Most of the problems related to rendering are caused by the GPU. While most AMD cards work fine with Vegas Pro, some cards, mostly ones made by NVIDIA, are known to work poorly with the software. 90% of problems with rendering can be fixed by disabling GPU acceleration.

Go to Options -> Preferences and open the Video tab. Set GPU acceleration of video processing to Off and restart Vegas. This should stop the rendering window from freezing or crashing, and prevent any visible rendering errors from occurring.

In the next section, we will make sure our project is properly set up for rendering.
Setting up your project correctly
Begin by clicking the gear icon in the main toolbar. You will be presented with a project properties window. There are many pre-made templates, so you can start either by picking one and edit it, or make a new one from scratch. For this guide, I will show you how to set up a project for 1080p.

We are making a progressive video, so set Field order to None. Leave
Pixel aspect ratio to 1 and Output rotation to 0.
For your framerate, choose either 29,970 for 30fps video or 59,940 for 60fps video.
Set your Pixel format to 32-bit and your View transform to Off.
Set Full-resolution rendering quality to Best.
Set Deinterlace method to None.
Set Resample mode to Disable resample to reduce rendering time and remove blurriness from the rendered video.

Time to render!
Now it's time to test if everything works. Begin by clicking the Render as icon in the main toolbar. A window will pop up with lots of differend options.

You can choose a codec in the Output format section. I personally recommend Sony AVC/MVC for YouTube and Internet. Select a template and click on Customize. Check if everything matches:

Bit rate
Check below

In the audio tab, just change the bit rate to 384kbps.

A couple of notes:
Remember to change the framerate, depending on your project.
You can max out the bit rate if you want, but it will increase your file size and it will take much longer to upload the video. I've found 16mbps to be great for 30fps 1080p video. For 60fps, I just max it out.

Well, that's it then! I hope this guide has been helpful to you with fixing the problems with your software.

The GPU was disabled by Default? No wonder why i had an error. At least I found on youtube. I cannot allow to render using GPU as it doesn't have that options so I prefer CPU Rendering. Finally I found what I was looking for to Render.

Alain_JP,
in vegas menu :
Options-->Preferences-->Video Tab

set core count to 1 ,
and keep memory at 200 Meg bytes .
your GPU may or may not be recognized .
for this testing ,
set GPU to OFF .

close and re-launch vegas
for those vegas settings to take affect .
now
Open\load your vegas .veg or .vf project file and try to render again .

in DVD Architect , to burn blu-ray ,...compliant video is always either :

1920 x 1080i 29.97 fps interlaced
or
1920 x 1080p 24 fps progressive
or
1280 x 720p 59.94 fps progressive

There is a problem Ive discovered on vegas pro 14 and 15 demo - enabling the AMD card - causing the colouring to muck up....of any imported video.....the specfici card is AMD RX Vega 64 - i suspect its a driver issue......or the way vegas works with Vega....any who disabling the video adapter above screen then in preferences enabling legacy GPu rendering fixes it - but you wont get the 25% increas in performance like in vegas 15 having it on - i tested on RX 580 no issues.
