How to fix Geometry Dash not opening

Geometry Dash won't open?

If your border turns green briefly when trying to
open GD but nothing happens and it turns back to
blue again, then this guide is for you!

open GD but nothing happens and it turns back to
blue again, then this guide is for you!
Just follow the steps below, and hopefully
you will leave with a working game :)

This might not work for everyone, just a heads up.

Where to start

Finding the Steam File

Start by locating your GD steam folder, you can do that by either
right clicking the game on your steam library and selecting properties,
then press browse local files. Or you can find it by going through this way vvvvv
Computer > C: > Programs(86x) > Steam > SteamApps > Common > Geometry Dash

How to fix: Solution #1

Right click the game inside the folder and open up its Properties
Then select Compatibility, mark the box where it says
"Run this program in Compatibilitymode for:"
Open the list and select Windows 95. Apply and close the folder.
Now open up Geometry Dash and delete the first level on your levels list (create new might also work).
Close GD, and then proceed back to the same folder and open up the game's
Properties . Go to Compatibility and unmark the box you
marked earlier.

Congratulations!

your game should work
just like it used to now :)
