This guide shows you how to use a hidden, broken achievement that appears as transparent to feature in your "Achievement Showcase". It's great for spacing.

Some examples:

Step 1
To begin, we need a program called SAM (Steam Achievement Manager). {LINK REMOVED}.
Step 2
Once you get SAM setup on your computer, open it up and search for the app ID "480".

Click "Add Game". You should see Spacewar.

Double click Spacewar and you'll be taken to it's achievement page. Click the unlock icon and then click "Store" in the upper right corner of the window.

This will give you the achievement you need for this guide. Exit SAM.
Step 3
Now go into a browser and edit your profile. Find your achievement showcase and right click the achievement you want to have transparent.

Click "Inspect Elements".
Step 4
Once "Inspect Elements" opens, It'll show something like this:

The two lines below the highlighted portion are what we need. Go down down to the first value and change the number to: 480

Now change the value below it to: anonymous_element_1

Step 5
Exit "Inspect Elements" after you've changed the two values and click "Save Changes" on your Steam profile. Once you refresh, the achievement you used "Inspect Elements" on will appear transparent.

Is it possible to make achievements transparent in rare achievements showcase?

@elf, yes it does. Some users who have used SAM to gain achievements in a VAC protected game such as Team Fortress 2 have received VAC bans, google this for more information and examples.

Also, achievement tracking sites such as astats will sometimes automatically mark your profile as cheater on their end when they detect broken achievements impossibly gained / achievements gained in the wrong order / achievements gained all at the same time / etc.

Personally I don't recommend using SAM. You can install Spacewar legitimately by "Running" this command:

This won't let you gain all the Spacewar achievements though, since one of them is broken:

So no one can legitimately 100% Spacewar, if they have they used something like SAM.
