REX is a puzzle-type board game for Windows, macOS and Linux that is played in the style of chess (players take turns moving one piece at a time across a limited grid, eliminating their enemy's pieces when they land on them). The rules are easy to learn and games can take anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes to play.

There is a computer opponent for solo play with two unique game modes and eight distinct levels of difficulty for each, or two people can play against each other by taking turns with the mouse. The computer opponent's AI was written by chess programming expert Marty Hirsch.

Played a version of this game and it's great! Really fun and quick but still with a lot of the strategy of full chess. Definitely recommend it!

Beautiful polish on a Greenlight game and good press about it already. Imagine how much could be done in Early Access.

I already got a chance to play the game. It's fun just for the reason that it's not as complex as chess, but still complex enough to require serious thinking on each move, especially since it comes with a real good AI opponent. You can play a game of REX in five minutes, which makes it great for some occasional brain teasing.

@*clever name*: Well, PC Gamer, and Macworld all liked it so, idk man ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ that's cool if it's not for you.

@Dracologist: yep! :) I really like Jonathan Barnbrook's fonts, plus I'm a big David Bowie fan and he was Bowie's album cover designer.

@wilco: fair enough. I like it, but a few people have told me that it's difficult to read, so if that's the reaction it's getting on here, I'll just change it. Thanks for the feedback!
