Specter of Torment: Achievement Guide

A guide that covers the achievements for the Treasure Trove DLC, also includes some tips that I've used.

Introduction

Hello everyone! In this guide, you will find both what each achievements are and how to get them. Yes, almost all of them are self-explanatory just like the previous DLC or the base game but still, some achievements require skill or some knowledge to get them. I will try to help you to get those achievements as much as I can!

1- Victory!

You get the first achievement right after you finish the game for the first time.

2- Skull Seeker

For this achievement, you have to find every red skull in the game. In the normal maps there are 10 red skulls and you can see them when you are selecting a map to travel. When you select a map, there is a number at the top right that tells you how many you collected in that specific map ( like 9/10). After you finish the game and collect the red skulls in the last boss area, you return to the base and give the last 2 red skulls to the collector and you get the achievement.

3- Spec'd Out

To get this achievement, you have to collect every armor, curios and upgrades. Curios is bought from the red skeleton in the base. To buy curios, you have to give money 3 times to the jar right next to the red skeleton. To upgrade the curios, you have to go up to the dining hall and go right, you will see another jar that you can fill with paying 3 times, after that you can upgrade your curios for 4k gold each.

4- Again!

After you finish the game, a new option is available in the character selection screen which lets you play with the same character with all the upgrades (you also can chose to keep playing with your character without going for ng+). If you select the new game+ and you finish the game, you get this achievement.

5- Naked Specter

There are secret areas in maps that you can find will or darkness shards that increases the amount of will or darkness you have. In order to get this achievement, you have to avoid picking those shards and finish the game without increasing your will and darkness.

6- No damage!

This achievement is gained when you finish an entire map without taking any damage.

Tip: I currently am trying to get it but couldn't find an easy way yet. When I do I will add it, if you did find a way please let me know so I can edit.

Edit: @Cyan Moogle said that it can be easy with playing the first stage in new game+ mode, since you have a lot of darkness you can spam the coin to slow down time until you kill him. @rusty-double-oh-seven also says that the easiest stage to do it is the first stage. I am also trying to get this achievement in the first stage. You can very easily reach the boss without getting damaged but the main problem is the black knight. What I found to be best is that you try to stick to the walls and when he gets close, just climb the walls and hit him in the air. When you are near the walls the only move he makes is walking towards you and jumping on top of his shovel.

7- Hurry Up!

Easy to understand, way too hard to achieve. You have to finish the game in 1 hours and 30 minutes. Good luck.

8- Checkpointless

To get this achievement, you must break every checkpoint you see after you start the game. When you break the checkpoints, you of course go to the start point when you die. As I know, it doesn't work if you try to replay the maps after you finished them once so you have to finish the game with breaking every checkpoint you see.

Edit: @Richard Tiklar said in the comments that you can actually get this achievement with replaying the stages, thanks for the information.

9- Untouched

To get this, you have to beat a boss without taking any damage.

Tip: I did it with the Propeller Knight and used the curios which lets you slow down time. I constantly slowed the time down and since he was in the air and was moving slowly, I dash-hitted him in the air repeatedly until he died. It was really easy, I wasn't even trying to get the achievement.

10- Wisp Whisperer

There are will and darkness upgrades in most of the maps. They are hidden in the maps so you have to find them in secret places. When you pick one up, it increases you will or darkness. When you collect all of them, you will get this achievement. At total, your character must have 10 will and 6 darkness.

Edit: @Anh Alexander said that if you use the vendor to buy missing will or darkness upgrades, you will not get the achievement so you have to find it all in stages. Thanks for the info!

11- Vector Victor

There is a climbing mini game that you can try. You can reach it with breaking the top right part of the first area that you spawn in town. Then you go up with the stairs and from there you go left with the rails.

Tip: Climbing the tower is really not easy and you have to be relaxed while doing it because almost any mistake makes you die. I find chronos coin really helpful when you get slowed down by a monster. It slows down the ground so it can't reach you fast. By the way it doesn't matter if you go really fast or slow, the ground keeps the pace with how fast you move so even if you do flawless run for %75 of the tower, it will reach you with a single mistake so don't try to pick up gems. Everytime you play it, map will be slightly different. For example think like the tower has 10 different parts, these parts will be randomly put on top of each other. If you play for half an hour you will probably see and experience all the parts. If you try enough you can probably do it after an hour or even less.

12- Make a Killing

You have to get 60k gold without replaying any game or playing the mini game in the town.

13- Inhuman Resources

When you finish a map and beat a boss, you actually recruit them and you can see them in the upper dining room ( go up from the room in which you buy curios from the red skeleton). You have to talk with every boss you have beaten and you will get the achievement when you speak with the last boss. They are randomized in the dining room as far as I understood so you can find an old boss even after you beat many bosses. Also, try to talk to everyone in town, you might find intresting surprises.

14- Harvest of Heights

It doesn't tell you to make a combo of 500, you just have to jump and hit when you see a slash appears on top of the enemies. When you hit multiple enemies with that dash-slash for the 500th time you will get it. You will probably get it before finishing the game even if you don't try to get it.

15- Scythe Economy

You have to finish a map and beat the boss of that map with using less than 10 normal hits. You can use as many dash-slashes as you want( the ones when you jump and you see a slash symbol appear on the enemies or projectiles).

Tip: First map is the easiest so try it there. You can break the sand squares with jumping on their sides so that specter knight will hold on to it and jump again to left or right. When you jump, squares will break. Dont even worry about the monsters, just run without touching them. You can easily kill the dragons with the upgraded Spider Scythe, it requires only 4 hits. When you reach the boss, you just have to hit it with jump slashes only. Be carefull because he moves really fast that when you jump, the slash symbol on him might disappear because of the distance causing you to do a normal hit. You can use chronos coin to hit him easier.

16- Get Out Of My Room

You have to find Specter Knights room in the lich Yard. You can see the room in the pictures. When you enter the room you will get the achievement.

17- Spirit of Giving

There are 2 mysterious jars in the town. One of them is right next to the red skeleton. If you fill it, npc will pop-up and you can purchase cloaks from it. To find the other just go upstairs from the room with the first mysterious jar and go right from the dining room. You will immediately see the other mysterious jar at the top left side of the room. Fill it and it will upgrade your curios for 4k gold each. When you fill both you will get the achievement.

18- Darkslide

You have to do 3 tricks while sliding. you can do it easily in town. When you first spawn in the town, you can break the top right of the screen. When you do you will see the stairs going up. Go up and there are rails that you can ride. When you slide just jump and press up and down a couple of times. Pretty easy to achieve.

19- Curio Conquest

This one was intense. You have to beat a boss with only using your curios.

Tip: I went to the Pridemoor Keep with Raiment of Risk cloak which gives you more damage and regenerate darkness when you break the checkpoints. I reached the boss with breaking every checkpoint and I killed the boss with using the Barrier Lantern. You just have to stay close to the boss and let the flames damage him. If you can stay close and avoid getting damaged, you will get is easily because flames do a lot of damage.

20- Melancholy

This is the easiest achievement, you have to stay still when you spawn in the town and let the specter knight lay down for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, you will get the achievement.

I actually got the "Spirit of Giving" achievement after donating to the Cloak jar only once, and then filling up the Curio jar. I'm not sure if this is a glitch or not, but I didn't have to fill both jars.

Does Naked Specter work on New Game+ ?

For Vector Victor
One could use Judgement Rush to skip certain sections by dashing to enemies above the player. The uprade also provides a faster dash and makes the player invulnerable. It is useful in saving time and skipping sections that could otherwise trip up the player.

OP, Could you mention the Cold Shoulder for Spec'd Out? I just ran around aimlessly for like the last twenty minutes trying to figure out what I was missing. xD (Yes, I am that unobservant, but so are other people. x3 )

You can get dread talon quickly in the game. If you use it correcly you can use the small forward swipe motion to get to hidden ledges if you don have the hover plume.

(4)Again!: Don't be afraid to use Curios. Dread Talon is the quickest and safest way to deal with many enemies and requires little darkness.

(5)Naked Specter: Since HP can't go below 4 use Raiment of Risk. The attack and regen are huge, especially for boss fights.

(7)Hurry Up!: Start with Iron Wale, aiming for 10 skulls by the end of the level. Purchase Will Skull and Hover Plume.

Rail Mail cuts down on time, but Raiment of Risk may be better because you can Hover more often. Gold should be spent on missed wisps, keeping in mind you need HP for Shield Knight around level 5.

If you die too many times during a level just return to the title screen. With Rail Mail a restart adds only 15 seconds.

My first attempt using Rail Mail/Skeleton Sentry took 1:20 and that contained a handful of both deaths and restarts. Using Hover I could have easily cut 10 minutes off the time.

(19)Curio Conquest: Use Skeleton Sentry on Polar Knight/Stranded Ship. Only takes 3 uses, quick and easy.
