Just got your first platinum? Don't know what it is or how you even got them in the first place? Well too bad for you!

Introduction

What are Platinums and how do I get them?
Platinum medals (shown as a trophy for some reason) are a "hidden target" in certain events, and only revealed when their requirements are met. They're reportedly set by a developer, and always harder than Gold (the difficulty bump varies widely). Because of their secretive nature, most players' first platinum will be achieved by accident. If you're a completionist who's not satisfied with merely attaining Golds in every event, be prepared to put in some practice!

Does every event have a platinum?
No. Events where you race against AI opponents don't have platinums (you can't get better than first, can you?). Only solo game modes have it, and they are:

• Speed

• Survival

These modes also have global leaderboards, for the very best pilots whom platinums are still not enough. True end-game goes beyond medals and trophies...

So, that's quite a large number of platinums to be awarded. To show that all of them are possible:


All requirements are correct as of 1.6.1. Please let me know if any of them changes in a future patch! (it's happened a few times in the past) Send me a screenshot of the new requirement and I'll update accordingly.

you can pull off anything with either keyboard or controller. there are no real differences between those two in this game. it's whatever suits you better.

You can pull the Welcome Trial off with a keyboard. but is a lot easier with a controller. start to strafe first then turn in as needed. is weird at first if you got use to turn in then strafe.
