul gem", thus preventing it from being re-transmutted to black. The reason why I suggest this change is that making black soul gems available for less than 50 gold is not quite balancing (transmutting petty up until black), especially when all what else it cost you is time. Just a friendly suggestion, as I don't even have any idea how complicated that would be.

@Aidyn Yes, it will change Grand soul gems into Black ones.

@d3pth in the console type: "help transmute"
it will display a list of items, one of which is the spell book it's ID will be in the form of: (XX0012C7) Where 'XX' is the order in which the mod was loaded. Simply type: "player.addItem XX0012C7 1" in the console and you should recieve the book, use it and you learn the spell. For example in my Skyrim the id is 080012C7 so I replace the XX with 08 and I would type: "player.addItem 080012C7 1" to recieve the tome. Depending on how many mods you have the first two hex digits will be different. But I am about to add it to the NPC vendor inventories so if all else fails in a couple of days I should have R2 up and you will be able to purchase it whereever spell books are sold.

what is the command to add the item?

Does this mod allow to create Black soul gem?
