``Then the madness begins'' - Septimus Signus

Calling Mabynna mad isn't fair. She's not mad, just a bit touched in the head. There's a reason certain books are kept under lock and key in the Arcanaeum. There are things men and mer are not meant to know. Mabynna was a rising student at the college before she picked that lock and read those books. Now she's a homeless vagrant who hears things others cannot. The voices in her head are telling her that the Dragonborn is coming.

Mabynna is a Breton Conjurer follower. She is very skilled in alteration, conjuration, and destruction. She is envisioned as an eccentric and itinerant mage seeking after forbidden knowledge. She comes with a high disposition towards the character, so maybe they know each other in some way, or perhaps the voices are telling her to follow the Dragonborn. Just ask her to follow you and she will. All she asks for in return is a share in the secrets you uncover. She is also marriageable.

Mabynna can be found living in the ruined house just west of the Western Watchtower. There is a non-respawning sack next to the bed (the other container at the ruined house does respawn so beware).

Note that it can be hard to get Mabynna to wear clothing other than her default rags. Sometimes she will appear to be wearing her rags even though her inventory shows that other clothing is equipped. This is a known problem with all NPCs in respect to clothing with zero armor value.

Sometimes you can catch her singing quietly to herself while following you.
