How to change the resolution in Spore

In spore you can't really change the resolution in the options, so in this guide ill show you how! (or at least i cant but with this guide i can)

1. How to check your resolution

a.Press the Windows key

b.Above the power button there is a gear, click it.

c.Search in top bar "resolution", then it shold say Change the resolution in the display, click that

d.Scroll all the way down and it will say resolution and below it it will say whatever your resolution is for example "1024 x 768"

e. copy the resolution , or write it down

2.Going to Spore's contents

a.Go to your steam library

b.Right click Spore, then at the bottom click Properties

c.Then at the top you will see, Local files click that

d.Then click the top one, the top one is Browse Local Files click that

e.Click Data EP1, then click Config then ConfigManager

3. Changing the resolution

a. Press Ctrl+F and a liltle window will apear

b.In the liltle window type "resolution" and press Find next

c.Then at the bottom you should see Resolution

d.Scroll down untill you see "seti resolutionTarget (1024*768)"

e.Change (1024*768) to your resolution. My resolution is 1920x1080 so mine would be (1920*1080)

4.Finishing up

a.Exit out of there, but it will say Save changes? press save

b.exit out of everything

c. and bam! have fun in all resolutions! but if it does not work, do this

d. go to your library and go to spore

e.right click it

f.go to properties

g.then go to local files, then "verify integrity of game files and it will reset the custom resolution you put so now your done, again

I changed, saved and it doesn't work :(
When i press botton (Properties) in the game it just crushes. Help...

all i have to do is change it to 1080p and then close the game and open it again and it will be 1080p

@banana you change the "seti resolutionTarget (1024 * 768)" setting to "seti resolutionTarget (1920 * 1080)" 🙂

well i have a problem with my screen saying that the it isnt on the right reselution and the screen is just black do you know how to fix it

I've got an even worse issue I changed the resolution settings in spore and it said to restart the game and then my pc monitor says "Mode not supported" so I do alt ESC to tab out of spore and steam isn't letting the settings I'm trying to change like this guide says so I need to re-download spore.
