How to hack in items

This guide will show you how to hack items into The Escapists using Cheat Engine.

Fore-warning

You must do this with extreme caution, as hacking items into your game has a chance of breaking your save file.

Also, you must use the exact ID for every item. A list of item IDs can be found here.[theescapists.gamepedia.com]

How to hack

Now I will show you how to hack in items.

1. Open Cheat Engine
   
2. Open TheEscapists_eur.exe
   
3. Put a Comb Shiv in your weapon slot
   
4. Change the box marked "Value Type" to String
   
5. Scan for 109 (this is the ID for the Comb Shiv)
   
6. Remove the Comb Shiv
   
7. Find an address with a blank value (this is your weapon slot)
   
8. Change the value to any item ID
   
9. Reload the profile (exit and bring it up again)

And there you go! You have hacked in an item!

Notes

• For an item with durability, enter at the end of the ID _%%% (replace % with a number)
  
• If you enter an unknown ID, the tooltip for the item will be completely blank, and it will use either a random sprite from another item or a pink square
  
• A glitched item does not do anything
