When you're in the Coven

So you're a witch, and you don't know which roles to claim. Or you get the basic gist of it but like, nothing works? Well here's some tips for what to claim, some things to do and y'know.

Okay I made this mostly for myself deal with it.

Intro

So there was nothing I could use for myself when in a tight spot, so these are for all the witches (not town roles added by the DLC or basic roles) to use.

Its not a step by step, and you have to be familiar with the game. But there are some tips and tricks, as well as roled you can claim. For the most part my tip is: Talk in coven chat and win.

Coven Leader

Woop, you're the leader. AKA Coven Evil.

The investigator will see : A Lookout, Forger, Amnesiac, or Coven Leader.

You can claim Lookout, if you want you can try to claim something else but they're frankly not belivable, so lookout is your best bet.

You work like a witch, for the most part. One method you should use is making a person go to medusa, ask her to turn stone gaze on and make a troublesome town member go on a lil' stroll to them.

Try to find a doctor to heal the coven. And make sure to communicate, if someone is say a doctor and you make them go to medusa it's a good idea to suggest to a team member to claim doctor, as no one can deny that unless someone else is also claiming it.

Hex Master

You are Hex Master, Coven Evil.

The investigator will see: A Framer, Vampire, Jester, or Hex Master.

You don't have a lot of options here if you're playing classic, Jester maybe -If you claim you were an executioner whose target died -But then again, who would believe you? One thing to do is to wait until day two, and if any town members are dead you can start 'trolling' or being an obvious jester.

Tell your Coven what is going on, that you're going to pretend to be Jester and that if they start to vote you up they ought to claim 'Obviously a jester' or something of the like. This only works if your coven aren't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ though, so beware.

If coven knows someone is a town member and what role they are, try to suggest to rest of coven to send whoever to Medusa so you can claim said role. Make sure your Will is belivable, one good way is to listen to what people are saying (Thanks for healing me doc!) and mix people who already died (If Joe died n2 you healed him n1 and so on) sprinkled with coven member who can confirm.

Poisoner

You are a Poisoner, Coven Evil!

The Investigator will see: A Sheriff, Executioner, Werewolf, or Poisoner.

Best tactic is to encourage a town member into being excecuted, then 'admit' you were exe and on towns team. You can also fake being Sheriff, which is harder but if an exe is already confirmed (try to get exe killed by medusa if you can) this might be your best bet as RT is a lifesaver.

For the record, when you get the Necronomicon you appear as NS. But before that, you're coven for the Sheriff.

Potion Master

You are a Potion Master, Coven Evil.

The investigator will see: A Doctor, Disguiser, Serial Killer, or Potion Master.
Doctor is your best bet, try to get whoever is Doc or just a RT turned into stone by medusa if you can. Using the revealing potion can be a big help for your team mates, as you can encourage them to be stoned if town so that coven can claim the role of whoever they are.

Healing potions are good if your team members are in trouble, and killing ones good if you find a critical role but no one else can do away with them. Remember that without the Necro-book you have a 3 day cool-down, but with it you can use one each night. So try to put it to good use.

Medusa

You are Medusa, A coven Evil!

The Investigator will see: A Survivor, Vampire Hunter, Witch, Medusa or Psychic.

If you asked me I would say to not claim any of the above, psychic is hard to fake until you get a good grasp on it, and the others are just not... Belivable.

Make your coven leader send someone to you, and if the leader realises they're town -Ask to claim the role.

With the Necronomicon, you may visit players and turn them to stone. You also get three times, so use these wisely. Before the Necro-Book ask for Leaders help, and try to be active in the chat as to help out your team into winning.

Necromancer

You are a Necromancer, A coven evil.

An investigator will see: A Medium, Janitor, Retributionist, Necromancer or Trapper.

Be careful about what you claim, RT is good for claiming some roles above but honestly getting away with claiming this is based on luck. Try to claim anything town that medusa has stoned, or just stay really quiet and hope for the best. Nontheless, have a fake will ready -Several if your situation needs it.

Keep active in the chat with the coven, you might make some friends, and more importantely -WIN.

For HM, I think for claim space, you do have a ton of claim options when you are in a more advanced setups because you have the excuse of being Hexed (or framed if Mafia is in game/CAA game).

I think some good advice for necro is NEVER EVER EVER EVER CLAIM RET NO MATTER WHAT! Everybody assumes rets are necros in coven plus might be a real ret. Trust me, I've seen too many necros fall to that.
