Introduction
If you tried to play the game with an Xbox 360 Controller, you've probably found out there are some issues with it.
Alongside the Gamepad Fix, i made a FAQ section which should help with other questions related to the game.

If you have more questions, feel free to post them in the comments!
If you like this guide, give it a Thumbs Up, and if you really like it, add it to your favorites.

Install
  • Download this File[app.box.com] Mirror Link[www.4shared.com].
  • Unzip it
  • Paste all the files (including the folder) on BloodRayne 2 installation folder (Default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BloodRayne 2) and replace the original files when prompted.

Controls

I've binded the controls (by default) using the original Xbox[en.wikipedia.org] controls layout, with some small changes.
If you don't like it, you can change it on the Controls menu (ingame).

FAQs
Does this really work?

I've only tested it on my machine, and it's working great. Unfortunately i can't test it on another machine, so i guess you have to test it and give me some feedback.

Which gamepads are supported?

This was tested and tuned for my wired 360 controller. It should work with other Xinput controllers.

The game setup doesn't show my native resolution.. How can i change it?

You can use the Unofficial BloodRayne 2 FSAA Patch[www.coopdb.com]. It has lots of improvements. You need to disable the Steam Overlay if you want to use a custom resolution, otherwise the screen will (probably) get messy.

Can i use this Controller Fix alongside the BloodRayne 2 FSAA Patch?

Yes, you can use both.

Videos display a black screen, but audio plays fine!

Setting the BloodRayne 2 executable BR2.exe compatibility mode, with Vista SP2 worked for me. You can also use the BloodRayne 2 FSAA Patch, it has an option to fix the videos playback issue.

How can i play BloodRayne 1 with a controller?

I have more questions...

Feel free to post them, or to give me your feedback.

Uninstall
If for some reason, you want to remove it:

Delete the following files: Dinput.dll, Dinput8.dll, XInput1_3.dll, XInputPlus.ini and the following folder: system from the game folder (Default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BloodRayne 2)
From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu, select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache button. Steam will download the game's missing files.

This fix was made using xinputplus wrapper, created by 0dd14.

Sure would be nice to download the file without some sketchy service trying to download an extension to chrome.

I had some time to play with this and got it working (kinda). You need to download Xinput Plus and open up the profile for BR2 that the original author already made. Then go to settings tab --> DLL files and check "Xinput1_1.dll" then click the "Apply" button. Controller support might work after this.

I tried on 1 PC with my xbox 360 wireless controller and it worked right away. I tried on a different PC and this method kinda works. The wireless controller will not be picked up by the game. I can get an off brand (afterglow) wired xbox 360 controller to work with this game. Where it gets weird, if after the game is running (and the wired controller is working), I can unplug the wired controller and turn on the wireless controller, the wireless controller now works for the game.

I’m mentioning this hoping someone with more tech know how than me might have a clue as to why.

Not working for me either. Game says I have no gamepad connected, but I do.

welp, worked just fine until the latest set of client updates. Phoquin Valve n their awful update policy of "Stuff not broken enough?! Let's break the 5hit out of it!" tried reinstalling it to no avail. needless to say, it's the only variable that changed since yesterday - doubt it's anything else that caused the fix to not function at all. controller works 'fine' w/o the fix (albeit with all its shortcomings of not actually having all the xinput features n being a complete mess, but I digress). so i guess the only thing i'm left with, is to finish the bloody game with kb/m, which I shudder at the very thought of. disgusting Valve just keeps on giving - up the but.:steamsalty:

@ Your Mother : I have no idea... I don't have a Dualshock 4 to test it... But you can try to use the DS4 in DirectInput mode (maybe without the software, just plugged in... or something like "Hide DS4" option) and try to configure the gamepad yourself.
Another workaround is trying to use the new Steam Interface option and create a mapping for the keyboard keys.

Is there a way to make this work with dualshock 4 controller? I use DS4Windows to emulated it to Xbox 360 controller. But the game didn't recognize it.
