"More anime-to-realism, this one from the quite insanely good Persona 5. Inspired by the game's opening story, I decided to make a sort of "what if"-series, of all the Phantom Thieves getting captured (after some arrest-resisting, of course) and having their mugshots taken. Since there are, of course, no realistic depictions of any of the characters, this project has both opportunities and difficulties - opportunities because I can be somewhat free in actual facial details, difficulties because I can't use any models or references. So this series will have faces drawn up without any models whatsoever!

First up is the Protagonist, "Joker" (also affectionally called 'Frizzy Hair'). I used him as the first mugshot not just because he's the protagonist, but also because his expression will be the most neutral, with faces and poses getting more expressive and complicated as I go along.

If he looks younger than expected, that's because he is. These are, after all, high-school students we're talking about.

Next up, Ryuji Sakamoto! This'll be fun since he'll look much less neutral in his mugshot!"
