Awesomenauts Nibbs Beginner to Pro Guide [CONTEST]

Nibbs can be a tough class to play but powerful in the right hands. Not only can she be powerful, but also really fun to play as!

"Nibbs is a dragon warrior in service to the Sisterhood of Coba. This demonic group was bound to the Omicron dimension who, as soon as the Starstorm ripped a hole in the continuum, started an invasion of conquest.
Right after going through the portal, Nibbs's ship landed on the space station. Scouting around, she mistook Gnaw's tail for a juicy piece of fruit. After he was bitten, the startled Gnaw led her right back to the Awesomenauts who managed to convince her to stay with a wide variety of exotic treats."

Build

First the build. It HEAVYLY depends on the enermy team really. If they have a lot of damaging Nauts like Gnaw and Leon you want to follow this build closer. However, if they have Nauts like Voltar and Yuri I recomend getting damage sooner to get you that early Solar to compleate the build sooner. It may look strange at first with all the upgrades being spread out like this and having damage on your claws being one of the last things you buy but this build relys on suddenly bursting the enermy down with Fire Breath into Orb of Omicron. Slowly getting stuff like health regen and sneakers along the way to help keep up with the enermys damage nauts. You can buy them sooner however if you feel you are dying a lot. You honestly dont need claws if you are landing your Fire and Orb consistantly.

How to Play As Her

Edit: Forgot to mention about how you can cancil your Fire Breath by using Orb. Another reason why you should save it unless you need to use it as part of the combo or to finish off an escaping foe.

Tips on Items

I personally like to pick up this item first as Nibbs struggles early game to get much done and survive herself as Fire Breath leaves her in difficult situations. Medican is another option but this one encourages lane pushing early as Nibbs can be quite weak to begin with without her damage upgrades. Getting that extra regen early on is a life saver. However, if you feel you are doing alright without it, you can drop it for Dragon Speaker Idol or Demonic Animal Neckless.

Although if you do choose to go for these instead, don't pick them up until the end and focus on upgrading Dragon Breath.
Another one you can consider dropping but it is really good for chasing down those annoying hard to catch characters or setting up perfectly for a Dragons Breath. If you feel it's not doing much drop it for anything else.

Most importantly, Dragons Breath. The first two are a must have. They help Nibbs deal so much more damage. Range for if you are new to her as it can be a pain to aim. Drop it if you feel it's not helping you much and instead go for Chocolate Monster Egg to help last in brawls. Get these as soon as you feel confident you won't die the instant you get into Dragon Breath stance.

This is a dive build but some people will disagree which is fine and I recomend going with whatever works best for you. This build has served me well and is quite all round good at surving early game and beasting it late game.

Practice!!!

She takes a while to master and is one of the harder characters to play as of this guide. Just remember to try and have fun as at the end of the day. That's what's most important.

That's my vision of Nibbs' gameplay. Maybe Etarnal Flame is better for the beginners, I don't know. but it does not work well in 1-2 leagues (Nibbs isn't even strong in 1st league if you play solo, imo).

Thanks for all the really helpful feedback. I did have to rush this as it was getting late and were quite a few things I missed. (Kevin the Orphan Crippler) I agree with the shield being more useful then the range but thought for beginners it was a safer pick and ensured they could pull the combo off more easily. (Morrowsaw) You're very right and I should of just named it for beginners. I had to rush this towards the end and missed out quite a few important tricks. If I could I would rename the title but it won't let me now... ([PB] RazOOr \m/) For this burst build I felt it really helps and has often been when finishes off a enermy. It can also keep a lane clear for a minute as it lasts a bit after the flame goes. Reason I said Cards was because it regens faster and encourages bot kills in the beginning. Thanks for the helpful feedback and will take more care with the next guide while still making needed changes to this one. :D

Etarnal Flame is too overrated and completely is not a musthave. It's way better to buy Chocolate Monster Egg or even Darkenstone (especially if you play with Blue And Orange Berries). The second thing I wanted to say is that you should never buy Mystery Tarot Cards first, Med-i'-can is significantly better in case if you need more regen at the beginning.

This is a very basic guide and barely covers the depth this character has with things like Fire cancelling via orb, or how when you teleport you retain movement allowing for very advanced manuvers. I can understand this for beginners, but not for pros.

I don't particurally agree 100% with this guide, but it seems decent enough for beginners. The shield imo is a bit more useful than the range. But there's a situation for everything. Also, if you're running Berries, wouldn't Darkenstone be a better investment damage wise?
