MISSION 01 - ALPHA BASE
First mission is the Alpha Base - this is a quite easy mission, but there might be some problems for the beginners with Covenant turrets that are very good against your Warthogs. But for the second Covenant turret, there is an exploit place where your Forge's Warthog can attack it without being hit. The bonus objectives/skulls/black boxes are:
- Free all of the 4 trapped Marines/Warthogs
- Kill 100 Grunts (very hard to do on Easy Difficulty) to get the Skull near last Marines to free.
- Ram 50 Grunts with Warthogs to get the achievement (Buff/debuff skulls are needed for this objective)
MISSION 02 - RELIC APPROACH
Relic Approach is the mission that gave me a lot of troubles to have it finished on Legendary difficulty and Gold medal at the same time. With wrong strategy, you will have a lot of casualties + you will be stopped by the Covenant near the force shield. In result, your combat and time bonuses will be too low to reach the 70000 points bar. Except Mission 14, it's the only mission that might be very problematic to get the enough score which grants the Gold Medal. Approach the second Covenant base from the west, do not let the Hunters destroy your tanks and Warthogs. You need the 3rd Tech Level to upgrade Scorpions to use Canister Shells, after it you may want to sell the Reactor. Keep the casualties at minimum and use your time wisely, it's the key to get the Gold here. And don't forget to pick up the Black Box near the Refinery + Skull near your main base after killing 20 Jackals.
MISSION 03 - RELIC INTERIOR
Relic Interior is probably one of the fastest and easiest missions to complete on any difficulty. You are given two Grizzly Tanks, that are supposed to be superior to Scorpion Tanks. The trick is, toe to toe Power Turret with Canister Shells usage, Scorpion Tank wins because Grizzly's Cannister shell has more spread. Thus, use it's Canister Shell a lot at enemy infantry, mostly against Hunters. Hunters are the worst nightmare for any vehicle - they are very resilient and their damage output is outstanding. The bonus objective to get the skull is to destroy 45 Hunters - their only weakness is their back. Hunters can't block incoming tank projectile when they are back to the player - worth to know, because their shields are also a problem.
MISSION 04 - ARCADIA CITY
ARCADIA CITY WILL GIVE YOU TONS OF NIGHTMARES - this is by far the hardest, the most unforgiving mission in whole game. First, you start from scratch and the Covenant are already fully upgraded. Second, this mission is pure randomness but expect a big whooping of you and civilian transports. Third, this mission be completely random - your Spartans might do stupid moves, transports will be eaten by 4 Locusts at once etc. etc. But to get the Gold with picking up everything, you need to micro a lot and have big combat bonus. Try to not lose as many units as possible, it's hard to rebuild them in this mission. Once Vampires are in sight, pull of your Hornets, in case of Banshees pull of Forge from their sight. Banshees are by far your worst nightmare, three of them might kill the transport. Building a second base give you 500 points, while rescuing 1000 Civilians are worth 1500 points. Sacrificing one transport is a good idea, remember that rescuing all 2 of them doesn't grant any bonuses. The bonus objective is to kill 50 Elites.
MISSION 05 - ARCADIA OUTSKIRTS
Arcadia Outskirts might be really problematic, but with few simple tricks it can be done very easily. First off, you don't go along the main road, take the path where is the possibility to make a second base. Secondly, Douglas is by far the most blind Spartan but his damage is huge, especially against buildings - send him to take out Mega Turret. All buildings which are in state of buildup, are much more fragile - MAC Blast will take half health from Mega Turret in that state. During first 20 minutes all you have to do is to defend. Destroying the base before, won't finish it because mission is programmed to end after Spartan's arrival. This mission looks very tough and unforgiving, but it's really easy after learning few things about the AI behaviour. The bonus objective is to destroy 5 Wraiths.
MISSION 06 - DOME OF LIGHT
Dome of Light is a fairly easy to get Gold on Legendary, all you have to do is to remember some Covenant surprises. This mission isn't so breathtaking as previous two, just use your units wisely. The Covenant use only Banshees here with some ground units dropped by their transports. It is highly advised to use fully upgraded Wolverines here - their firepower is extremely high. Wolverines are also very resilient, fully upgraded they can withstand a lot of punch. There are several ways to finish this mission, but I mostly go with Scorpion Tanks. Their firepower and armor together with Spartans aboard are no match for Covenant. Just remember some triggers and this mission will be done very easily. The bonus objective is to destroy 50 Banshees.
MISSION 07 - SCARAB
Mission with the Scarab can be either very hard or extremely easy. It all depends of your choices. If you move units carelessly, Scarab's search light will lock on your units frequently. Then, you will lose of units because of lack of micromanagement. Remember, if you keep losing units to it's beam, Scarab gets more and more aggressive. In the result, it destroys all the walls randomly and then your base will get destroyed. There are few ways to complete this mission, for example choosing Warthogs. But I prefer Scorpions because their movement is much less chaotic and they have a lot of armor + their firepower is higher, also Warthogs keep to miss their targets a lot. When Scarab is nearly destroyed, Covenants send a lot of units at your base so be prepared with MAC Blast or some units. This mission might be nervous for beginner, but it's possible to have zero casualties.
MISSION 08 - ANDERS' SIGNAL
Anders' Signal is another fairly easy mission, basically it can be done with just Spartans without any casualties involved. At the beginning, use the carpet bombing at the same 4 Grunt Squads as I did. Do not use the skull with exploding units at any cost. It will make this mission surely a failure because exploding Flood structures might destroy the Elephant. It can be done extremely quick if you want to ignore skulls, black boxes and so, but you will need to kill 750 Flood infections. This might be quite tiresome and long objective, just try to nod destroy Flood Dens. It's hard to fail this mission, just don't use the exploding skull and try to watch at Elephant's health (I was close to fail here).
MISSION 09 - THE FLOOD
The Flood... All you have to do in this mission is to get Hornets. They are basically the best option because of their speed - if you micro them, you can also dodge Flood Launcher's projectiles. Going ground might be taking too much time, also Skull is in place unreachable for them. You have to build your economy, get to the 4th tech level and then train Hornets. If you want to finish this mission as fast as possible here is a small guide. Build your Reactor first and train one Warthog - then build Supply Pads. Send Warthog immediately to the Spartans, after it, place them west to the Gravemind. There is one Flood Launcher that can be destroyed easily. There, your Spartans will be mostly out of range for Flood units and Launchers. It's doable on Legendary but it's very hard, you can finish the mission in less than 5 minutes. The bonus objective is to destroy 20 Flood Stalks.
MISSION 10 - SHIELD WORLD
Shield World is really painful mission to do on Legendary, while on Heroic and less it's a cakewalk. Flood Launchers and Flood Swarm here are your biggest threat, in their masses they are dangerous. The worst problem is the fact that Launchers have got the highground and Swarms are only vulnerable to Cryo Bomb. As for Cryo Bomb, its kills aren't taken into account of the Bonus Objective to kill 350 Flood Swarms. The beginning and training an army is a quite slow task, but don't rush with helping the Alpha Platoon. You will get massacred because the path is very heavily guarded and mass casualites are guaranteed. There are also two Omni Reactors, one of them is near you, the second is near northeast Pylon, just clear the path for it. And don't forget that for picking up the skull, you need a flying unit.
MISSION 11 - CLEANSING
Cleansing can be bugged - it's quite rare but after certain time Sentinels won't respawn before reaching the bonus objective. This mission is fairly tough at the beginning, just try to save as many units and airlocks as possible. The main problem comes from the south of the map, basically Flood there is to keep you distracted. After destroying it, just focus on destroying the Sentinels. The Flood won't be anymore a big problem but Sentinels, of course. Their EMP cannon and damage in groups can be harsh. Fully upgraded Wolverines with Spartans might be your best friend here. Keep casualties at minimum, and the Gold is yours.
MISSION 12 - REPAIRS
Repairs is a very fast mission on lower difficulties, it can be done in less than 3 minutes. Basically you just have to pump Cyclopses at your Core and that's the whole philosophy. On Legendary, it gets however a bit tough, your Hawks have to be everywhere. The easiest thing is just to eliminate the transports, but they are coming from all the sides. Hawks + Wolverines is a very useful combination in Repairs. Hawks are great at hunting down the Covenant troops at your deck, especially the Hunters and Locusts. Wolverines are beasts against Banshees and transports, they will save your efforts a lot. Keep building units and turrets, clear the skies and the mission is yours. And don't forget about picking up the Black Box and Skull.
MISSION 13 - BEACHHEAD
Beachhead is by far the longest mission in this game. We have to lockdown the area and build 4 bases. The only annoying problem in this mission, are Banshees, tons of them. They will annoy you during the whole mission if you don't destroy 3 Summits. They are located in upper right corner of map and two of them are near the top base. Destroying them, mean a lot of less problems. There is also a Scarab to capture just north to your first base, eliminate Flood tentacles around it and you can capture it with a Spartan. The mission is fairly easy, it just takes a lot of time to destroy 10 Flood Bombers and Covenant forces. Watch out for your Scarab tho, it's a super unit but can be easily overwhelmed by multiple Hunters and Banshees.
MISSION 14 - REACTOR
The Reactor is unfortunately the only mission where I can't pick up the skull. On Legendary difficulty it's bugged, the respawn rate for 20 Vampires is extremely slow. Thus, if you want to wait for them, there will be no chance to get the Gold Medal on Legendary difficulty. The only chance is to reach 30000+ with finishing the mission under 15 minutes with almost no casualties. With such strategy, you will get 32000 points, granting you the Gold medal with some luck. As the mission begins, rush your Spartans straight to the first Covenant base and micro them. With some micro, you will destroy it without problems but you must do it quickly. Tech up and upgrade your Elephant to the maximum, then make a straight run to the Apex site. Cover the Reactor with the units around it, and the mission under 15 minutes is done.
MISSION 15 - ESCAPE
Escape is final to the Halo Wars campaign, and it's quite easy mission to be honest. It is the only mission in the campaign where we have access to all Support Powers and ODSTs + Hawks at the same time. Unfortunately we don't have an access to buildable Grizzlies in the campaign, but they won't be needed so much in this mission. On easier difficulties, you can use Pelicans at the beginning to grab the Black Box to the north, but on Legendary it's quite risky to lose all 3 Spartans at the beginning. You can also drop the Scarabs with opening the doors (advisable, I didn't do it because Hawks). Just as the mission begins, capture 3 Forerunner Supply Pads and capture the base to the west of you. Defend both bases, build a lot of Hawks with some upgrades like 4xMAC Blast, clear the map from everything. Once you destroy 3 Scarabs (they are timed), you can pick up the skull at the north and open all Forerunner Portal Doors. That's all, hope my guide is useful, and see you in Halo Wars 2 :).

So, in a skirmish battle, i had fully upgraded my mac-blast ability (also known as nukage) and i looked for a target and had found an enemy scarab that was heading in the direction of a friendly base, i then proceeded to use all 4 mac-blast rounds to kill it and was greeted by a crater from what was left of the thing.
