Basic Informations
N.B. This is a non-linear adventure/point&click game, that means you can complete it through various and different paths, even without exploring and seeing all the scenarios and cutscenes, although following a leading route gives the chance to experience the game in its entirety through cutscenes, dialogues and scattered clues to solve the minigames and riddles (avoiding so the racking of your brain, even though they are never too complex) and that's exactly the aim of this guide.

N.B. 2 Some "actions" or "objects" trigger the display of cutscene or dialogues or even consequent actions, but not all of them are necessary to the completion of the game, so you can choose to activate or not.

N.B. 3 Some dialogues, especially during the cutscenes, don't have subtitles or at least they are very quick and after the performed actions you can't rehearse them, so I made a transcription of some of them
HOW TO MOVE INSIDE THE GAME
Usually, the cursor inside the game is a WHITE ARROW, but when it changes its shape you can perform different actions:

  1. EYE = the object can be examined; usually it would give you description of it (displayed on top of the screen), but in some cases it's a way to interact with it (like take a closer look to the surrounding and perform a secondary action)
  2. RED ARROW = an action can be performed: take an object, interact with an object, start a dialogue
  3. CROSSED ARROWS (with a name below) = use it to move around the game: to change directions (left or right) or locations (town, estate, ect.)

Below the game-window there is the INVENTORY, it shows whenever you move the cursor on that area; objects can be "combined" or "used" inside this area. With a click of the LEFT button of the mouse you pick up a object (and use it in the scenario or with another object of the inventory), with a click of the RIGHT button of the mouse you can "examine" the object.
If you need an object from the inventory to perform an action in the game-scene, click the object with left button of the mouse, drag it to the spot needed to perform the action (if it's the right object it will wobble) and click on it.
Above the game-window, at the centre, it's the area where description of the objects examined is displayed; at the right corner, there is the button that leads to the MENU.
WHEN THE GAME IS LAUNCHED...
A cutscene will start giving you the first morsel of what would be the topic of game..the voiceover recounts of a witch living in an abandoned estate that through her voodoo arts summons unaware people to help her destroy the evil that haunts the surroundings...
After that, you have access to the MENU where you can choose to start a NEW GAME, or LOAD one or SAVE one or change the OPTIONS or even EXIT

The SAVE slots don't give informations about the locations when and where were saved so try to name them in a way that will easily remind you when and where they were made
THE FIRST STEP..
When you "awake", you find yourself in a unwell lit room, with the shutters closed and old southerly furnishing. In front of you there is a window, on your left a DOOR and right in front of you a TABLE. Giving a look at your inventory , you find yourself equipped with only a paper "MYSTIC CHART" (examining it, it displays strange drawings and numbers, but for now put it aside, you will use it later)



(I suggest heartily to examine every single object that gives you this possibility because the descriptions provided disclose a vivid eerie atmosphere that enhanced the experience of the game)

Now take a closer look at the TABLE: there is a JOURNAL. Reading the entry reveal what would possibly be your mission and hint on the why you are there:



You can try to open the DOOR on your left but is locked (for now ), so take a look around the room and then open the DOOR that is behind your back and go out of the room through the STAIRWAY.
OUTSIDE THE DARK ROOM
From the shape of the buildings is evident that you are in a southern city (Louisiana?) and looking at some posters it seems that today is Mardì Gras, but no one is around; nobody is celebrating this holiday nor the shops appear to be open...a ghost town?

From the TOWN ENTRANCE you can choose 3 different routes: to the Masion, up the Street, enter the Starway (from which you've just exited).

GO UP STREET (there is a Inn on your left "Le French Quarter" but is closed), then MOVE UP STREET where you can choose to get closer to the "House of Voodoo" on the left or MOVE UP STREET further.

Moving up the street, there is ENTER ALLEY and OUTSIDE DOOR of a building; choose ENTER ALLEY where a strange man with a top hat and a skulls necklace is daring you to play a game at his table:
<<Don't be afraid. Test your eyes. Step up to the table>>


<<Choose correctly with your eyes... Three times the key to see the prize... look again inside the shop... to find the fruit is in it's spot..>>

PLAY the game of 3 cups and WIN it 3 times, he will show you an object in his hand that you may need: an APPLE.

Now, exiting the ALLEY go BACK DOWN STREET and head to the "Voodoo House" SHOP (where you have a vast view of the street) and ENTER THE SHOP
VOODOO HOUSE
On the right, there is a CABINET: take a closer look at it; between the various items, on the left, on a pedestal there is the APPLE, take it
(N.B. if you enter the voodoo shop before the encounter with the mysterious man in the Alley, you will be informed that "these items should not be touched until you know what are you looking for").

On the left, near the staircase there is a TABLE, take a closer look at and a minigame will start:


<<"BOARD OF BLOODSTONES" Swap two stones to form a row.. Three or more for blood to flow.. When vial is full then board will show the eyes to open a place to...>> play the game swapping the tiles (all types) and when the red line on the left of board is complete, a message will appear: "The Secret lies behind the eyes" and a skull with VIOLET-BLUE LEFT and RED RIGHT EYES will show for a few seconds.
(You can play the game as many times as you want).

Now exit the shop, move up the street, head to OUTSIDE DOOR and ENTER DOOR
INSIDE THE BUILDING
Close to the shuttered door at the wall


there is a SIGN saying "NEW ORLEANS NOVELTY AND TOY CO." (so we are in New Orleans, after all!) and there is a paper note: look closer, and a cutscene starts: a serpent will slither out the hole in the wall

Let's read the paper: it's a NOTIFICATION:


Now ENTER HALL: there is a long aisle and at end of it there is one of the broken machine mentioned in the notification and it's a FORTUNE TELLER MACHINE!

this is a minigame where you have to set the right frequency clicking the left/right button of the mouse, but which one? Do you remember the MYSTIC CHART in your inventory?
Look at it now:


there are two types of numbers (ROMAN and CARDINAL) respectively referring to the CIRCUIT NUMBER and their RIGHT FREQUENCY

So the solution is:
  • IX (circuit 9) = 9 Mhz
  • III (circuit 3) = 389 Mhz
  • XI (circuit 11) = 56 Mhz
  • I (circuit 1) = 4492 Mhz
  • IV (circuit 4) = 227 Mhz
  • VII (circuit 7) = 2358 Mhz
  • V (circuit 5) = 333 Mhz
  • II (circuit 2) = 47 Mhz
  • VI (circuit 6) = 882 Mhz
  • X (circuit 10) = 772 Mhz
  • XII (circuit 12) = from ERR it should be now show SET

Go BACK, the red button of the fortune teller machine it's flickering, click on it and a NOTE will come out of the PANEL; take it, it says:


Exit the hall, exit the room, go back down street to the TOWN ENTRANCE (if you go back in the initial room where the game started and try the closed door..it will open now and it shows an empty closet..but at the flash of a lightning an half bloody flayed body will appear!) and go to the MASION, then ENTER THE GATE, FRONT GATE, ENTER HOUSE...
THE ESTATE
Now we are inside the infamous villa and the starting point is THE FOYER: taking a look around to the furnishing and paintings (some cutscenes will be enacted).

You can choose to explore the HALL, UPSTAIR or MUSIC ROOM.

Let's go to the HALL: there is a table at the centre of the scene; look closer; there is a JOURNAL, take it and examine it in your inventory: there are various mysterious entries:









From the HALL you could go to the STUDY or the DINING ROOM.

Let's take a look to the last one: the DINING ROOM. Here a long dining table occupies the majority of the scene, overwhelmed by a deep dark atmosphere when, at the flash of the lightning, the outlines of a mysterious woman appears...talk to her...


SHE: <<Can you feel the un-rested souls tonight?>>

(You have various questions, located below the window-game, that need an answer from her)

SOUL?
(She:) <<My mother has killed my pets.. and now they walk among us always. I can taste them stealing my breath>>

PETS?
(She:) <<A terrible spirit dwells here.. It has haunted my family for over 50 years. My late mother went to her grave searching for a solution to rid the evil spirit from this place.. Before my mother died, she demanded that I destroy everything associated with her work. I think she was afraid her notes would fall into incompetent hands, only to anger the darkness even further>>

MOTHER?
(She:) <<Through the years I have tried to make sense of my mother's notes, but could not; the secret of my mother went to her grave with. With my talents lying mostly in voodoo and witchcraft, I have been forced to summon others to this place, in an effort to help me solve this dark riddle>>

NOTES?
(She:) <<Though I did burn her journal, I could not bring myself to destroy everything. I knew that could seal my fate to live among this horrible evil forever. My mother explained that the "Servants" can see everything, so I was forced to hide and partially destroy some items in order to protect them from the eyes of evil>>

(If you exit the hall and then come back the female figure has disappeared for good, so pay attention now to what she says because you will not have a second chance to talk to her again)

From the DINING ROOM you can go to the KITCHEN or to the BALCONY.

Let's go straight to the KITCHEN: look around, on the central table there is a KNIFE, take it.
The SINK on your right can be opened and water will flow out.
On your left there is an OLD TELEPHONE (you can interact with it and get start to a cutscene) and you can get a look NEAR THE REFRIGERATOR: open the upper panel of the CUPBOARD where there is a SPIDERCIDE, take it.
Now look closer at the refrigerator, it will open showing inside a piece of CHEESE, take this too.
Get back to the centre of the scene and go straight to the PANTRY: here the dark is overwhelming but there is a lightbulb hanging from the ceiling; the examining shows it's dirty.

Look for the switch on your left, right under the shelf where there is a box of lemon dish-soap (when the cursor becomes red, you have found it) and click on it: the bulb will explode! So now you need a replacement because it's too dark to see something.

Exiting the pantry and right after the kitchen, go back to the HALL and this time straight to the STUDY: looking around, examine the TOP of the central DESK where there is an envelop addressed to "Muretta", a telephone and a MAP with strange drawings and pieces of TORN PAPER; examining the latter in your inventory start a jigsaw: when you finally solve it, a note will appear:


Now look at the DRAWERS: in the SECOND DRAWER there is LIGHT BULB (just what you need for the pantry!); in the THIRD DRAWER there is a MAGNIFY GLASS; at the BOTTOM DRAWER there is a FUSE. Take all these things, of course!

On your left there is a BOOKCASE, click at the TOP of it (when the cursor turns red) and a secret PASSAGE close to the painting on the right will be disclosed! Now you can choose to go to the PARLOR or venturing the secret PASSAGE: I daresay the last one!

Entering the PASSAGE on your left, high, there are pipes running through all the aisle, take a closer: there are strange EGGS attached, take them.

Now if you go straight ahead there is an hunching figure in the corner at the end of the shadowed corridor: talk to her:


SHE : <<I supposed my sister summoned you. Although you should not come here. You like the others are destined for decay admist the Servants that surround this estate>>

SISTER?
(She:) <<Don't be fooled by her beauty. She has many forms, none of which reveal anything, but she wants you to see>>

SERVANTS?
(She:) <<This estate is governed by shadows like creatures known only as the Servants of Darkness. They dwell within this swamp and surround the existence of all entities throughout this region>>

OTHERS?
(She:) <<She has used the dark arts to call you to this place. Her thoughts had already began to influence your actions. The summoning is only the beginning. Beware for your decisions are no longer entirely yours>>

WHY DID SHE SUMMON ME?
(She:) <<Perhaps she feels you can help? However she will never tell you the true story. Through the years I've seen others, like yourself, come here only to fail within the logic of this black world>>

(N.B. As for the previous encounter, with the mentioned sister, it seems, if you step back from her and visit again the dark corner, she will be no longer there)

On your right there is a STAIRWAY DOOR: look at the box on your right; it seems it's out of order and you can't interact with it.
THE BACKYARD
So now go back to the PANTRY: take the LIGHT BULB you recently found and drop it on the broken bulb; search for the switch, use it and the room will be enlightened.

Take a closer look to the chair near the door, there is a LIGHTER, take it. Search the COUNTER on your right, there is a MOUSETRAP, take that too.
If you try to open door, it says it's closed.

At this point, go back to DINNER ROOM; on your left there is the exit to the BALCONY; from there, go to the BACKYARD where you can choose three paths.
First, go the SIDE HOUSE, from here to the SHED: open it, there is a SLEDGEHAMMER, take it.

Come back to the BACKYARD and this time go for the DOOR in front of you: click on it, ENTER the door: on your right there is a BARREL, take the WRENCH on it.

There is also a door on your left, sealed by boards. Use the SLEDGEHAMMER on it and ENTER THE WALL
Look at the GENERATOR: the lever is stuck, so use the WRENCH on it and the generator will start working.

Now look at the your left, there is an ELECTRICAL BOX, open it: there is a SPIDER that prevents you to examine it. So use the SPIDERCIDE to eliminate the insect.

You see that something is missing from the box: a FUSE! Use the one you found in the drawer of the desk in the study. It seems the electricity is back somewhere.

Go back to the BACKYARD and this time take the path to the EASTYARD

From here take the path that leads to the GRAVEYARD:


this is a vast dead garden with a woman statue at the center of it; there is also a GRAVE next to it that gives you strange feelings.

Enter the GRAVEYARD: there are a CRYPT (but it's too dark and you can't explore it yet) and a path leading to the SWAMP.
THE SWAMPS
There are three paths:

1) the one on the right leads to the EAST SWAMP where there are dead trees;

2) the middle one leads to the WEST SWAMP where there is a TEMPLE/CRYPT:


entering it, you see a strange structure with pillars and fences: get a closer look to the GATEDOOR: it's a SKULL, the same skull of the swapping tiles game in the voodoo shop, do you remember the vision showing the skull with two different colours for the eyes: violet (left) and red (right)?
So click on the eyes to choose the right colour and the skull will open its mouth. There is a cylinder shaped hole in there...What did the entries in the book say? ..."You must feed the gatekeeper the symbolic food of the ancients"..."The staff will be his plate and the key to your entrance"... so we must find some cylinder shaped staff to "feed" the skull/gatekeeper..
But for now let's take the last path of the swamp that this time leads to...

3) SWAMP HOUSE: there is a shack in the middle of this swamp, take a closer look to it and ENTER THE HOUSE: there is a WOMAN on a rocking chair; talk to her:


SHE: <<Another summoned I see>>

SUMMONED?:
<<You can never destroy the evil and will only succeed in angering the darkness. Then I will have to live with your incompetence and the others before you>>

ANGERING THE DARKNESS?:
<<I have vowed not to get involved but I fear I must, for there will only be more summoned and an endless cycle that will haunt my grave for eternity>>

INVOLVED?:
<<I have learned to live with the presence that surrounds the swamp and the mansion. But I can start to sense it will not be long before it will become intolerable. Bring me the bones of Jaja. I will show you how to get rid of the evil>>

BONES?:
<<It is un-restful revenge that surrounds the mansion. The Doctor has killed too many in the name of science and now their souls have come back to revel the truth>>

Exit the dialog
(N:B this is one of the few dialogues you can listen as many times as you need, she would not disappear after you left her house)

Look around the room: there is a DESK on your right, look closer to the BOOK on top of it:


Now go back to the EASTYARD and this time take the way to the BACKDOOR that leads to the CAGE ROOM and go inside.

The room is full of empty cages but there is one signalled as OPENED CAGE on the right shelf, look inside it and a cutscene will start.

Getting a closer look, you find an HAIR but you can't take it yet because it requires something sterile to put in.
BACK TO THE MANSION
Go back inside the MASION, straight to the FOYER and from there, go the MUSIC ROOM: there are a PIANO on your right and a CHESSTABLE on your left

Take a closer look to the latter: click on the BOARD and then on the DRAWER: it will open and there is a paper inside, but it's glued so you can't pick up:


(Jot it down, it will come in handy later)

Now look at the STOOL of the PIANO and click on it, there is a SHEET MUSIC inside, take it.

After that, pick it from your inventory and USE it on the PIANO. Listen to the female VOICE: <<Meet me UPSTARIS, I have a GIFT for you>>

So, go UPSTAIRS, there is a woman at the end of the aisle, she will give you a strange box with eyes (the same one from the journal)

<<Take this box, it will guide your way into my dream>>

Guide? Dream? ..Could be really possible to "enter" a dream? How?...uhmm...
Click on the table on the right and a cutscene will start.


UPSTAIRS
From UPSTAIRS, you can visit many locations:


1) ATTIC STAIRS(first entrance on the right): where you can find a LANTERN on a chair, pick it up, and a CHEST, locked for now.

2) BEDROOM (on the left): Examine the room: look at the DRESSER; then to the BOTTOM DRAWER: there is a BOX! Try to take it and a cutscene will start (a child and especially a woman on a rockingchair! Did we meet her, perhaps?). So, you found a BOX OF ASHES labelled "Muretta 1887 - 1993" but it can't be opened!

3) BEDROOM (on the right): examining the room, you see a CHAIR on the left with a DOLL, inspect it and it will break! What have we done?! Nevertheless look closer and retrive a SILVER KEY.

Also, there is a RUG on the floor: examine it and GO DOWN: here, hidden behind a barrel there is a PAINTING, take it.




There is, also a HOLE MOUSE: so combine CHEESE and MOUSE TRAP in your inventory and put them in front of the HOLE (you will come back later to see if it worked). Exit the bedroom.

4) BATHROOM (on the left): There is a SINK: open it and water will start running. Now look at the BATHTUBE: there is a skeleton! Clik on it and a cutscene will start.

5) SECOND BEDROOM (on the right): There is a DRESSER on the right; look closer and here is a BOX: open it and you'll find TORN POEM...

Click on it in your inventory to reassemble it: it's a RIDDLE about a RING..uhmmm

From this room you have access to a BATHROOM: enter it. There is a JUG: try to pick it up and a cutscene will start...now we have a problem to solve..how to get rid of the snake?..but, maybe, the action performed in the other BEDROOM will come in handy..in a while. For now, go back to the HALLWAY and take..

6) SOUTH HALL:
From here you can choose to go WEST HALL (on the right) or EAST HALL (on the left)
6.a) WEST HALL:
there is a door, but the moment you try to open it a cutscene will start (a warning to not open this door never ever!) Will we be able to see what is hidden behind it?...Maybe... in the meanwhile, continue the exploraition of the upper floors and go to..

6.b) EAST HALL:

In front of you, there is the PAINTING of a "WOMAN"..look at it.


Now remember the riddle found in the MUSIC ROOM? about PEARLS?


so counting from LEFT to RIGHT (your left and right), push in sequence these pearls: 3, 5, 2, 4, 1. The painting will open revealing an ELIXIR: take it.

On the left side, there is a ROOM: enter it. there is a LITTLE TABLE; click on it and take a closer look: it's a PAINTING about a "ghostly woman" and the author named it "Mira"

Now, click on the PAINTBRUSH laying oblique and take it.

Exit the room and take, on your right, the DOORWAY, then WALK UPSTAIRS: here is a room with a central altar and a baroque bed; there are also a MIRROR and a PAINTING EASEL.


Examine NEAR PAN, look closer and you find a DEAD CROW in a BOWL WITH BLOOD.
BOX OF ASHES
Trace back your steps and go the FOYER: a cutscene will start: a DOLL will fall down the stairs; pick it up!


You hear a telephone ringing (the trigger of this call is the retrieving of the BOX found in the bedroom!), you can asnwer both from the STUDY or the KITCHEN, I suggest the one from the STUDY! So go there, and pick up the receiver and a voice will tell you that :
<<Ashes to ashes and dust to dust. You can't open it! Believe me I've tried. It's completely sealed. I think there is a key inside among the ashes. I saw the Doctor swallow it right before she died.. I think she want to be sure it couldn't be...(....)... Be careful or your fate may end like mine!>>

Who was at the phone? Another summoned one? What was he referring to? The box of ashes, perhaps? But how could he know that we have it?... uhmm.. now, remember the "vision" showed just before taking the BOX...could she be the Lady of the Swamp? maybe she knows how to open it and get this key the voice was talking of...

So, exit the STUDY, go to the DINING ROOM, BALCONY, BACKYARD, EASTYARD, GRAVEYARD ..Look, there is a crow perched on the shoulder of statue now... uhmm, you continue to SWAMP, SWAMP HOUSE: use the BOX OF ASHES with the WOMAN... she will tell you..

<<It was FIRE that made that bowels stick into the box. Perhaps it is FIRE that would give them out>>

Fire, eh?? Interesting! Where do we have access to fire? In the house?

So got back to the MASION, there is a room that we haven't visited yet: it's THE PARLOR, you can enter it from the STUDY or the MUSIC ROOM; since we are coming back from the swamp, take the way through the STUDY.

There it is! A FIREPLACE with a roaring FIRE!


So use the BOX OF ASHES with FIRE and after a custcene, take the OLD KEY within the remains of the box!

We found it! But why it was so important? And what is it kept locked that requires a key so well hidden? ..uhmm.. THE CHEST in the ATTIC!

Go UPSTAIRS, take ATTIC STAIRS, then ATTIC and use the OLD KEY with CHEST. Yes, it's opened now and inside there is ..the STAFF


Remember what the book says about this STAFF?


Click on it and choose the correct sequence of symbols

While UPSTAIRS, why don't we take a look at that trap we set earlier?

Go back to UPSTAIRS, take the BEDROOM on the right, GO DOWN and collect a "DEAD RAT" from the mousetrap.

Now go to the SECOND BEDROOM on the right, go to the BATHROOM and use the DEAD RAT with the SNAKE. Satisfied, it will slither away and we can take the JUG!
LE FRENCH QUARTER INN
Since we have a JUG, presumebly we have to fill with something..water, perhaps?... As you remember there is a SINK both in the BATHROOM on the left UPSTAIRS or in the KITCHEN, I suggest we go DOWNSTAIRS.

Go to the KITCHEN, use the SINK and then use JUG with SINK: we have a JUG WITH WATER.

Look around the kitchen: something has changed! There is a MESSAGGE on the CHALKBOARD that wasn't there before. It says:

(The trigger of this discovery is the picking up of the jug)

Now, take a look at the REFRIGERATOR: open it! And here you find a ...SEVERED HAND! Nice! Try to pick that up and......

You wake up inside the FRENCH QUARTER INN (the HOTEL that we weren't able to enter at the beginning of the town exploration), in the lobby precisely.


Look around, then take the stair on your left and go to the SECOND FLOOR and enter the ROOM 204.
Look at the desk, there is a DIARY: read the entries:


Now we know by whom was owned that severed hand we found in the refrigerator (also that's what the riddle of the fortune teller machine referred to): he was the previous summoned but the Servant had found him before he could accomplish his mission; we also discovered that there is a LABORATORY we have to find and we finally know that one of our primary goal is to recover THIS WORD that Mira had hidden in her dream: to access it we need a painting, a mirror and some blood ....uhmmm...

Go back down and outisde the INN; take UP THE STREET, where a cutscene plays, then go to ENTER THE ALLEY (on your left, watching the NEW ORLEANS TOY STORE); there is a sort of altar adjacent to the wall and at the flash of the ligthing a boy dressed in a red Mardì Gras Mask tells you:

<<Paint your dream to come alive... Reflect its surface to arrive... Inside your dream before its face... A drop of blood to leave this place>>

So all the clues point to the painting we have in the inventory, so let's give it a closer look:
turn it to watch the back and there, on the bottom corner there is a label


but it can't be examined because the writing is too small: in the inventory pick the MAGNIFY GLASS and use it on the label. It says:

THE BASEMENT
Go back to the INN and this time search of the red spot on the elevator to call it: then click "1" and go to the CAVE: enter the CRACKED WALL:


look around there is a big furnace and on crossbeam there is a paper: read it..


Uhmmm..a temple rebuilt in this Estate! Could be the one we saw in the SWAMP?

Now look closer at the FURNACE and there!, it's DR. MURETTA'S JOURNAL: read it!


Now we know how to enter the laboratory (scheme of the jumpers), how comes this place to be haunted and why; also, we discover the purpose of being summoned and what we are facing (Jaja enraged spirit) and, maybe, how to dispel this curse..

Take the STAIRS on your left and click on the DOOR: we are in the PANTRY of the MASION (the door that was locked from the kitchen side), this is a direct route between KITCHEN and FRENCH QUARTER INN
MIRA'S DREAM
There is lot to do, so first, straight to MIRA'S ROOM (the one in the EAST HALL), through the KITCHEN, DINING ROOM, HALL, FOYER, UPSTAIRS, EAST HALL, DOORWAY, WALK UPSTAIRS and here we are: Mira's Bedroom.

Remembering all the clues given: we need BLOOD, so to the ALTAR, NEAR PAN, and from inventory use the PAINTBRUSH with the BOWL of BLOOD.

After that, use the PAINTING with the EASEL and then the now blooded PAINTBRUSH on the PAINTING
Rememeber the entries of the journal about the maze, words and box of eyes, here come all to fruition


(N.B. Do no get lost! You can't save the game while you are in the "dream world"! So do it, before entering it! Also, you can exit the DREAM WORLD by pressing SPACE... one last thing, you can "die" inside that world: meaning, you will "wake up" outside the MIRROR)

Now, ENTER THE MIRROR and you will be in the MAZE: as promised the BOX OF EYES wil help you showing the map on the bottom left corner in a 3D perspective:

Your goal is to find a specific WORD (and remember it, so you can use it when it is needed) and there are 3 PLACES in which you can find it.
The route I followed: take the route following the crates on the left and a chair on the right, click on walls that show the red marks of blood ( it means they are secret passagges that can be opened) you arrive in a vast open space with two pillars and a coffin close to them. Look at one of the pillars, there is a SCROLL attached to it: it's the WORD you have to remember!

Now, press SPACE on your keyboard and exit the DREAM WORLD
DOCTOR MURETTA'S LABORATORY
It seems all goes around the secret laboratory of Doc Muretta and we must find it, but where could it be?...Uhmm...of course! The electrical box in the cellar behind the secret door of the STUDY must be the key to open it (as both the journal of the Doctor and the Maimed Man's one suggested)...

Back Downstairs, straight to the STUDY, SECRET PASSAGGE, STAIRWAY DOWN: look at the box on the right ...Somehing has changed! Of course, the generator! There is electricity, so now it can be used.


This is a minigame you must solve using the JUMPERS to connect the chips and bypass the system:

Following the instructions you gain access to the LABORATORY:

Look closer to the LAB TABLE:

There is an EMPTY SIRINGE, take it; now look at PC: you need to ENTER PASSWORD

..which could it be?...uhmm.. Do you remember the Torn Poem?
aaah-ah! Here it is GRAVE mirrored, so EVARG is the password!
Type on your keyboard the word and don't forget to use capslock!


We have gained access to the content of Doc Muretta's PC and relative files; let's read the FOLDERS


Now, we know what the Doc had attempted to do and the various experiments he had conducted and the result he achieved with DNA ENRICHED EMBRYO..maybe this would turn out to be useful somehow...

we must find this SAFE!

Now go in the TANK ROOM:

Look at the central TANK: it's labelled CREATURE "732"
Go to the DOOR and use the SILVER KEY from your inventory to open it:

Look closer at the LARGE TABLE: there is a TEST TUBE; take it
Look at the SAFE and using the instructions previously founded, open it (remember to avoid passing by the "zero number"): there is a SCROLL, take it. It says:

There is a MICROSCOPE (leave it for later)

Now go to the DOORWAY and GO DOWN STAIRS
There are a DEEP PIT and a BROKEN ELEVATOR: minigame with GEARS (when positioning a GEAR you hear the sound of "placing", that's the right spot); once completed the game, the elevator lifts and reveles a macabre scene:

Look closer and take the HEAD SKULLS

Do you remember the object in the cage room that we couldn't take because a sterilized receptacle was required?

Retrace your steps and go the BACKYARD, EAST YARD, BACK DOOR, CAGE ROOM and use the TEST TUBE on the HAIR, now you can take it!

So many informations and stuff we have gatheres but also so many questions that need answers that could help us procede in the right direction..uhmm..maybe, it's time we pay another visit to the SWAMP LADY
SWAMP LADY PART. 2
Go back to the SWAMP HOUSE and meet again the WOMAN on the rockingchair: click on her to start a NEW DIALOUGE:

STRANGE HAIR?
(She): <<The hair is too old and useless to act the necessary essence for the ritual>>

DNA ENRICHED EMBRYO?
(She): <<I know very little of the science you speak - but perhaps it would be enough?>>

THE RITUAL?
(She): <<Place the essence below Jaja first, then the elixir, the Heart of darkness, the golden flower and, last, add the crashed crow bones>>

WHERE TO FIND THE INGREDIENTS?
(She): <<I'm afraid I cannot be of help with that. I know the girl was required to hide some of items from the Servants>>

Until now, we have only the ELIXIR in our hand! Maybe, using the formula of Doc Muretta we can extract some useful ESSENCE from the HAIR recently found; but what about the other ingredients? Where could they be?...uhmm... Do you remember the entries from the book of the SWAMP LADY?


What if we already have this HEART?

Go in your inventory, select the KNIFE and use it on the APPLE! Aaah-ah! Here it is! The HEART of DARKNESS!


What about the crow bones? Where could we find them? ..Uhmm... Graveyard?

Go back to the GRAVEYARD...look at the woman statue..the crow!!! and the "strange feeling" given from that grave close to the momunent!

Use SHOVEL with GRAVE; look INSIDE GRAVE, there is a RING a GREEN RING!

Take it and examine it in your inventory! It seems the symbols can be turned..uhm..what would it be the right combination?

What about the poem found in the casket?
Following the instructions, click on the symbols in THIS ORDER:
  1. Black Star
  2. Bright Heart
  3. Bright Crescent Moon
  4. Dark Square
  5. Dark Triangle

Here, they are: the crushed crow bones! the third element is in our hand!

What about the YELLOW FLOWER? ..uhmm... Maybe in a GREEN ROOM? but where?..

Go back to the MASION through the BALCONY and the DINING ROOM. Straight to the HALL , FOYER and the MUSIC ROOM and ...there it is: the way to the GREEN ROOM...
GREEN ROOM
Look around:

on a shelf near the fountain there is a POT; click on it and it says that "the soil is dry", so use the JUG WITH WATER with the POT; a cutscene will start.

The process can take some times so exit the GREEN ROOM and...something happens a creature from the shadow tries to assualt you but you manage to escape..unfortunately, the Servant takes from you the DOLL you found in the foyer..Nevermind..Time is essential and there is lot to do yet...

Go back to the LABORATORY, TANK, DOOR, ROOM and remembering the notes from the UNTITLED FILE (about ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL and DNA), go to the MICROSCOPE
and
follow those instructions:
  1. use SYRINGE with the solution labelled ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL
  2. use again the SYRINGE with the EMBRYOS
  3. place the resulted combination on the SLIDE and put it in the MICROSCOPE
  4. now use the SYRINGE with the TEST TUBE in your in your inventory
  5. use the SYRINGE again to inject the HAIR in the EMBRYO placed on the MICROSCOPE
  6. use another time the SYRINGE on the mixture and..
finally we have SYRINGE filled with sample of DNA EMBRYO that is the ESSENCE we were looking for..
Go back to the GREEN ROOM and see if the flower has blossomed...Yes, here it is
take it! The last ingredient is in our hands!

Time to "feed" the "gatekeeper" with the STAFF found in the "attic chest"!

Go to the WEST SWAMP, TEMPLE, use the STAFF (set with the correct sequence of symbols) with the hole in the skull mouth.... the gate will open... look closer.. there is an indentation on the floor... .there were entries about it...
so place the HEAD SKULLS on the floor, then put the EGGS inside the HEAD SKULLS...
a pillar surrounded by electricity will rise...

"a mortal touch is istant death..deadly words from cryptic scroll.."...uhmm...could be the scroll in the safe?
Type on your keyboard the words of the scroll..."OBJECTA MISTO JAKA"
and take the MEDALLION:

We are ready to perform the ritual...so straight to the CRYPT at the entrance graveyard..
THE RITUAL
We are outside the CRYPT but we can't enter it because it says "it's too dark"...
use the LIGHTER with the LANTERN in your inventory and consequentely use the now LIT LANTERN with the CRYPT...enter...

GO DOWN, click on the seal on the DOOR..


there is an ODD SHAPED SPIDER GROOVE; use the MEDALLION on it...

the door will open..enter..

Finally, we meet JAJA or at least what is left of her...

but we can't get closer because of the DEEP CHASM...

Type on your keyboard the word found in the MAZE (Mira's dreamworld): "PLAECTA"

and a PLANK will slide giving us the possibility to approach JAJA and look closer...

There is a small bowl at the base..put in it the INGREDIENTS for the RITUAL following the instrcutions given by the SWAMP LADY:

  1. ESSENCE (DNA SYRINGE)
  2. ELIXIR
  3. HEART OF DARKNESS (APPLE)
  4. GOLDEN FLOWER (STRANGE FLOWER)
  5. BONES CROW (GREEN RING)

...a cutscene will start....
