Symphonic Rain 100% Achievement Guide

A guide that will lead to 100% achievements and completing the game to it's fullest.

Description

Symphonic Rain takes place in a fictional city of apparently Italian heritage, where rain falls every day. The locals there have adapted to this peculiar phenomenon, and carry on with their lives as if the rain was never there. No one takes an umbrella, no one wears a rain coat.

The main character of the story is 17 year old Chris, a Fortelle student of the famous Piova Communal School of Music (Scuola Comunale di Musica Piova, in Italian). Separated from his childhood sweetheart Arietta when he left his home town for the city, he keeps in touch with her through the means of weekly letters. Penning their thoughts on those letters, Chris treasures and keeps her weekly writings, for he had promised her that should his drawer become totally filled with them, he would return to her.

The game starts during Chris's third year as a student, a few months before he has to take the school's final graduation examination: a staged performance. As an instrumentalist, he is required to search for a vocalist partner before he is eligible for the examination.

Walkthrough Introduction

Symphonic Rain has five effective "routes." After completing the routes of the three heroines (Lise, Fal, and Torta), you can access the fourth route, and after completing the fourth route, the final route. I will attempt to keep this as spoiler-free as possible, but do note that the secret achievements will be here, so there's a bit of a chance of spoilers as far as those go.

I've determined that the best way to play this game lorewise is to progress through the three heroine routes as follows: Fal, Lise, Torta. So that's what I will be doing in this guide.

Note that Autoplay is a thing that can be turned on and off in the options menu to make life a lot easier for people who aren't rhythm game masters, but in order to get Lise's bad ending, you have to fail a song, so make sure to have autoplay turned off for that. This is labelled as "Adventure Part" in the options menu, while FreePlay is the songs you can play from the ones you've unlocked in the main menu.

Skipping the mini-game is possible, though it will result in failing it for that attempt. This can be done by holding down the ESC key on your keyboard.

The days of the week are in Italian, but here they are in case you need them:

Introduction - In The City of Rain

Progressing through the introduction will eventually lead you to the opening song. This will unlock you your first achievement for a while.



In The City of Rain: Saw the opening movie during gameplay.


After this, create your Save 1 file when Torta prompts you to respond with either "Don't deny it" or "Explain carefully." This will be your global starting point for this entire game.

Bad Ending Achievement

This section will net you one achievement for getting a regular bad ending. Basically, you're meeting the girls, but prioritizing practicing your own song (Phorni's Song) rather than trying to get a partner.

Note that for Lise's bad ending, on January 20th you will need to fail the recital together, which means that you will need to have autoplay turned off for story mode then, because you won't be able to fail with it on.

This section of the guide will earn you two achievements, if you have been following it to the letter.








This is the last of the three heroine routes.

When Torta asks you to wait for her, create Save 4.

After completing Al Fine, you can access Al Fine's ending via the Torta Route from Chris' perspective by choosing to wait for her. This won't affect achievements, it's just for enjoyment.



Torta: Good Ending - Saw Torta's good ending






al fine - Saw three endings to unlock the "al fine" route.

al fine (Torta Ending Ver.B)

Once al fine is unlocked after completing all three heroine routes with their good endings, you will be able to pick them from the "Game Start" menu. "Da Capo" will be playing as Chris once again, while "Al Fine" will have you play from Torta's perspective, and understand a bit more about what Chris is like and why she cares about him. There's two achievements to unlock in this go, and there's only a few choices, so just enjoy the ride of al fine, and unravel the secrets of why it rains so much in Piova. After completing that, prepare for the final route!

Note: After getting this achievement, you can reload Save 4 and pick "Wait for Torta," and you'll trigger this ending from Chris' perspective.

Torta Ending Ver.B - Saw Torta's other good ending.

Final Route (Grand Ending, Symphonic Rain)

This is the final route, and will be played after "al fine" is completed. This will be played in the "da capo" section of the story. It seperates from the main game by asking if you wish to remember something. If you want to access the three original routes, click "I don't want to remember." However, if you want to progress to the final route, click "I have to remember." This means that you will be playing as Chris. Considering you've been following my guide's instructions, you will have all the bad ends and all the good ends, which will unlock the "Symphonic Rain" achievement after completing this playthrough. If the "Symphonic Rain" achievement does not unlock, reload Save 3, get Lise's good ending again, and that will unlock the achievement.

So, in the end, you should now have 12/13 achievements. All you have to do to complete the last achievement is to play through the song "Even if Tears Run Down Your Cheeks (Phorni ver.)" in Free Play mode. That's it.

One update to this guide. You have to do really good on your performance on 12/14 on Torta's route. I found out that if you get not enough practice as a response you failed it, and you get shifted to the default bad ending instead of Torta's route at that point. You'll also know this happened when 12/18 hits and the choice doesn't occur.

Hm, maybe yeah, any ending will do )
So for anyone not getting the achievement: just try to watch any ending once more after you get them all.

@Alex I reloaded a previous save with Lise and got her good ending. That unlocked the achievement for me. I think it's bugged.

It seems you can't really get 'Watched every ending' until you watch the Torta true ending in da capo mode.
